Thank you. My concern is that the estimated living expenses on their page is about 19k (14.5k for room & board and about 5k for travel, books and miscellaneous)
lordeoregon:

Congrats on both your admission and GA. If they waived your entire tuition, and it's just semester fees or health insurance you have to pay then that should be great. Usually GA stipends (if 20hrs weekly) factor in the monthly costs of living in your town/city, so you should be fine. I school in TX, and monthly stipends after tax is 1338 which is very decent for a student here (with a few hundreds left if boyz no too ball that month ). I even heard one gets a refund of certain percentage of taxes paid after filing tax returns, interesting....

So all you need are funds for your first month expenses, and a genuine bank statement for the visa interview. Cheers Baba.

The statement in bold is very correct.

If you're in Texas and a Nigerian, highly unlikely. Unless you file your taxes incorrectly.

Hopefully someone schooling in Connecticut can give you estimates on monthly rent, utility bills etc. If you cook, your groceries in a month no go pass 120 bucks. For books, you have full access to them at the library and can even get unavailable ones via inter library loan for free. Transportation na to dey follow school bus, everyone here does so.

No get high BP sha, because you will have a lot to think about and plan for these next months. Also check on LinkedIn for grad students there to give you better estimates. Use the estimates on the school website to plan for bank statements for I-20 and visa prep. Hope this helps.

Hello, prior to my application, I made inquiries about the possibility of funding for MA degree and the response was positive. So once you’re admitted, funding is automatic as long as you’ve indicated your interest during application..

PhD applicants get majority of funding. Yours shouldn’t be different..(depends on the department though)
I sent you a pm

This was the response... funding is automatic once you already indicated you’re interested for assistantship/funding during the application..
I applied after January 15th...the admin graduate coordinator told me the application closes march 1st

Hello, did u evaluate your transcript?
Evans211:
Hello everyone, good evening/morning. I appreciate you all for a great job done here thus far. I’m new here, and I’d like to ask some questions....

I just got admission into Texas tech Uni (department of political science).. I got an offer as a TA to online graders. The assistantship comes with a stipend of $10,000 for the period of 9 months (which I can’t really make sense of)...

The admission and offer came few hours ago.. I wish to seek your individual opinion, based on experience overtime about the funding (check attached), before sending a mail to the graduate coordinator.

Thanks

Hello guys...I'm currently in search for schools in the US that I can apply to without evaluating my transcript...Course : industrial /organisational psychology. Undergraduate : Public Administration. GPA: 3.37/5.0 ..
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Sammiel: 12:58pm On Jan 27, 2020
Please house I need your advice. I have a degree in business management but I am about to apply for a related course but under an agricultural department of a university. Please can this affect my chances of being issued a visa? I should have outrightly applied for an MBA program but my GRE test score isn't competitive enough and I'm not disposed to taking the test anytime soon. I have a decent GPA with a good aggregate toefl score. Kindly quote me with your advice please as time is not on my side here.

Okay! You should use google. You can check New Mexico State University, University of Kentucky, University of Tennessee, Knoxville. My head is kinda blank on other schools I can recommend. So, here is the thing: use the following search string to get list of other schools:

Universities in the US for MS Industrial Psychology.
" " " " " Organisational Psychology.

The best way to get these schools is to explore each school webpage. I can tell you there are many schools that doesn't require evaluation from international students. But you really need to do your own search, and please use computer. Not a phone!

Are you currently working in an agricultural capacity?

Are you sure about this? I absolutely think $120 is a gross underestimation. I do $200, and I don't even eat as much.

No. But I can always make up for that by getting myself involved in it prior to the visa interview.

There is hope. I had 2.8/5.0 and I was able to scale through.

Evaluate your transcript with WES for better output. Then ACE your GRE exams.

But the bitter truth, you chances of getting funding is low (not impossible though).

No, it cannot affect your visa chances as long as you are able to defend the career switch when asked by the VO.

I studied chemistry undergraduate and Switched to MBA. When asked why the switch, I told the V.O about my interest in business administration after managing my mum's business after nysc. He smiled and moved to the next question before approving visa.
