charlesemeka85: What matters to you is three points. What matters to me is City keeps improving in our plays. In the long run favorable results will come. |

Every coach has tactics and style that bring out the genius in them and that was what Jose did masterfully today. Pep is known to be all about ball possession and high pressing while Jose is renowned for his deep playing style, quick counters and robust football which worked for him today. I saw the game and spurs were top notch judging by how Jose sets up his teams. Also his subs were top notch which made it more difficult for city to get a single goal. Football tactical acumen no be only when u hold possession for almost the duration of the game but doing the needful and getting the required result TheGoodJoe: 7 Likes 1 Share |

Oga if truly u re a city fan you will agree with me that they hv been below par judging by their standards 2 seasons ago and epl coaches have figured out how to nullify their threat unlike when pep came on board. Imagine solkjaer winning pep twice in the space of 2 weeks with the likes of lingard, matic, marshal, Pereira, James etc and here u re with claims that they re getting better TheGoodJoe: 2 Likes 1 Share |

Kalu failed to make the match day squad for the second week running while Maja didn't come off the bench. This isn't looking good for Kalu. |

charlesemeka85: Below par means zilch when you are picking games. What matters is what happens in a long run. If you study trends, sometimes it goes up, sometimes down. What happens is what goes on in a long run. The best way to determine the future is how the team plays. If they start the league now, in a long run, solkjear) solksjaer will still not be above City. 1 Like |

charlesemeka85: Top notch bomb. Tottenham were played off the park. Manchester City missed good chances. Do you remember the Aguero miss where Lloris was on the ground and a little dink would have been a goal? Penalty miss? Was that due to Mastermind brilliance of Mourinho? Coach have their tactics. Some are to win games and brag. Others are to Create legacies that will change the face off football. Guardiola came and changed English football forever. That shows he is a genius, not winning by luck and claiming Mastermind. 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe:bros I never told u that Ole is better than pep or has a better team but with the current united team pep suppose flog the team 10 times if they meet in a season. And the long run you are talking about is after spending close to a billion pounds since he took over city they re yet to atleast feature in the UCL finals and likely to be knocked out by madrid in the same competition this season. I think the owners of city will be daft to spend close to a billion pounds just to win the epl that leceister won without spending close to 100m |

TheGoodJoe:I never told you he doesn't hv a legacy and rated among the greatest ever in the game but only trying to make u understand that Jose outsmarted him same as Ole and few coaches in the epl hv done this season. Jose also hv a legacy and among the greatest too |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by charlesemeka85(m): 11:55pm On Feb 02, 2020 |
TheGoodJoe: Were you expecting Jose to outplay pep coached team? It hv never happened before and will never happen. Their style and philosophy approaching a game differs but you have to accept the bitter truth that Jose masterfully got the desired 3 points which many never thought was possible. That's tactical masterclass |

charlesemeka85: Amateur talk when you say because of players one is suppose to flog another ten times. Is it table tennis? If money wins titles, PSG would have won the league back to back. Guardiola did not buy Sterling, De Bruyne, Aguero, Fernandinho, Otamendi. So all those talk of money is story. Leicester City won the league, we hear. Manchester City won the league back to back with 198 points. Money alone can not give you that without brilliance. It took hours to teach the team to pass that way. To press that way, run that way. Teaching them how to use spaces, track back with intensity. If you remove the spec of bias in your eyes, you will appreciate the work to achieve greatness. Do you know what it means to play a midfielder who has never played in Central defence as your main midfielder? Is that money? Converting Zinchenko from a midfielder to a left back for a whole season? All you guys see is he spent money. Na wa. |

charlesemeka85: The visitors could have been out of sight by half-time as in a recurring theme of their season, the champions were wasteful in front of goal. (Guardian). Excerpt from Guardian. This is just the plain fact. If you like argue about tactical acumen when Guardiola totally outplayed Mourinho. There was no tactical acumen there but us being wasteful in chances to thrash Tottenham. |

TheGoodJoe:wasteful iin front of goal na their cup of tea and they should deal with it. Spurs has the 3 points and that can't be changed. They also missed chances twice that Ole hv won them this season 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe: I will continue saying it. Jose's spurs team were masterly set up to win the game which was achieved. Chances are meant to be missed in games so the unfortunate team should deal with that. Jose' team had 3 shots and converted 2 while city had over 8 but didn't convert any but the major point is getting the results 1 Like |

charlesemeka85: Masterfully set up and City was walking through them like an axe through the air. Stop making mockery of the word Masterful. They were lucky City were not as clinical as they can be in front of goals. Finish. Even with a man down, they were still picked apart. Just celebrate the win. Do not make something ordinary look amazing. People have been watching football for too long to buy fake talks. |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 12:10am On Feb 03, 2020 |
charlesemeka85: Missed chances -- City had 18 chances compared to Tottenham's three -- were the main reason for the defeat, with one of those misses coming from the penalty spot when Ilkay Gundogan's effort was saved by Hugo Lloris. From ESPN Read and learn. This is from ESPN. Mourinho was ripped apart in the game. We just did not take our chances. There was nothing special in what Mourinho did. You can learn or keep swimming in false notions. |

Converting a midfielder to a left back is not a big deal conte convert moses from a winger to a RWB and moses became world class player .. TheGoodJoe: 2 Likes 1 Share |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by charlesemeka85(m): 12:26am On Feb 03, 2020 |
TheGoodJoe: If a player like John o'shea can be deployed to the goal post, saved a one on one and kept a clean sheet then its not a big deal converting a left footed midfielder to a lb. Even Gerard for sometime now deploys aribo to the flanks |
