Bro, there's nothing like accidental discharge. To fire a rifle takes about 5 to 6 steps. Nigeria police only use that to cover up their incompetence.
There is nothing like accidental discharge like you said, but firing a rifle requires 3 steps.
For AK family ....open fire selector, c o c k the rifle and press the trigger. (3steps).
So, for someone to fire accidentally is not accidental, he/she must have the intention to fire.
In the instant case, the officer in question must have left the fire selector open and didn't remove his finger from the trigger, Or he must have put the fire selector on rapid.
But if he was carrying a G3 rifle, the rifle usually has a great disadavtage. The chamber might not have been totally rid of ammo, which must have spilled out and hit the victim.
In all my grammar sha, the officer did not exercise due care, skill and professionalism as a rifle man (rifle creed). He is at fault.

I know exactly what I'm talking about, I included charging and loading of the magazine.

All of them are trained they are not civilian, they are armed men I understand most of them were trained by Nigeria military, it was just unfortunate that this happened.

“And henceforth, it has become an offence for armed bearers to stay within the immediate perimeters of any occasion; they must keep a 50 meters distance away from events or party venues”

See Zoo nation!! so he can now make up new laws, just like that?

Loading magazine is done right from the armoury, and mounting magazine shouldn't be counted as steps in firing a rifle. I also know what I'm talking about.

Thank You... Na to travel go Imo go see the Gov and people dey hard am, big men Dem... Awon ole

though na politician, the late man wasn't a public office holder. so it's for the CG to delegate either the ACG of that zone or imo commandant to see the governor on his behalf. if it affected a public office holder or former public office holder, the CG fit make time to come just for the camera and free publicity. Rochas brough better publicity since he rep the constituency + being a former governor compared to him going down to imo without getting any backlash from Nigerians

if AK-bullet might have already be lodged in the chamber and safety is off. remember the report was security personnel were shooting in jubilation. so automatically, safety is off and ak lodges bullet immediately shot is fired. my question is, why face d barrel down instead of up

As a self-made rule which I adhere to 100%. Once I see uniformed personnel flaunting guns anyhow in any event, just know that I'm done with that event. I head home straight.

Some years ago, that was how a civil defense officer shot and killed a mopol who was on his patrol team that was called upon to handle a robbery incident. Immediately they got there the mopol being well trained took a position and was tracking the movement of the robbers when the Civil defense on his team shot and killed him, the robbers were left to escape. Since that day they stopped combine team patrol of both police and civil defense in the state

Sorry, charging the magazine and loading the rifle. It's part of the process, depending on how you look at it. Will an unloaded rifle fire?

That's part of the training I mentioned earlier. You don't fire your rifle in jubilation. Only an indisciplined person does that. Secondly, if you must discharge your weapon without a target, the barrel must be facing a safe direction, preferably angle 45 degree.

These guys don’t even fulfill a quarter to f their mandate sef! They’re supposed to be in the forefront of the investigation into the activities of the killer herdsmen, Miyetti Allah, and Boko haram! They’re not supposed to be providing escort services like our police has turned themselves into. Now they want to venture into another crucial part of the police service, civilian population control! grin

The kind of training they receive will determine their performance in the field. You should know this, if not for the fact that you reason through your anus.

If they're not civilians, then what are they? By training, you mean taking them to the range for one or two days? You think that's enough? For your own safety, you better be cautious whenever you see these guys with weapons. At basic military training, they don't hand you a functional weapon until after about three months in training, and when they do, it's without ammo. Before you start carrying a loaded weapon, you must have spent between 5 and 6 months. Ask any military man if what I'm saying is false.

You could as well train forever!
Is handling a gun as complicated as driving, using a computer or engineering?

Six or 5 months training in the military is for one to gain knowledge in warfare (warfare in it's totality) not just rifle handling.

If the military that trained them knew that one month is too short for rifle handling, i believe the military would have opted not to go ahead with the training.

In some real life war, kids between 10 to 18 years old are trained to handle rifles under 2-3 weeks and pushed to the warfront. Yet you make it seem as if rifle handling is further mathematics. No wonder you can't do the job.

My Guy!, Be satisfied with your file handling and Ctrl + c commands.

Exaggerating is what you are best-known for!

I'm sure you've never attended any military training, yet you write with such authority. Mo*on, there's more to weapon handling than cocking, aiming and firing. I don't have to explain that to a landlubber. FYI: In whatever I do or did, I've always been above my peers, and that includes my service in the military.

You bet I haven't been in any form of military training. But I sure do know how long it takes for a smart person to know how to handle a firearm.
Cocking, aiming, firing, stripping and assembling, servicing, handling etc can be learnt under a month. I repeat a month!

Your peers must have been airheads for you to have been best amongst them.

Who cares if you were a fake military personnel!
