Good evening house, please I need you guys advice on something, would you advise someone to collect loan from the bank(Gtbank) with 1.33% interest money and put in uber business? A friend of mine is thinking of collecting loan of 2 million to buy 2 cars, a big daddy(1ml) and a Honda (#800,000, the owner is desperately in need of money). He has seen the cars already but just that he is a little bit sceptical about it if he can be able to repay the loan and interest within a year interval. He will drive one and give out one. What is your advice guys and has anyone here collected loan from the bank especially GTBank, what was the person's experience and are there hidden charges that the bank doesn't let the customers know?
.

Hello friend,

Is GtBank loan ok? Yes, I’ve taken from there before at even 1.72% back then.

Any hidden charges? No, it’s a flat rate. You get to even save some interest if you can liquidate it at some point.

Are Nigerian used cars entirely bad? Quite dicey. Not all Nigerian used cars are bad but you’d be needing the services of a good mechanic that way you can save roughly 300 to 400k.

Is Uber business that booming? I do not think so; low fares, bad roads, high tension when you don’t get paid by your partners and all.

Should I take risks? Absolutely yes, fortune favors the bold. Things could go south or north.

My advice?
1. Let him not take say above a 1m as loan so he doesn’t get weary while paying, loans can be tiring as you’d be counting down

2. Let him buy a car which is the big daddy in this case; if he sub let’s it and it turns bad, he takes his car back, fix it and use for his personal runnings.

All the best as you help guide him.

God bless you.

Well.. I prefer doing just 3 trips in a day and make around 10k to doing 10 trips to make roughly the same amount.
My point. Plenty riders + low fare doesn't significantly increase your PROFIT, it only increases your stress level and car maintenance costs. My opinion

I want to believe everybody loves and want that, but in the absent of that, we just have to face reality on ground. We r talking about cases where they r low riders due to inability to afford the price. Do you remember we once have taxify and taxify lite with low fare? Do you know how taxify drivers beg to join lite? Its so frustrating to take children to sch on short trip in d morning #500, luckily! you get another 1800 trip and you have to wait under burning sun till 2pm for another trip. What profit means to me presently, is if I can use 3k fuel to gross 13 - 15k daily, then I'm filled. Giving to what is obtainable with the numbers of car, if you want them to go back to the good ole days of where 3 trips can land u 10k, drivers may not do a trip in 2 days. I remember my beginning days, I'll set destination trip and stay on the bed, sometimes deep asleep and request will wake me maybe after 3hrs to get my ever sweet trip, then I'm indoor and wasn't intense or uncomfortable... Believe me, I pity for drivers, when I park to do stuffs and come back to meet them on same spot using dia phone as only tool to fight boredom, just as I pity for dose lone policeman standing on 3rd mainland bridge (No tot on earth dat won't pass thro one mind at such given point in time).

Someone mentioned earlier here that it’s trips that will take you to crazy places that doesn’t show destination. You are very correct.

I was inside Thomas Estate Ajah around 9am when I got a request, no destination, I called rider.

Me: Hi Good morning! ............................, where is your destination?

R: Mainland.

Me: Where on the mainland?

R: Apapa!

Me: Argh! Okay it’s not a problem but the ride will be on my own terms and conditions.

R: What do you mean?

Me: We will do offline trip, you will buy me breakfast and diner, at the end of the trip you pay me 50k.

R: You must be silly!

Me:I know. ***drops call

I sharply canceled. Another request came in. No destination again.

Me: Good morning.........

R: Hi Good morning, is that taxify?

Me: Yes

R: okay I’m going to City FM on Lateef Jakande, is it okay by you?

Me: It’s cool, I will be at your place in 3 minutes.

Ride ended at 5000k, I they go carry law school passengers make I go house go sleep.

R: come first. You've not gotten to where we are and you're already asking for destination.

Me: I'm sorry about that bro, but please, can you tell me?

R: Sango.

If bolt doesnt add a cancellation fee anytime soon, then drivers will constantly start cursing out these fake requests that come and you call they tell you where they are, you get there they dont pick up the phone again. No courtesy whatsoever. Bolt has already been able to take alot of uber customers because they dont have a cancellation fee which makes no sense.

I wonder how you will take a rider going to a 5star hotel or restaurant. You also give that rider a 5star ride, on your A.C., open the door for them play music for them make sure your car smells good at a very cheap price. Why is the 5star hotel or restaurant not cheap and your 5star services is cheap. Uber and bolt are busy fighting on who provides the cheapest fare at the detriment of the diver and car owner. They say when two elephants fight it's the grass that suffers. We have chicken republic, testy fraid chicken, KFC, tantalizer etc are they not doing competition too? Why is there food not cheap due to competition. We have thousands hotels all over why is there service not cheap? Because they are the owners of the business and they spend alot of money to run the business. But uber/Taxify are not the owners of your car so they don't care how you feel.

Na copy copy ooo

uber makes drivers take responsibilty for the most significant costs/downsides to owning a motor vehicle (depreciation, maintenance and repair costs)

anyone who buys a naija used corolla or any of these popular e-hailing rides is a fool, unless he's sure it has never been used on the platforms, that is

In fact enh its so annoy.

5min back one just happened. I was inside Omole phase 1 behind the Catholic church and got a req.

GBAM GBAM GBAM!!!
Aceppted!

Immediately my phine ring.

Me: hello
Rider: a woman's voice, of a where r u
Me: I'm in front of the Catholic church
Rider: I dont know where that is o but I'm standing beside uba
Me: ok, where r I going pls?
Rider: lekki abi, she was trying to mention the exact place.
Me: ok, im coming.

B4 I cud get to omole gate she already cancelled. Called the fufu she didnt pick.

Guy man just weak.

Drove down to uba I just off my bolt app and turned on uber and immediately a req entered going to phase II. Trip ended of 0naira...guyman just weak today... e b like na o fe work I dey do today ooh

But one thing I c about this taxify policy on zero charges on cancellation is that, ita their strong strategy to grab d market and thats d reason they have lots of riders they understand the market very well. So i dont see them scrabbing it not now not in the nearest future. But they only thing is they should look for a balance for drivers as well because it doeant make any sense after driving for a long distance inly for rider to cancel on u. Its totally wrong

When we had taxify and lite, riders went for lite because they had a choice. They were asked to pay more for the same comfort in the same car (Corolla/camry 03 and 05 don't differ much). If there was no lite option believe me there wld be requests as usual on taxify. Before the era of ehailing, yellow cabs were charging exorbitantly and they were cashing out daily.
