Not an Ighalo fan and I've never hidden it, don't like strikers who manages 1 or 2 goals out of 10 chances, also strikers who don't contribute asides finishing. But i love to see my countrymen flourish and he's alright, whether it works out or not, I am super excited to see a Nigerian in the Red Devil's shirt, since the days of Fredrick Okoro, the first Nigerian origin footballer to get involved with United and dorn the hallowed red shirt. Good luck to him.

Errrrm! I wouldn't mind bringing him back for the sole reason that his status as a United Striker would make us look deadly on paper, also it would be on record that "a super eagle played for United" unlike what it seems now, bkus as a retiree, he is going to United as mere Nigerian professional player, not a super eagles player, u can argue he is an ex though. That said, he would not be starting, if he returns.

Ighalo is not returning to the eagles okay

He is a man of his words

Thank you

Rohr made sure he finished top scorer in two tournaments, do you know what that did to his resume?
I tell you, i dont think there is any player of recent memory who has done that. Most of us here underrate ighalo and see where his perseverance has take him to.

Gernot Rohr really helped Ighalo so much in his career

How?

U sure are one of those who think everything good about the black man must happen through a white man. Ighalo is going to United on the interim though, bkus he is more or less a proven EPL striker, not bkus Rohr is his national team coach, he deserves the full credit for this success, dont try crediting it to someone else.

Can u name the two tournaments? Did he not deserve his place in the team? So how exactly did Rohr help him?

Then, he aint gonna have that record as the first super eagles player to play for Man United, since the move came after his retirement from the national team. Nawa oo. I pray he rescinds his decision, even say na only one match him play for us as a United player mbok

People (like you) were pressuring Rohr to experiment with Osimhen in the qualifiers as it was almost certain we would qualify

But Rohr kept faith with Ighalo in the qualifiers and in the main tournament

If Rohr had played 3-4 strikers in the qualifiers and the tournament would Ighalo had finished top scorer?

All those reviewing his resume mentioned those statistics so don't make this a black man - white man thing

In the qualifiers? How many call ups did Osimhen get in the qualifiers for people like you to pressurise Rohr to play him as our main striker? Do you even know when the qualifiers started and when Osimhen started finding his feet at Charleroi?

I ask again, which two tournaments was Ighalo crowned the goal king, courtesy of Rohr's favouritism abi helping hand?

Of course he deserves some credit. If he had been thinking like people like u Ighalo would still be in China. Yes he is a proven prem player but the AFCON gave him the platform to prove that he still has something in his tank and without Rohr that would absolutely never happen.

No other coach would have the balls to call back Ighalo.

Stop making incoherent statements, did Man United sign Ighalo because of his goals haul against those log of woods?

I actually thought u would know better, did Rohr have any better choice? Ighalo was the best choice, hence, it was no brainer. Nacho was misfiring, Osimhen was unproven, it would have been preposterous contemplating leaving Ighalo behind cobsidering his form prior the tourney. U think Rohr the messiah would have looked his way if he was misfiring?

And why would any reasonable coach play 3-4 strikers while his main striker hasnt been found guilty of profligacy? He earned those stats, they were not given to him by Rohr, in fact, Man United would think his stats a fluke if they viewed it through this same lens as u, and the deal would have probably not gone through

Did u accept that decision at the time? So China is no more a useless league? Didn't you post a Mikel interview in a bid to discredit Ighalo?

Onuachu and Simy were double digit scorers at the time btw

Rohr didn't listen to clamors from people like you that's why he kept faith with him in the qualifiers and in the tournament proper

Don’t turn around to be Ighalo's no 1 defender, it is well documented what you said against him in this thread

This isnt about Chris and what his stance was, this is about Ighalo, his stats and merits. I never kicked against his inclusion because i wasnt sold on Onuachu. Yes i called his chinese exploit a fluke but we had no better options. Hey, i have never rated Simmy, also he never had any double digits

Simy scored double digits last season but I give u that point. Still u can be honest in saying that if Rohr drops Ighalo for Simy no one would have bated an eye.

Your stance was the stance of most Nigerians. Imagine if a local coach had to make that decision? His wife might stop cooking for him sef grin. I remember being at the first training session Ighalo had before playing Libya. Every reporter I talked to was against his inclusion. There was more pressure on Rohr to drop him than to select him. If it had backfired it could have cost Rohr his job so u can't say Rohr doesn't deserve credit in this situation

First Nigerian, born in Nigeria - Yes

First ex Nigerisn international - Yes

First Nigerian origin player - No, this belongs to Fred Okoro Nkwo, way back before the WW2.

But i want something more than this, I want a current super eagles player donning that red shirt, and since Ighalo is already there, I want him back with the eagles mbok.

Imagine say we release a list, and the status of the invited strikers are like..;

- Ighalo Manchester United

- Iheanacho Leicester City

- Osimhen Lille Metropole

If na u be the opponent, fear no go catch u? grin

In essence, it should be Rohr thanking Ighalo for helping him keep his job, not the other way round.

I find it very funny that so many Manchester United fans on my contact list will quickly post status when the club signs players but they've all been silent since Ighalo was signed. Not even one person posted the news on their status.

If it's Dalot, Rojo or James they'll jump quickly at the news but when it's their country man they all went into ghost mode.

Go to FrontPage or even twitter and see how some people are bashing and talking down the club for signing him. It's super annoying. We should be happy and support our own.

I wish him the best. I pray he delivers and prove them wrong. Up Eagles!

I think Ighalo will do well. I will be praying for him.
