Guy leave talk, AngryIgboMan is right, those guys are menace on the road, reckless driving, plying one-way, disobedience to traffic light, scratching people's Vehicle upandan.

I support the govt 101%

Which govt are you supporting.

Do you know the ripple effect of these ABRUPT policies.

Let's assume there are 5,000 motorcycles n rickshaws ( they far outstrip that figure)

That simply means over 5,000 people ( including women keke drivers) will lose their jobs just like that.

Are you looking @ d multiplier effect, all these drivers have families depending on that source of income

And all of a sudden, that income stream would be taken away.

You support govt taking jobs from people in a country where getting a job is almost a miracle. Common!

Come to think of it. Let's leave the keke n okada for now.

Are there alternatives for moving around without d Rickshaws.

For instance, if d ban takes effect, how will commuters move from ogba to Allen junction/ Berger/ opebi.

I'm asking YOU. Can you suggest how commuters will move henceforth?

Can everybody afford cabs?
. But @ least most pple can afford d #50/ #100 for dose short distances.

How many pple in Lagos can pay #400 for a short distance.

Forget all the hype about money in Lagos, majority of people in Lasgidi are just struggling.
I mean A LOT of pple are just getting by.

These are things you shd think of before supporting a policy that will eventually fail.

Let us be guided

I am not supporting the government neither am against them but let me just say this. Bikes and Keke was stop on major express road where our regular danfo plus. And they are not banned in streets where danfo cannot play. So let's take note of this before arriving at any conclusions.
Bike and Keke will still run in trade Fair mkt, inside festac and somany other places. So nobody is taking away food from anyone.

On this Okada and Keke ban issue, a driver told me yesterday that these Keke and Okada operators are planning on doing a riot on the affected LGAs on the 1st of February. Any car they think Is an Uber or Taxify car could be harmed or destroyed. Guys please how reliable is this info. Have anyone here heard anything as such?

What about ogba, agindigbi, Ikeja, computer village, Allen, agege , iju ishaga, fagba,.abule egba etc

What will happen to the keke drivers there.
They should carry their keke n go to Festac or what?.

When reasoning issues, don't just look at the surface. Look deep.

What about the Agberos, the toll/ ticket/ tariff collectors whose jobs are hinged on that particular industry.

This particular ban is just for 5 local governments, Ikeja and Lagos Island inclusive

The ban is that THEY DON'T WANT TO SEE KEKE AND OKADA AGAIN: WHETHER MAJOR OR MINOR ROAD.

Trade fair is in Ojo local government. The ban no reach that side

I understand you bro but you didn't consider how many lives have been lost due to the menace they cause every day on the road. I think our society will become better when we prioritize life over money because money can always been made in another way but life cant. So pls next time you are thinking about source of income, think about lives too, this new policy will save. PS I lost someone due to okada menace

The ban is insensitive and foolish. How will people doing short distance move around?

Granted, the kekes and bikes are a nuisance but you don't just change policy without creating alternatives.

Na wahala them dey find. Lagos is going to bleed the coming days.

They don't even have sense if they plan on doing this. The violence will aggravate the govt.

Whatever happened to peaceful protests while seeking audience with the governor eh.

Abuja-Kaduna expressway is notorious for kidnapping crimes. The government should close down that road, after all so many lives have been lost there

Oh, air crashes are very fatal. I'll suggest the government bans airlines and shut down airports to avoid those crashes

The problem we have today is not because of Okadas and Kekes littering everywhere. The problem is ENFORCEMENT from the government.

Why is it that the same danfos that are parking anyhow and causing traffic at Ikeja Under bridge, will park well and shut their doors when they get to Alausa? Like someone wrote earlier, why can't the government stop registering Kekes since they know they are becoming much, and maybe a menace to the society?

FRSC sees a corolla that is road worthy, yet they'll book him. A danfo with no good tyres, no brake lights will be allowed to pass. The danfo crashes into something, passengers die, and then we say danfos are a menace. What about the FRSC and VIO that turned a blind eye nko?

Accidents don't just occur. There is always a cause, and 98% of the time, it's caused by whoever is controlling the equipment. If the person you lost in a bike accident had safety measures put on, the bike was observing it's speed limit and road signs, and the machine was in good condition, it will be highly impossible to have an accident.

Tomorrow when the government fails in its responsibility to control traffic, they blame uber and bolt and then, ban them. One man too in his G wagon will be saying "God bless LASG"

The government is failing in its responsibility to provide security and free traffic, so they decided to throw the baby and the bath water

What source of income are you talking about?
.we are talking about loss of jobs.

We are talking about the movement of the average " lagosian"

As it is, the buses can't go round.

Transport fares in Lagos are so high.

Even in Abuja with the elitist approach the city plan brought.

Keke still runs in certain parts of the city.

You have still not answered the pending question.:

If the ban takes place .How will an average individual DT earns around 20-25k monthly move to n fro work in the areas aforementioned.?

Picked up this rider from havana hotel this morning. Immediately rider entered my car, the smell of alcohol and weed just make rubish of my air freshner.
Me just tell the rider say "sorry I have to turn off the a/c and wind down" . After I don wind down, the rider no talk anything.
after driving for about 30 seconds, the next thing I heard was : Oga softly dey shake my breast.
ME : E just be like say dem put electric shock for my body. My eyes go straight to her breast, no ask me wetin carry my eyes go there, no be my fault na reflex action make me look that side.
The rider carry for front sha! Abeg pope, sprinkle me that Holy water, my eyes don commit this morning.

After like a minute now, the rider come talk again say... Oga you no hear wetin I talk say make you take am easy dey shake my breast ?
Me : Sorry it's due to the bad road. But inside my mind I come talk say ... the bad road and you wey no wear bra follow cause the shaky shaky.

Fair point. The Govt is not taking food from anyone. In any same environment you dont expect to see rickshaws and okadas on major highways. Is the accidents or traffic they cause on a daily basis?

They can still work in the streets. Angroiboman is right to some point, but I dont support the idea of wishing death on anyone.

Keke and okadas shouldnt be plying the highways plain and simple.

This is a good step in the right direction.

Hahaha... Wahala dey...lolzzz... U just relieved me of the annoyance inside me now I swear...

Who are those keke and okadas advocates Those guys need a serious ban i must say in fact if they can even ban then totally in lagos it will be good especially the keke guys.

Can you imagine heading to opebi from oba akran with the serious traffic that was how they started forming different lanes both left and right...i sayblet me clear to one side which is on d my left so they could maintain the right, I allowed two pass and then blocked the once coming behind so they could maintain the right side I could see from my rear mirrow how the fool behind me was trying to squeeze himself through but I didnt want to gice him space with the frustration in him the idiot just hit my bumper with his keke with the constructed iron in front of the tires... I came out to see if the impact was much...
The idiot was just looking straight at me in the eyes, "this man y u hit me na" the next tin was insult was even boosting I call anybody i want to call saying why was I blocking him from passing.
"Is that why u hit me?"
I wanted to guce him a punch but as an educated person I just thought wise.
Looking at him this guy will bit me black and blue b4 anybody will come to my rescue oh, all his body is full of skies from either bottle wound or knife cuts with some tattoos inscriptions... Left him to get my jack knife to add my own tonhis body but b4 I could come out the man done take the right side escape.

These guys are causing a lot of nuisance and trouble on our major roads thereby causing accidents and automatically traffic. I support the ban 100% from major roads and high ways.
In a sane society what should a keke be doing olin a high way?? They endanger human lives and property, let's the state government stand on their ground on this and make it permanent this time because all the governor right from Tinubu has in one time or the other implimented this same policy but during polity campaign or when elections are approaching they lift these policies just to Jain popularity votes.

I just hope they getbit right this time instead if the backward n forward movement.

I observed an accident on my way to Lasu few days ago, about 200 meters away from igando madness. On getting to that dapsey filling station before akesan junction, this minibus ran directly into a keke crossing the express to access the other side.

The passengers in the keke don dey yakata for road internal injuries/bleeding , marwa don fold, the minibus too don suffer. Which kain rough play the keke man dey play with people's life?

The U turn is just about another 150m ahead but as Lagosians wey we be, we no dey chill.

I'm hoping to start this hustle fully in two weeks time; pls house, I need helpful tips on how to run the game...

To the okada/Keke ban, i think okada and Keke shouldn't be allowed to operate on the highway. I had an encounter with one Oride guy last week, there was traffic along ketu so all vehicles were moving at snail speed, suddenly this Oride guy just abruptly hit the side mirror of car without even stopping by to apologize...naso I just lay curse on the ediot cos I no fit catch am again...However sha, the govt ain't trying at all, no enough Job for the teeming youths, palliative should be made available before any clampdown or else daylight robbery go boku for we Lagos oo

Dont know what you mean by resistance

But if it's remittance, people peg theirs at 25k and 30k respectively, some at 35k

But it all depends on the terms of the partner
