Emotional discipline. This is so hard for a trader to get, at one point or the other, Greed while trading gets the best one of us, it really takes a pro trader to avoid emotional shambles in trading.
One thing I can say is inadequate capital available for trading will cause a really lot of indiscipline in trading... At least having a sufficient capital to trade will at least help emotionally not that it will actually relieve you of getting greedy but it's a step.
Being Emotionally disciplined encompasses Money Management too...

Still battling with all, not in any way easy at all but I still find emotional discipline most difficult, despite I'm disciplinarian I still find emotional discipline difficult in forex. We gatt to continue to force ourselves to fit the system.

You are not the only one we are all going through the same things. i think what makes emotional discipline difficult to obtain is maybe because we cant backtest our emotions. you can backtest a strategy or your money management but how does one backtest his emotions

From your list, for me finding an edge is the most important thing. If na agbero I study, when soldier come I go run, if I be doctor, I know say soldier go come beg me one day. Why? Because the doctor has an edge.

You see that thing that @Jerryq says about people being indebted to the tune of millions because of forex? it's TRUE oh! There was a point in my life I was owing over $50K amongst family and friends [even one that turned my enemy ] and it was only the grace of God that took me out of debt. All this happened in a space of about 10yrs. Forex wasn't even that popular then.

I said I never wanted to hear anything Forex in my life again and took a break for about 7yrs but I kept monitoring traders and it occured to me that for every trader that loses there is another trader that wins. If I was doing something WRONG MOST of the time [I remember someone loaning me $5k when dollar was 135 & the first trade i took was with 8lots after I just learnt 5 and 10 MA crossing! Had I known ],then there was someone else doing it RIGHT MOST of the time too to be chopping my money.

If you ask me, getting an edge would give you the confidence to stick to the plan and be emotionless. Doctors have become so emotionless that they'd just tell you " I'm sorry we did all we were meant to do but we lost him, you still owe us 200k .

Getting a system that works even 50% of the time and gives you at least 2 times the risk when in profits, is a GUARANTEE that you would be successful in this forex business. Why do we keep praying to our God? Is it because he answers our prayers all the time? No! But at the end we are alive and constantly have our daily sustenance, so that gives us the confidence to somehow hold on to Him through whatever periods we face.

For me, according to your stated points, getting an edge [1] tells me that if I stick to the plan and take every opportunity that corresponds to my plan, as long as I take calculated risks to keep me in the game [2], whether this trade I'm about to take wins or loses, I know I'd have more wins in the end so I don't care [3]. That's how I've become profitable.

Let's create a group and trade together real time, because I don't think most people get to benefit from posts here because of time lag,I don't want to be the one to manage the group because I know I wont be able to keep up with that, but if someone can, I can assure you I'd replicate what i learnt to turn my trading around, my word, my bond.

I am closely following the gbp as well. The BREXIT news and all that. It obviously will be a volatile week for gbp. Can't wait for the move. My expectations will be for the egbp to smash up to 0.878*-0.88** & sharply reverse.
