ChinenyeN: Chinenyenwa, you have acquired good number of days on earth to understand there are trolls with silly questions on the Internet and such foolish questions need tactful approach. I do know you have the acumen to handle such trolls with cleverer responses than you have shown. Igbo or Igbo land is definitely not limited to SE, thus whatever is SE. British divided certain geographical areas for the purpose of economic convenience and interest not to recreate ethnicity. The realms of ethnic boundaries in Nigeria did not mean anything to the colonial masters. However Nigeria/Biafra war appears to have caused havoc on the psychic of Nigerian populace where certain goons are willing to deny themselves. 2 Likes |

Dedetwo: Dedetwo, i gumafu whne kaa m gbara ra? My response was to NaijirianKing who asked a very legitimate question. The question required a pragmatic answer. Should I not have responded again? Is NaijirianKing a troll or is he a proud and maybe fanatical "Igboist"? A marna a kaa ngburu okhii. Do you see how you were so quick to jump and respond to me? "What is this arrant nonsense?" - Dedetwo Your knee-jerking was in overdrive to the point that you did not even bother to read the context of my response. You did not even bother to see that I was responding to a legitimate question by one of your fellow staunch Igboists. Is this sort of thing the legacy that you all want to continue giving the rest of the world? As for the bolded, nkara m ehi odo. So ehi odo, we will discuss that. It's almost vexing that I have to provide this much explanation for such a simple statement. Anyhow, for the sake of responding to NaijrianKing's legitimate question as pasted below: NaijirianKing: Igbo is very much limited to SE states. It is not that complicated, if you actually care about making progress with the least amount of friction possible. |

NaijirianKing: WEN I HEAR YORUBAS CLAIMING THAT THEIR PORT IS THE MOST PROFITABLE IN NIGERIA. I START WONDERING IFTHEY HAVE A MENTAL PROBLEM OF SOME SOUGHT. HOW CAN THIS PEOPLE CLAIM MOST PROFITABLE PORT AND TOTALLY DISREGARD THE FACT THE EASTERN COAST AND PORTS WERE SACRIFICED BECOS ALL THEIR GOODS GO TO LAGOS AND THEY HAVE TO TRAVEL FOR 8 HOURS TO REACH THE EAST BY ROAD, AND THE ENTIRE SS REGION IS COASTAL. WAT THE BRITISH MANAGE TO ACHIEVE WITH NIGERIA IS WEALTH TRANSFER FROM THE EAST TO WEST AND NORTH AND NOW ALL THAT IS ABOUT TO UNRAVEL. THE MOST PROFITABLE PORT IN NIGERIA IS CALABAR. Y? BECOS IT PROVIDES LAND LOCKED COUNTRIES LIKE SOUTH SUDAN, CENTRAL AFRICA REPUBLIC AND EVEN CONGO AND ETHIOPIA ACCESS TO THE SEA, AS WELL AS CHAD, NIGER AND SE, NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHERN NIGERIA ACCESS TO THE SEA.

ChinenyeN A decade has come and gone with you arguing with an Ngwa like myself and you haven’t learned anything? You have not researched to expand your knowledge, even if to find support for your pan-Igbo, nationalistic Igbo agenda? Ọ dị ogoozu. Ngwaland is not contiguous with Ijawland. So what Ngwa-Ijaw relationship do you speak of? You talking of mobile Ijaw fishermen and their market fronts in Ngwaland? That's not peculiar to Ngwa. They have it all over the place. There is a place called Kalabari beach in Oguta area. Unless you are now claiming that Ndoki is Ngwa, like many Ngwas like to do, which we know don't sit well with Nde Ndoki. This is why you will always remain paranoid. You base your idea of Igbo on something that isn't even agreeable by the "Igbo" themselves. You now have to work around the clock to build your defenses because your ideology cannot even stand on its own two feet. You spend your time treating it like some precious glass commodity. Every human unity is fragile and must be treated as such always. Even the simplest of them which marriage represents is no different. There must be conscious effort to preserve the unity, if not, it will all fall apart. Even in clan basis. There must be conscious and constant effort to discuss points of disagreements, manage anger and revenge, as well as peaceful resolution of conflicts amongst members. In my village, we do lots of meeting during Christmas period, starting from extended family level to village meetings and then town hall meeting. It's been that way since establishment of the town. It's applicable in all Igbo towns. Our ancestors knew that unity is never stumbled upon, neither can it survive without conscious unianimous effort by members to preserve it. So yes, Igbo Unity is no different. It must be treated like a glass, pampered, defended from enemies within and outside, nurtured and given wings to take us to the moon and beyond ! 5 Likes |

Actually, ChinenyeN suggestion of Igboland being limited to SE might be too bitter a pill to swallow, but it's a logical conclusion, and might actually heal us all, if we can swallow it. 1 Like |

NaijirianKing: Eh... You've lost me at the bolded, but then again, I guess it is to be expected when we factor in your desire to enforce your code. That said, the rest of your comment is at least 80% sensible. I only deduct 10%, because I believe it is reasonable to imagine that your set of predefined criteria will be both aggressive and arbitrary. Aside from that, this (in opinion) is the best way to begin forward movement while facing the least amount of friction. |

pazienza: Uvuvu l'ezi yeee. I could sit here and waste my time telling you a narrative that would just fall on your dense ears. Instead, I'll just say forget that Ngwa people ever said anything. Forget it for one second and inquire about what Bonny itself said to Europeans about its own past. Inquire about what the Ijaw themselves said about their sojourn in the area before moving further down to Bonny. I know you love being dense with all your heart. That's fine, but at least do your research. pazienza: There is a difference between engaging in fellowship because you share a sense of identity, no matter how local, and engaging in an everlasting game of self-defense, because you want to force shared identity on others. Your "Igbo Unity" is the later, if you don't know. I'm just informing you. But carry go. Maybe after another ten more years, your efforts may bear some fruit. |

pazienza: IGBOLAND IS NOT SHRINKING BUT EXPANDING. WAT EVER REASON U ARE RUNNING FROM IGBO IN SS, TODAY OMAMBALA AND CHINENYE HAVE SHOWN EXIST ALSO IN SE. WE WILL NOT ALLOW IGBOLAND TO SHRINK, THIS WAS THE DESIRE OF GOWON AND CO AFTER THE CIVIL WAR, WEN THEY DELIBERATELY REMOVED SECTIONS OF IGBOLAND AND ADDED TO SURROUNDING STATES AND FORCED OUR PEOPLE TO DENY THEIR IGBO IDENTITY OR BE KILLED. THEY WANTED IGBOLAND TO SHRINK. Y DID THE PEOPLE DENYING IGBO TODAY NOT DO SO BEFORE THE CIVIL WAR. I HAVE ALWAYS SAID THAT MAJOR CHUKWUMA KADUNA NZEOGWU WOULD BE SURPRISE TO FIND THAT HIS PEOPLE ARE NO LONGER IGBO. 2 Likes

PEOPLE WANT U TO SHRINK AND U ARE HELPING DEM TO SHRINK YOURSELF, WHERE IS THE WISDOM IN DAT. DO U THINK, SE WILL NOT SHRINK FURTHER AFTER THE FIRST WAVE OF SHRINKING U ASSISTED? WEN U GET SMALLER IN SIZE, IT MEANS OTHERS ARE EXPANDING, SOON U WILL BE FACE WITH FURTHER DIVISION LED BY OMAMBALA AND CHINENYE, OBI OF ONITSHA, WE HAVE IN SE. THAT WILL BE PUSHING THE AGENDA OF IGALA ANAKMBRA OR IJAW/IBIBIO ABIA, BINI.ETC A SACRED APPROACH WILL ONLY TURN A MOLE HILL INTO A MOUNTAIN. U ARE BACK TO SQUARE ONE, FACEED WITH THE SAME PROBLEM U ARE RUNNING FROM. EMBRACE IT, U SAID IT YOURSELF, WE CAME IN BATCHES, AND NOT TOGETHER. WE ARE HOPING MORE WILL COME TO JOIN, THE IGBO BROTHERHOOD IN MUCH LATER BATCHES. WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE PEOPLE WITH IDENTITY CRISIS FROM BORDER COMMUNITIES IN OUR MIDST AND IT IS FOR US TO MANAGE DEM AND PROVIDE THEM WITH THE IGBO UMBRELLA AND SHELTER. LET US JOIN TOGETHER AND MAKE IGBO GREAT AGAIN. 3 Likes |

The only way Ngwa will share a tangible relationship with Ijaw is if it is assumed that Ndoki is Ngwa or an offshoot of Ngwa, which many Ndoki people disagree with.
Are you saying Igbo groups don't have shared sense of identity? Like we never knew we were all related despite being able to understand our nearest Igbo clan language, sharing same market days with them, having similar customs? You need help, I'm sorry I'm not the one to help you. Igbo identity has always been a subconscious thing. We never acted on it before colonialism, but we knew we were interlinked, our ancestors couldn't be that dumb not to know. 2 Likes |

hammerU: You actually have a point. If we concede areas of Igboland outside South East to our detractors and their fifth columnists within us, who is to say they will stop there and not seek to shrink SE furthermore? I think it might be better to have the SS Igbo areas as a buffer zone. A wise man once told me: "Oburu na ana azo oke, zoru nke gi, zorukwa nke ndi ozo tinye na nke gi. Ka oga abu mgbe ekpeweru Ikpe udo, I nweru nke ndi ozo I zotaa, nwe mee udo, ma ofu nke gi ama efunaru gi". 5 Likes |
