Nice write up.

No doubt a significant number of communities in Anambra and Igbo parts of Delta State have Nri Eri origin and influence.

However a huge majority of communities in Igboland have nothing to do with Eri and Nri in origin or influence. Many Igbo groups like Isu, Oka (Awka), Olu (Orlu), Adama etc were already in existence before Eri Nri migrated to Igboland.

Nze title is practiced by many communities in Imo and Abia states who are not associated with Eri Nri and do not recognize their influence and authority.

ChinenyeN:
Again, Idennaa, I encourage you to do some studying.

You just mentioned cultural practices that do not apply to large swathes of the Igbo ethnolinguistic region. Are you actually familiar/knowledgeable about the various peoples and cultures that make up this region?

At least a modicum of truth here from you. That is good.

And here we reach the crux of it. There is an entire four-thirds if not more of "Igboland" that has no recognized affiliation with the Omambala area and as such does not even recognize the seat of office that Nri sits on. There is an entire four-thirds if not more of "Igboland" that did not offer and still do not offer tributes to the seat of office that Nri sits on. There is an entire four-thirds if not more of "Igboland" that does not acknowledge or celebrate the lunar cycle that the office of Nri is in control of, but maintain entirely different calendars and lunar practices from that of the Nri seat of office.

Long story short, there is little to no ground for continuing to peddle Nri/Eri as a central figure in the narrative of the entire Igbo ethnolinguistic region. I truly encourage you to study more about Igbo people in general. There is a wealth of things to learn, and I encourage you to learn them.

You are not Igbo but a charlatan who is masquerading as Igbo with the sole aim of creating disunity among Igbos.

MelesZenawi:

Just face Abia state and stop disturbing Anambra state.

There is no Igbo , alright then face front and move with your sister ChinenyeN back to Abia and allow children of God to have peace.

There is no Igbo and you won't allow us ndigbo in anambra state to have peace.

THE ASAGBA OF ASABA MADE IT ABUNDANTLY CLEAR THAT ASABA ARE IGBOS. He is a member of the inner caucus (Ime Obi) of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo. The Asagba of Asaba was a senior officer in the Biafran Army. The late Col Achuzia (Air Raid) another senior Biafran Army infantry officer who was a prominent Asaba high chief was former secretary general of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo.

Many Anioma communities migrated from Anambra State.

The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, SAN, on Tuesday, said the recovered $308 million looted by the late former Head of State, General Sani Abacha will be used on the construction of Lagos – Ibadan Expressway, Abuja – Kano Expressway and the Second Niger bridge.

Malami said this in a press statement published on the website of the US Embassy and Consulate in Nigeria on while signing on behalf of the Nigerian government, in Malami’s words, “As you are aware, the government of Nigeria has committed that the assets will support and assist in expediting the construction of the three major infrastructure projects across Nigeria – namely “These projects currently being executed under the supervision of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority as a public-private partnership (PPP) will boost economic growth and help alleviate poverty by connecting people and supply chains from the East to the West and to the Northern part of Nigeria, a vast area covering several kilometers with millions of the country’s population set to benefit from the road infrastructures.“

The AGF also noted that this agreement has “culminated in a major victory, for Nigeria and other African countries as it recognizes that crime does not pay and that it is important for the international community to seek for ways to support sustainable development through the recovery and repatriation of stolen assets.”
He noted further that “without the commitment of the three parties to the Agreement (Nigeria, Jersey and the United States) and that of the legal experts and Attorneys representing Nigeria, it would have been impossible to achieve the success recorded today.”

Malami urged for greater cooperation and mutual respect amongst countries in the implementation of expeditious cooperation measures already set out in the United Nations Convention Against Corruption and in the implementation of the GFAR principles on the repatriation of stolen assets.

He called for the civil society organizations and the Nigerian public to be involved in the monitoring of the implementation of the key infrastructure projects that will greatly enhance road transportation in the country.

Directly or indirectly every single part of Igbo land and beyond has Omanbala/ Nri/Eri influence. That's is a debate you can't win. Awka is part and parcel of Omanbala culture don't separate us you devious divisionist. Isu of Anambra has been swallowed by Omanbala culture and today we are one.

Orlu and Olu are not the same thing! Nze na Ozo institution is an Omanbala/ Nri invention. Therefore, any town in this planet earth that practices Nze na Ozo should pay homage accordingly. Its a beautiful, classy and elegant culture and you must thank us for that.
