IyaTola:
Let me analysis the far reaching effect of the #OkadaBan and Keke to Nigerians.

1. Increase in Crime Rate.
2. Increase in cost of living
3. Loss of lives during an emergency.
4. Low sale of Fuel for Filling Stations.
5. No more sale Vulcanizers
6. Increase in Lateness to work
And why are people not even thinking about the health implications of these decisions made by the government!!

To be frank, all these complaints are but for a while. How did you think people residing in states where this already took place felt when it was implemented?
There were VERY FEW buses, of course the prices of the buses you would see were hiked, you would stand under the sun for long minutes before seeing even one bus, other times you would be forced to TREK because you couldn't wait anymore for what seemed like forever.
It was so hard... even though it wasn't funny and there were a lot of complaints, we KNEW this was the SURE WAY to sanitize the state, to safeguard lives and have the environment look like human beings were indeed the inhabitants and not wild animals(with the way non buses were driving like no other human was on the roads except them, even pushing out pedestrians from their side of the walk.)
The trek was difficult but funny enough, good for the health!

But NOW? A breath of fresh air. You're happy to see sanity when you step into traffic. At least you can walk comfortably with no one pushing you into the gutter.
Soon enough EVERYONE will get used to it. More and more buses will come out till it's completely normal again.

So endure, good things don't come easy. You'll sweat it, but you'll enjoy the harvest.

Only hoping that Lagos will INDEED become sane after this, because Lagos?? Another place on earth entirely. LOL

Manufacturers of tricycles popularly know as keke in Nigeria should add one more leg(Tyre) to the front and it will become motor vehicle, then they come back to the road to continue their work. Let Sawo Olu come and call it tricycle again.

You did not see the Aguda to Eric part abi undecided
Just put a Google map image with the distance indicated.
Once, I felt strong, I walked 11km in 2½hrs.
Another day I felt weak, I walked same 11km in 4hrs.
Because I spent more time, someone would think I walked further .
No. I walked same 11km distance

op is right about the tanker traffic night mare, that ought to have been resolved first.

Me thinks someone wants to set up a monopoly on road transport in lagos and is trying to eliminate the competition.

i usually don't drive my car on mondays due to lagos traffic.

i took a bus to obalende this morning and was forced to trek from obalende to VI.

To be honest i enjoyed the 35 minutes trekking.

As for me, i prefer the bikes and keke do not come back.

Lets trek as we use to do and improve our health.

its trekking for me every monday morning.

Modified
For those of you raining insult on me. I only shared my personal experience this morning o!
I am not Lagos state government and I do not justify the ban for the general public.
Please learn to read and comprehend.
I am not responsible for anyone's misfortune in life.

My thoughts are in sync with yours on this. A little trekking here and there won't hurt a fly.

Honestly you simply shared your experience like everyone else did. Unfortunately you're like the brilliant student always asking the teacher for assignment or test.lol No one likes that.

Bottom line, consider the plight of others too. The ban doesn't favour the majority.

Your last paragraph is the real deal.

For some cities I know where similar ban took place, it is not for bikes and tricycles at the same time.

It is not in the entire state. That of Lagos is practically the whole state considering the inter-LGA people ply on day to day basis.

Their population is not the same with Lagos.

Don't look at Lagos as capital of a state or a city in a state. You don't implement such policies across board when there are no palliatives. It simply won't yield positive results.

Mr, forget keke. If not for the 'developing' (or should I say 'under developed'?) status of the country, that thing shouldn't exist.

Yeah, I remember the 'local' parts of the state were still allowed keke/bike movement.

It's going to be tough for Lagosians, I agree, but it's going to be good in the short run... soon enough.

Exactly, empowerment gone wrong. I sympathize with the Keke and okada riders. Where will they get money to repay the loan some of them collected? Lez hope Area Father, Charles Oputa, will fight for them again.

you re misunderstanding me, we cant all drive cars, we need to model our transport systems as our populations grow, the japnese use bicycles and trains inaddition to cars, indians do the same.

saying that other forms of transpirtation should be banned for buses and cars all in the name of so called development is wrong.

Lagosians, If you live around Ogba, College, Iju and Agege, pls, be wary of the metallic blue Sienna with plate number App488FH.They robbed this mrg and are still at large in Ogba right now. They pretend to be looking for passengers and they take everything from them.

Let sponsors of the event be affected. Let pressmen carry the news and let foreigners see the mess that Lagos really is. Put Sanwoolu’s hypocrisy in his face, in front of all and sundry.
