Good morning Fam' **Asked this on the other application process thread, but permit me to ask 'Seniors' here too please** Quick question please. After getting PR, if I meet another PR in Canada and we fall in love and want to marry, how does that work? And what are the possible implications (if any)? 3 Likes |

Itzpearlz: If you're both in Canada, I doubt if there are any implications. Just go ahead with your marriage plans, so long as its officially documented. P.S Where are you people meeting to fall in love o? P.P.S. Is there any Tiv person here by any chance? Weird, but I miss speaking my language !!! 12 Likes |

etrange: Lol!! I learnt the hard way not to imagine too much, but you never know !!! The first (and only) person from Benue state I met in Canada was a lady Uber driver. We were talking and when she found we were from the same state, she screamed "Abole" (good morning) and almost went thru the roof with excitement. She was so excited we missed our way!!! Unfortunately we both didn't grow up in Benue, so I can't speak Idoma and she can't speak Tiv. We've been good friends since that time. She even helped me move my things to my new place, free of charge. Male or female, its nice to see "kinsmen" in faraway lands, especially those of us from minority ethnic groups. 42 Likes |

*Reposting here for possible insights* Kindly advice on the appropriate NOC to use in this instance: Hold a lecturing position in a University in Nigeria but left on a leave without pay since 2016 for a Postdoctoral fellowship outside the country. The postdoc lasted till 2018. On another fellowship since 2018, but this time outside a University. Question now is - to maximize points on work experience, is 4011, the NOC for University Professor still applicable in this case? Or look for a more appropriate NOC fitting the JD of the current fellowship which is less than 2 years experience. Any insights on this will be appreciated. |

Remember that it is proof of address that you require the statement for, wherever it was delivered to, what address is stated on the statement is where you can use it. I however do not know if it can be used province wide. prost80: |

Jbelieve: I had a ninja license from 2011 that was real unto my eyes and in the eyes of police and road safety. Had to go do a new one in 2018, was told it was fake, applied for a new one, got it in March 2018 (I made sure it wasn't fake). Before I travelled, I got an extract from FRSC, my date of first issue was March, 2018. I landed September 2019, my ninja license was a year plus now. In Alberta, I was able to do a cbt test, a road test, passed and got a class 5 GDL. By the 29th of March, 2020, I will be eligible to do a road test and obtain my class 5 advance. So if you check, by 29th of March, my ninja license would have been 2 years (730 days). Please get the letter from FRSC, and be very sure your njnja license is not fake, be very sure. 6 Likes 3 Shares |

Let me give you an insight into Ontario licensing... Everyone must take the knowledge base test which give you a G1 license. If you dont have an original Nigeria driver's license, you have to go to their driving school/wait for a year before you can take the G2 road test. If you have an original nigeria driver's license which is less than 2 years old + frsc driving reference letter => you are eligible to do the G2 road test only immediately, then after a year you can do the G road test. If you have an original nigeria driver's license which is over 2 years old + frsc driving reference letter => you are eligible to do the G road test immediately (only 1 attempt), if you fail, you go back to start from G2 road test, then after a year you can do the G road test again. Some people like myself decided to do the G2 road test first, after passing before doing the G road test because like I said it's only 1 attempt you have. Jbelieve: 14 Likes 21 Shares |

damilola1978: Hi, please can you clarify. My license is less than 1 year but that is because i just renewed. My first issuance was 10 years ago. So are they looking only at the current license or the date of first issuance? |

RuudVanNisteroy:I wonder why it is convenient for people to just write what they dont know about. I live in quebec and thank God I am "struggling". I won't argue much but it is better to experience than to draw conclusions from the experience of a few people. Yes Nigerians are leaving Quebec in droves to Ontario or elsewhere because of the language barrier. I was the only English speaking guy where I was employed I took it with open arms and learnt my French on the go. Now I speak fluent french and now I have the whole of Canada right in my hands. Applied and Got another job with Air Canada. French speaking was the edge I had. I moved to Manitoba as that is where I am stationed. Depending on what you want, u can make ur decision. My kids also speak better French than me. I did not limit myself or my kids in a country where we plan to live for God knows how long. Please if because of the experience of few people u are drawing conclusions be careful. As a rule if I have not experienced anything I dont comment, you can't be living in Lagos and be saying the way El Rufai is ruling Kaduna is bad. You know nothing. 32 Likes 2 Shares |
