Suspension of entry for Immigrants, except as Special Immigrants whose eligibility is based on having provided assistance to the U.S. Government.

Can someone with better English understanding translate the bold part to me in my local lang tongue So the US want us to leak our country information or what?
yes like mole or snitch, and also on human rights abuses

Lol,It might be very possible that Donald Trump included Nigeria on that list because of that Nigerian Guy that insulted/threatened him via twitter.

My understanding of the part in bold is that Nigerians can no longer immigrate to the US except those that have acted as moles for the US government. Very harsh and unnecessary.

The Federal government should engage the US government diplomatically to get the restriction reversed. If Trump insist on keeping the restriction after all necessary engagements, we should consider a reciprocal decision.

"Reciprocal decision"

Let me just pretend you don't know the grammar you just vomited. Nigeria should seize to sell oil to them or what do you mean lol. Your country that can not even help themselves with HIV retrovira drugs, your're here speaking "Reciprocal decision".

Hope Buhari and his gang of muslim fulanis are now happy. After ruling the country to shatters for donkey years since 1967?

MNK should please intensify his efforts to get Biafrans out of the shitthole. He should also find a way to educate Trump and Americans on the difference between Biafrans and other Nigerians who are mainly muslims.

We need to get out fast. We don't even need a referendum, it's too late and it will likely be rigged by efulefus and unprogressives.

As Long as the North continues to Run Nigeria, the country is going no where, It will continue to be ridiculed by the rest of the world
Unfortunately The Yorubas who are more intelligent in the country have become beggarly to Hausa Fulani, They hold not important position
They have been sacked from every high position even in the Military and they smile sheepishly to Hausa while destroying the future of their kids and the coming generation
Hausa control virtually everything
Dont Blame the Ibos they are not part of the game, they want out of Nigeria

Businesses going to negotiate deals with US companies also help the United states government, resources persons going to make presentations or deliver lectures falls within the category, skilled professionals on the invitation of US hosts also qualifies etc

Its spousal Visa category also applies in these restrictions?like fiancee Visa and marriage certificate applications?someone please clear me

It’s clear they’re all included If the person has not been issued a visa already before the ban takes effect on Feb 22, in fact those categories you mentioned are the main targets of the ban. Moving forward, everyone will need exception to be granted immigrant visa, which chances are very slim when there’s a travel restriction

Yea, "reciprocal" decision. A lizard that confuses itself as an alligator. Guess you did not read the article to see why the restrictions were imposed. The presence of too many educated illiterates is the major problem of Nigeria.

A leading Tanzanian politician who launched a crackdown on homosexuality has been banned from visiting the United States, the US State Department said.

In a statement dated Friday, the US said the sanctions on Paul Christian Makonda, the Regional Commissioner of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania's economic capital, come amid Washington's growing concerns about basic freedoms in the East African nation.

"These actions against Paul Christian Makonda underscore our concern with human rights violations and abuses in Tanzania," the statement read.

FAMILY

Both Makonda and his wife, Mary Felix Massenge, are now barred from visiting the US.

"The Department of State is publicly designating Paul Christian Makonda... due to his involvement in gross violations of human rights, which include the flagrant denial of the right to life, liberty, or the security of persons," the statement read.
"He has also been implicated in oppression of the political opposition, crackdowns on freedom of expression and association, and the targeting of marginalised individuals."

In October 2018, Makonda announced a project to hunt down homosexuals.

President John Magufuli later distanced himself from this initiative, explaining that it did not reflect the views of his government.
CONCERNS

But it comes amid rising criticism of Magufuli by watchdogs for his human rights record.

"The United States remains deeply concerned over deteriorating respect for human rights and rule of law in Tanzania," the statement read.

"We call on the Tanzanian government to respect human rights and fundamental freedoms, including the freedom of expression, association, and the right of peaceful assembly," it added.

the fact is that Buhari is trading with Russia and China and this is worrisome to US, with Russia aggreeing to complete Ajaokuta, and even promissing to build us two nuclear plant with a soft loan on top of that they gave us Apache helicopters which Americans would want us to wait till 2022 after paying 300million usd for mere super tucano turbo prop plane (planes with fan engine, not jet) this is upseting Trump

Over Staying rate of US visa by Nigerians have drastically reduced because of reduced Visa issuiance, even when it was on the rise Trump did nothing until we started looking for trade with the russians

Oloshi Trump and his Dumb supporters, Nigeria doesnt need your VISA, we dont need you aids, andwe dont need you stashing our Abacha loot, what we need are simply

*Stop Blocking our access to use our own uranium to have nuclear powers
*Stop stopping am sales from other countries to us
*Stop recieving our looted fund and seizing it for your own development
*Stop blocking our attempts at using coal with useless paris agreemnet even when you are still using coal plants

.

You are one of the few who understand what is actually going on, and am really impress with the way you have articulated it and I expect even the dumbest guy to get the message.

Trump is having more enemies than friend for the united state, and some dumb ass on this forum thinks he is the next big thing after burger. I expect our government to retaliate by imposing higher tariff on all made in usa products and their business concern in nigeria. The war against terror in Nigeria take a turn for the worst because they refuse to sell the technologies we need to us, sighting abuse of power by our military, while the white cops at that time were killing the African american at every available opportunity.

I will be more disappointed if the buhari administration let this lie low because other country will follow suit and that will compound our already compounded problems.

Nigeria is definitely going to be on that list forever .. we don’t have a centralized identity management system .. any Fulani herdsman , terrorist , murderer or armed robber can commit a crime in Kano serve his time or pay his way out and move to lagos to start life over .. there is no way for the US to verify his criminal background when he is applying for an immigrant visa .. and the Bunch of Nigerians adjusting status in the US, after biometrics , can only have the FBI reports of their activities since arrival in the US and not their criminal activities while they were in Nigeria which is also very important. We have a long way to go

There is a country in Africa that fixed theirs in a year and they were excluded. This is not a surprise. They had informed everyone since last year. Clueless government
Re: Travel Ban On Nigeria: Official US Statement by Neoteny(m): 12:23pm On Feb 01, 2020
Three things:

1. The US did not ban Nigerian Muslims, they've banned ALL Nigerians from migrating to the US. Those calling Buhari names and aligning him with terrorism should please note.

2. Those saying Nigeria should quickly comply should note that it is not government's business to facilitate economic migration. However, for the sake of global security and international reputation, it's fine to coordinate security standards.

3. Only igboes are more particularly pained with this, because it reduces their ability to help develop the US.

The ban should stay. Let Nigerian stop cooperating with the US on the war against crimes and see what would happen. They would speedily reverse the ban. The thing is that most US state department staff in nigeria would not be happy with this ban knowing Nigeria is one of the most pro American countries in Africa

We have a lot of bargaining chips. This country is home to numerous US business interests. FBI has established network of affiliates with EFCC. Use these to bend them to do whatever you want. We are simply too big for this ban if we twist them at the right spots. They would blink first
