This lady below is a full blooded Yoruba citizens. she won the Grammy award yesterday.......

""It is a great shame that a good percentage of the Yoruba in Nigeria doesn't know Angelique Kidjo's music, talk more of her being a Yoruba woman.

Kidjo was born in Benin Republic. Her father is from the Fon people of Benin Republic and her mother is from the Yoruba people of Benin Republic.

The oral history of the Fon attributes the origins of the Fon people to the intermarrying between the migrating Allada with the Oyo inhabitants in the (Yoruba) Kingdoms of the plateau in Benin Republic. These Yorubas were known as the Igede, corrupted by the Allada as the Gedevi.

The fusion of the Allada and the original indigenous Yorubas of the Abomey plateau in Benin Republic thus created a new culture, called the Fon, where Angelique Kidjo's father originated.

Angelique Kidjo is, therefore, a full blooded Yoruba citizen. She won the Grammy yesterday. Proudly Yoruba.

How much Asian population these states do hold? Moreover, Kashmir is under Indian jurisdiction, is under war, not actually "torn by war".

Russia, China and India (and even Japan in recent past) face huge internal and external wars. But they have strong jurisdiction over their territories, their citizens live mostly normal life with rare terrorist attacks and external powers couldn't cross their borders. Unlike AfPak, Yemen and Iraq, even large parts of territories of these countries are controlled by terrorists or there is always a war-like situation in those regions.

95% of Asian population lives in Asia-Pacific countries which are far from being war-torn. Instead it is world's most sustainable region after West and has flourishing economies.

In no way this is outdated.

Check the fragile states index and compare that list with GDP per capita. It's not necessary that poor countries are war torn but all war torn ones are poor.

Even those who are high and middle income despite war are either in rich regions likr Europe or oil rich areas and still lag behind poor countries in development indicators.

If you weren't a fantastically ignorant and possibly racist Desi you wouldn't be misusing your neurons to propagate this vain narrative.

What kind of logic is this? People who don't fight are greatly affected by a civil conflict or external invasion.
Over that, a war sucks the abilities of government. A few tens of thousands people engaged were enough to bring havoc in Nepal, a country with 28 million inhabitants.

Applies to everyone. Seems you think the rule applies to some and not all. Thanks for providing an extra Asian country torn by war. Now I remember Cambodia, Laos, Burma, Myanmar (completely forgot the Rohingya), Vietnam, Philippines (from drugs to communist rebels), Thailand (Islamic insurgency), etc etc. Southeast Asia is home to the world’s longest ongoing Civil Wars. Not forgetting the entire M.E. In comparison to Asia, Africa's insurgencies and civil wars look like child's play! Where you get the guts to deny this obvious truth, and the energy to keep it going is beyond understanding.

Nigeria’s Paga acquires Apposit, confirms Mexico and Ethiopia expansion

Nigerian digital payments startup Paga has acquired Apposit, a software development company based in Ethiopia, for an undisclosed amount.

That’s just part of Paga’s news. The Lagos based startup will also launch its payment products in Mexico this year and in Ethiopia imminently, CEO Tayo Oviosu told TechCrunch

The moves come a little over a year after Paga raised a $10 million Series B round and Oviosu announced the company’s intent to expand globally, while speaking at Disrupt San Francisco.

Paga will leverage Apposit — which is U.S. incorporated but operates in Addis Ababa — to support that expansion into East Africa and Latin America.
Repat founders

Behind the acquisition is a story threaded with serendipity, return, and collaboration.

Both Paga and Apposit were founded by repatriate entrepreneurs. Oviosu did his MBA at Stanford University and worked at Cisco Systems before returning to Nigeria.

Apposit CEO Adam Abate moved back to Ethiopia 17 years ago for an assignment in the country’s Ministry of Finance, after studying at Brown University and working in fintech in New York.

“I put together a team…to build…public financial management systems for the country. And during the process…brought in my best friend Eric Chijioke…to be a technical engineer,” said Abate.

The two teamed up with Simon Solomon in 2007 to co-found Apposit, with a focus on building large-scale enterprise software for Africa.
A year later, Oviosu met Chijioke when he crashed at his house while visiting Ethiopia for a wedding. It just so happened Chijioke’s brother was his roommate at Stanford.

That meeting began an extended conversation between the two on digital-finance innovation in Africa and eventually led to a Paga partnership with Apposit in 2010.

Apposit dedicated an engineering team to build Paga’s payment platform, Eric Chijioke became Paga’s CTO (while maintaining his Apposit role) and Apposit backed Paga.

“We aligned ourselves as African entrepreneurs…which then developed into a close relationship where we became…investors in Paga and strategically aligned,” said Abate.
African roots, global ambitions

Fast forward a decade, and the two companies have come pretty far. Apposit has grown its business into a team of 63 engineers and technicians and has racked up a list of client partnerships. The company helped digitize the Ethiopian Commodities Exchange and has contracted on IT and software solutions with banks non-profits and brick and mortar companies.

For a decade, Apposit has also supported Paga’s payment product development.

The arguments started when a certain kiberan claimed, best schools in Tz are owned and taught by Kenyans.I disagreed.
I showed him our number one school, International school of Tanganyika which is mostly not only taught by whites but its almost white on everything. Upon seeing this truth, the goalposts have been changed. Now you are claiming about schools taught by Kenyan dropout. Can you prove? Can you give me the names of teachers and the schools they teach?

Dude, swallow your pride for a min. Tanzania is known for having an acute shortage of teachers and a woeful woeful curriculum. Why do you think you sound dumb sometimes? Its the schools you went through grin

According to Tanzanian government, the country suffers an acute shortage of secondary school teachers.

Mr Musyoka who was accompanied by Ministry of Home Affairs permanent secretary Ludeki Chweya added that Tanzania also needs assistance in development of its curriculum.

“The Kenya Institute of Education can help Tanzania in development of its curriculum,” he said.

Seychelles routinely hires Kenyan teachers to teach in its best schools and they are looking to hire more, same to Rwanda and SS. Not bragging but Kenyan teachers are the best quality by a wide margin in EA and the wider region followed by Ugandan teachers. Cant say the same about your half baked teachers. cry
