see them potential husband killer.... I pity who go marry you.

Has it ever occurred to you how that child would grow knowing her/his killer mum murdered his/her father?

Do you also know that it is a taboo to murder a man that paid your birth price?

Do you also know that this killer has the potential to kill more people? A woman that would be so hardened to kill her husband can kill her father.

I'm sure the deceased has a family.

The judgement was fair enough. People should be made to bear the consequence of their actions.

What a pity.

Satan eventually see the end of this family.

It is not late. Anything can still happen, at least for the sake of the poor child of this marriage.

I agree.
To think we are still dishing out sentence in this day and age is simply despicable.
We cant cover up or make excuses for the senseless act she committed and the soul of the dead cant be brought back to life by way of the judgement but it would have been better if the sentence had taken into consideration that a young child will be an orphan when a life sentence could have suffice.
A very sad and unfortunate situation.

Life in prison is still the same.

No one will still take care of the child.

It seems very few people (or no one) here are/is aware she still has a number of appeals to exhaust before the death sentence can be carried out.
Not to mention she can also be given a pardon after a while by someone high enough in the political hierarchy.

She was only placed on deathrow by this judgement.

Is murder/culpable homicide okay too. I don’t support death sentence but it should deter others from thinking after all i will only go to jail nah. Her lawyers will appeal the judgement no doubt.

Men get death sentence too in this circumstances so no big deal if it is a woman or a mother

is not actually hanging

There is machine for that (it will just chop your head off in a split second)

Each prison has it

In Nigeria, it is hanging. You are talking about a guillotine. Nobody uses guillotine in 2020.

She should have thought of that before killing her husband or would you have been saying this if the Victim was reversed..

The punishment for murder is death, let her go and make peace with her Creator.. angry

The business of the Court is to convict Killers..

NONSENSE..

She was only placed on death row by this judgement.

She will not get a pardon. She killed the Scion of a very important and powerful political family.

She would exhaust all her appeals and still not get the sentence reversed. She is unlikely to actually be executed as most governors don't like to sign execution warrants (rightfully so). So at best, her sentence would be reduced to life imprisonment.

She always had anger issues as tiny as she is. I went to secondary school with her, FGGC bwari and we graduated in 2005.

Anyone who can put a check on their anger buys his or her self a longer life.

My sympathy goes out to her family, the family of her murdered husband and to her poor child.

Wow.. You know her!

It seems Northern women are jealous by nature and always seek to inflict serious injuries on spouse or rivals, even a rivals offspring...

If not that she killed a big man's son...She would have gotten away with it. She could have told the truth that she stabbed him, manslaughter, but she wanted to go scot free. She go tey for jail even if they don't hang her... Wicked soul! cool

There "The victim, Mr Bello, was the son of a former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Haliru Bello" she had little or no chance!

I know that some critic will point this out . The truth is that the murdered man wasn’t Dr. Bello son although Dr. Bello Haliru was a close relative and one time a guardian to the deceased. Don’t forget that the lady’s family are also rich and very influential and probably in APC.

sometimes, people don't tell their lawyers the truth. If during the court proceedings she pleaded guilty as charged, she would have been charged with manslaughter and not for murder. But if you say you are not guilty and it is found out you are actually guilty , you will be charged with If she had told the lawyers the real truth, no lawyer will advise her to say otherwise.

A very sad and unfortunate situation.

Why didn’t she take into consideration that she had a child before stabbing her husband to death. I witnessed a terrible fight between a husband & his wife in the kitchen. Non of the two of them took the kitchen knife to stab each other which they had several knives at their disposal.

They later parted ways as they both agreed it’s better they go their separate ways than kill each other. The wife said in my presence that her husband isn’t worth going to jail for. So why didn’t she stab him as they both had blood marks bruises on their bodies but no murder attempt.

In this scenario, Madam Sanda’s child will grow up hating his mother knowing fully well she sent his father to his early grave

Only say what you're sure of.
That she killed the son of a former PDP chieftain means nothing (emphasis on former). It can be a serving President or Governor with no allegiance to the family of her late husband that will decide to pardon her.

Appeals take years, she might also get lucky and have one go in her favor before she exhausts it all. Never say never.

Besides, how many people with the exception of kidnappers, armed robbers, and political prisoners have ever actually had their capital punishment sentence carried out in the history of Nigeria?
