Atouke: If it's handled by Moni Michelle, then it's probably hybrid, rather than artificial (the turf at the Enyimba Stadium and Onikan Stadium are hyrbid). |
Re: 17000 Seater Eket Stadium Construction Reaches Roofing & Cladding Level (Photos) by Atouke: 6:52am On Jan 27, 2020 |
naptu2: That I don't know, if its hybrid or plain artificial. But going by what they have done in other stadium, I know moni Michelle will do a good job at the Uyo township stadium. |
Re: 17000 Seater Eket Stadium Construction Reaches Roofing & Cladding Level (Photos) by naptu2: 6:53am On Jan 27, 2020 |
Atouke: Yes. They use Desso Grassmaster (hybrid), which I think is the best surface at the moment. |
Re: 17000 Seater Eket Stadium Construction Reaches Roofing & Cladding Level (Photos) by Atouke: 6:57am On Jan 27, 2020 |
naptu2: But they will only install what the state government paid them to install. If they paid for hybrid then uyo township stadium will get hybrid turf, but if the state paid for standard artificial turf, that's what monimichelle will install. |

Atouke: Please check the 1700km road stuff. I doubt the whole of AKS has a road network of up to that. The township roads are OK except IBB way due to poor drainage, even the road from Uyo to Onna is not up to 200km. Please check yr facts again. 1 Like 1 Share |

Atouke: .... African leaders are very wicked they use all means to render the masses poor so they could buy them with #5 during elections. What's the usefulness of this stadium if I may ask? The money used in this stadium if it's been put into Agriculture it'll create employment and reduce crime. But if the masses feed well no one will do the dirty job again during elections for peanuts. The stadium Akpabio built in Awka ibom how many lives is the stadium sustaining today? These Leaders are vision less what we need now is industries and SMe loans. 1 Like |

Sonnyboom:Honestly, Igbo leaders are not being fair to their people. South East is the most underdeveloped region in this country. The whole south east cannot boast of a single standard stadium. This is Eket, just a city in Akwa Ibom. |

Na stadium Akwa Ibom people go chop. What happened to the one in Uyo. Seriously misplaced priorities. You don't just carry out a project without impact assessment. Where is the market for football in Akwa Ibom. In England, football is big business, from gambling to TV rights, that's why you see stadia everywhere. It's a huge export commodity for them. Here in Nigeria, where is that kind of market to warrant building of stadia. Concentrate on opening your seaports Mr. Udom. It will add value your people more. 3 Likes |

Atouke: You seem to be a mouthpiece of the state government. Can you tell me the employment statistics of the state? How many people are unemployed and what is the average income of residents of the state? How many kids are in school compared to those out of school, what is the state of healthcare in the state? How many standard hospitals and how accessible is it to the average resident of the state? Do residents enjoy access to good quality water? How many homes have access to good qaulity water provided by the state compared to all homes in the state? 2 Likes |

Bro, this your drivel is childish and unnecessary. Success is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Let each region or state inspire the other to improve theirs. Lets all stop being pessimistic and divisive. We need to begin to seriously face the business of nation-building community by community and state by state. Sonnyboom: |

Atouke: Much as you sounded really intelligent when you replied one Samuel, I believe he's right. If you are from Akwa Ibom State, your government should be focusing more on how to empower your people. It's critical! There are lots of Akwa Ibom people doing menial jobs in Lagos and Port Harcourt, mostly house helps. Your state is stinking rich...thanks to the petrodollars. Your governor ought to ask many of them to come back home and empower them with either capitals for business or vocational skills. Better still, build industries and privatize them just like the AKS airport and Ibom Air. This will be a bold step to create jobs and stimulate the state economy. The Godswill Akpabio Stadium is an awesome world-class sporting facility and that stadium is enough. This new massive project, in my view, is completely unnecessary. Even if Eket needs a sporting facility, a smaller one would have been perfect. Maintenance culture is a big challenge in this country. It will cost a lot of money to maintain these 2 stadia. Besides, oil will not be useful forever. So, human capital development and capacity building will definitely prepare AKS for a future beyond crude oil. This is not an attack; it's my personal opinion 3 Likes |
