Airline rescheduled my flight and had to stay extra night in Nigeria.

I started having strange feelings about my re-entry to the US esp tru Chicago POE.when it's time to leave Nigeria.

Passed tru normal checks with our people asking for money up and down with the exception of the immigration officer that stamped me out. He was so nice but I tipped him willing.. 5 pple infront of me did as well..

Flight was Ethiopian Airline.

Lagos to Ethiopia 5hrs
Layover 1hr
Ethiopia to Chicago 17hrs with a quick stop at Dublin to refuel.

The boeing 787 was cool with minimum noise.

A friend was detained at Chicago POE and transferred to ICE based on the assumption his marriage is not real.

He's awaiting court date or getting a bond

My Expenses
Airline Ticket : $2560
Hotel : N540,000
Hotel(Radisson Blu) : $238 after tax for one night.

Travelled home with
N2000 cash
$1,400 with assumption of spending 20k daily for food.
Bank Card of 2.2m(Just for backup)
5 big boxes of gifts like Santa Claus embarassed

I landed in the US with
N1,750 cash
Bank card balance : N773

Conclusion : I'll never do it again. I didn't know the situation of things in Nigeria. I thought I could only give gifts to people but had to do both gifts/money.

Make I go to my lyft Job while I take classes online.

Damn,

You spent way more money than I did.

I’ll make my estimates later but I spent roughly about $5000 - $6000 including Flight Tickets & Hotel Accommodation.

Landed at Washington Dulles International Airport yesterday around 7:45 PM Eastern Standard Time.

Spent only about 15 minutes on the queue.

Made use of the U.S. Citizen Line at the Washington Dulles International Airport & I was only asked two questions.

Which Countries did you visit? and I answered London, Abu Dhabi & Lagos.

Then he asked did you bring any Foods with you into the United States and I answered no.

Finally he took my picture & then said welcome back to the United States.

What could have been in the text that would warrant such assumption? I doubt it's something romantic.

Hopefully he will scale through.

To me, its a stupid decision. I see reason why people dont want to go home. they prefer to send money meant for airline ticket to family members to take care of expenses but I'm thankful smiley

There's nothing stupid in going on vacation and spend some money with family and friends.the choices you made cost you so much and rightfully you should be thankful you had fun with your money and not a nightmare with kidnappers or armed robbers.
