This is where HW gets very ruthless with Diamond/Access loan recovery.
He has liquidated lots of oil & gas assets as part of loan recovery drive.
I know of an oil rig they sold last year. In the middle of negotiation for the rig, he was proposing a seized Japaul yard in PH for sale to the prospective rig buyer to sweeten the deal. grin

I respect and fear HW for that.

I still don't know how he had mercy on DBN shareholders. He was in a position to squeeze them dry, maybe because of his insider dealings and what he stands to gain (personally). My assumptions though, could be wrong.

Today Mr FLOURMILLS closed @ N23... but its clear that the 'dude' is now gradually getting tired of running(price rise in view). Perhaps its time for it to 'start trekking' with back and forth movements for a while, before another run. wink cheesy grin

https://www.booksie.com/595806-value-investing-the-sentimental-way

I remember when I wrote the article above, which was an indirect call for folks to immediately key into FLOURMILLS. ...at the time it was selling for between N13.50 to N13.85
Then, someone replied my post and asserted that the stock needs to trade below N10 before anyone should consider buying into it.
...well, the rest is history !!

Elsewhere, Chief WAPCO 'progressed' up to N15.40 today.
We won't see those initially mocking the coy now. ...but of course if by tomorrow it loses even a Kobo, u will hear from them. grin grin grin

It is well.

a drop of 5k in EPS from prior year is bad? chai, is this your idea of #GreatExpectations

are you based in Nigeria, how is the general economic climate?

oh boy get down to mother earth (aka reality)

Less pacy efficiency, but REWARD still ahead of RISK.
...MoS arbitrage still intact.

Sold off though, after I gave a guide with the post above.
Coy retains a mid to long term investment play.
...another opportunity beckons.(price against reward margin in view)

It is well.

This stock is 6.95 with an expected dividend of 25kobo. It is sad that FBNH has been unable to recover any significant loans losses written off in the past.

UPL:
Earnings pressure persist.
Difficulty in goods-to-cash conversion rate.
Strain in trade receivables.
Some improvement from previous stand though(QoQ trend in view)

Only for long termers. Otherwise, best to observe from the side line.

BETA GLASS:
Cost line taking a little too much away from feasible return.(MoS with price against FVE in view)
...urgent need for cost optimization.
Risk remains subdued but posing a serious challenge to REWARD.
FCFE line under pressure.

Short to Mid term play; wait and look out for a slice in margin for higher ROI.(expected return against actual reward in view)
Price needs to drop a bit.(a 30-42% cut wouldn't be such a bad idea)
Long term play; Hold.

From risk-return trade-off perspective, why lose your paper profit waiting for release of results, hmm? If excellent results after, then you have a second crack or plan for re-entry via waiting for pull-backs or for price to gravitate towards a moving average etc. Always a second chance in the mkts regardless...

On point...
Book your profit first...
Wait....
And then look for other opportunities..
Its just a matter of time...
It will surely come...

Very sluggish, though facing the right direction, elephants normally go round obstacles, never jumping over them, that is the problem here..... grin

Looking at where FBNH is coming from.... i can only applaud this result. Even if them scrape from EPS, i go still hail them. The 50% drop in NPL's is remarkable. If they sustain the trend in 2020, FBNH will easily do N80bn. Na then the party go start.

But they will start sharing another Loans to their friends. ...since the previous management the gave the NPL were rewarded handsomely with gana must come bags

Again the part in bold is why I always highlight the thing about how inherent RISK relates to feasible REWARD !!

Like I always tell folks;
"In finding the right equilibrium between RISK and REWARD(MoS with risk-return in view), the PRICE(u pay) for an asset is EVERYTHING !!"

...and hear this;
"When u see an asset of VALUE where the plausible rate of return/REWARD(MoS against potential ROI in view) has run @ a much faster pace than(@ premium to) the SUM OF its PRICE and surrounding RISK, RUN IN, because PRICE 'is ready' to chase VALUE !!"

Salah
bigjay01:

100% EPS improvement from prior period

An asset that currently describes how potential REWARD makes a mockery of RISK.
...see post above.

However, the problem of liquidity means that risk can 'bite into' reward in TIME.(time value for money in view)
Like I always tell folks;

"In the stock market world, the conscious and proper use of TIME is just as important as ur INVESTING STRATEGY and twice as much as KNOWLEDGE in the search for VALUE !!"
~Sinclair

Good asset? Yes !!
Value driven? Sure !!
...but there are better fishes out there.
Inference: BUY, if ur investment horizon fits into the long term. ...otherwise, direct ur search elsewhere.

NOTE: Still NOT a recommendation.

...and if u understood the part in bold, u would know that buying into the stock @ any price above 30k would be tantamount to paying a premium(overpaying) for LASACO INSURANCE.

Simple math;
N1.20/4 = 30k (potential N1.20 price projection over a 1 for 4 share reconstruction)

The interpretation of this is that unless there is more to what the company(management) has put out in public, the current mkt price of 27k only presents a 3k(approx 11%) upside potential in view of the reconstruction and recapitalization plans by the firm !!

Always best to look before u leap.

NEM:
Accelerating efficiency.
Better combined against loss ratio.
...drive for higher reward against risk.
Improved valuation.

For those looking to key in, be hungry for any pullback.
For those already in, HOLD !!

LASACO:
