So guys, I feel is should share this info I got from an in-house cacus.

Yesterday, they relieved over 5k senior staff off their duties. So that means we're getting our paths cleared up, our triumphant entry is soon.

The members of staff they sacked are those that served for over 20years.

Well, can this be a factor to determine our resumption?

And does it mean that the maximum year of service in a position is 20years ??

Could that years of service be the reason for the sack or some other criteria could have been compared too??

@DonYza, Please shed more light on this if you know, or any person too

20years ain't maximum tho. Some served for over 30years.

I guess they were assessed, like KPIs amongst other factors. Not really sure per say

D news is true.

This also means some staffs will soon be promoted to fill the available senior staff positions

Its similar to what UBA did few weeks ago wer long time serving staffs were relieved. Some others were promoted, new employees wer recruited too and salary was increased by 50%-150%.

If FBN is doing smtn similar, i hope thy dnt forget d salary part

With this new minimum wage, FBN should increase their salary scale

I didn't doubt the news... I made that statement because I feel that the rate of retrenchment within the banking industry in recent times doesn't feel good.

One other thing abt ds laying offs has to do with promotion. The higher the level of hierarchy, the smaller the no of positions e.g. Thr cn only be one GM. So staffs that are left out during promotion cos other staffs outperformed nd had d necessary qualifications run the risk of being part of those dt may be laid off. Wteva dept u get determines the kind of experience u acquire (some experiences are more relevant i.e. more marketable) . Thats why staffs with relevant experience and qualification that miss out on promotion apply to other banks or companies for similar position that thy wld av bn promoted to in thr current org ( Most banks and companies dnt do graduate trainee programs cos of the crazy expenses attached to it, they rather go for experience hire and pay dem well).

Secondly, things are changing fast. During my dad's time, training only lasted for 3 days and thy wer posted to branches to learn other tins on the job. Dts y fraud cases wer plenty then. All this bad experiences and mistakes av bn factored in today's training making it last for 3 months now (e.g. prison visit). Though, its a normal tin for employees to be trained regularly thrby making them adaptable to current economic environment bt oda factors like employees nt responding to training due to generation gap or let me say the 'old cargo' syndrome (finding it difficult to und wt younger generations wld easily grasp) come to play wen making decisions like ds.

Career planning is key.

You can!! I b better hustler

Let me tell a u story bt pls completely remove the bragging notion it might bring

During my nysc days, i was posted to Sapele. Wen i realised only wednesdays ws my busy day ( sch nd cds) , i moved to my cousins place in Warri nd got a teaching job (20k: To teach Pri1-5, Jss1-3 PHE) after explaining to dem dt am a corper and i wld b needing my wednesdays wich meant i wld close early(11am) on wed. This also means i travel to Sapele evry wed (35 mins journey) to do al nysc stuff (sch nd cds) nd return to Warri dt same day.

Inbetween juggling btwn Warri nd Sapele as explained above, doing lots of chores given to me by my cousin's wife ( You knw hw unnice female inlaws can be cos u r living wit dem), i was still preparing hard on my own (no lectures, no reading partner) for my ican exams (foundation level: all 5 papers). Guess wat, wen results came out i had d overall best result in the country including 2 out of 5 subject prizes getting over 90% in 3 out of 5 subjects at my first attempt at the professional exam. If you av anyone dt got inducted May 2019 after qualifying through nov 2018 diet, check the induction brochure, u wil find me there (As prize winner, foundation level)

So believe me wen i tell u dt if 'bank stress' and goldimx jam, bank stress go crumble ni!!!!!

What's the essence of prison visit during training?

To create a real life picture of wer thy will end up at the back of thr mind if found guilty of any financial crime. Its similar to some tins we see and just wish we can unsee. D unpleasant image will always pop up if d person thinks of any financial crime.

Its a foreign concept that was recently adopted by companies in 9ja after longitudinal research studies proved its success in reducing financial crimes abroad. Nw dts foreign prisons oo, nigerian prisons are worse.

In my yr3 days, my class was taken on an excursion to one prison in Ekiti state, trust me its hell on earth, those prisoners are deprived of literally evry basic tin in life, evn oxygen sef na contaminated oxygen.

Nigerian prisons are terrible abeg!

None of us may likely attend to this, but I think justice has been done to is on this thread.

Just check page 16-20 on this thread, the question is probably answered there.

I dnt knw abt u but am one of those pple that enjoy learning, always eager to learn and grow evryday, especially wen it comes to academics, career and money and u knw wat they say about doing wat u enjoy.

We all passsed through school so i knw wat stress is and i personally crave for it as long as its connected to growth, success and money.

So concerning FBN, am looking forward to enjoying the stress in TS. Infact, i dnt evn see d stress in learning in an air-conditioned classroom, getting paid monthly and being served a meal twice daily.
dont worry
you'll soon see the stress
