adonainana: "Very smart entreprenouers would start looking for land now around the final stop of the station in Ibadan, things such as hotels, malls, shopping centres can easily pop up there." In DJ Khaled's voice, you're smart. I swear, this has been on my mind since last year. So many investment opportunities will be created with this rail project. I can't wait till it is completed... interesting times ahead. 1 Like |

post=86161826:No, they are not, I watched one of the test run on channel TV, a journey from Lagos to Ibadan took 4 hrs thats almost the same as using the road considering traffic, Lagos to Ibadan is 2 hrs without traffic. It will be more beneficial for transportation of goods and commuting of those that can afford to pay for road transportation. 1 Like |

thundafire:Like people are blaming GEJ now that he did too much in the North and too little in the South. Before May 2015 Amaechi denied that GEJ did any trainline in SE/SS. Even though the line passed almost the backyard of Amaechi. Amaechi only admitted after he became Minister. Claiming he didn't know before. He was now commissioning train just month after becoming minister, the work of GEJ. He will reap what he sewed. |

Okpa042: Chinese invasion kor! The Brits, Americans, French are ripping us off till this day with little or nothing to show for it. Tell me how many infrastructures have the west built for us in this century. Do you even know why the crude oil found in Nigeria still cannot be refined in Nigeria? It is crystal clear the Chinese do have their agenda but at least they're building / wholly or partly funding infrastructural developments across Africa, South America, in the Pacific...Stop spewing the white man's narratives. If our leaders are smart, the Chinese would not outwit them in any negotiations regarding loans and terms of payments. P.S: I'm not a fan of Buhari but in all honesty I commend the work he, Ameachi and their team are doing in the railway sector. 1 Like |

DaBullIT: Sorry, but credit does NOT belong to this government - alone.... The 25-Year Rail Development Masterplan was the brainchild of the Obasanjo administration... While the initial financing (loans) were secured and contracts were awarded by the Jonathan administration. This is an apt epitome of government being a CONTINUUM... Even the Itakpe-Ajaokuta line was conceived and construction begun under the Shagari and IBB administrations. > |

supernigga: They are just TEST-RUNNING those trains, but the trains will not be high-speed (that is, 200-250+ km/h)... Nonetheless, the trains will have speed capacity of up to 150 km/h, but will likely run at 120km/h (like the Abuja-Kaduna line). > 1 Like |
