Good morning , Please how long does it now take to pick up your visa after it has been granted at the interview in lagos ? It used to be 2-3 working days to go pick it up at the designated pick up center you put in. Please how long now ? |

Track it on https://www.ustraveldocs.com/ng/ng-niv-passportretrieve.asp and it will tell you whether your passport is ready for pickup or not. I picked up mine last week. it took two working days 1 Like |

Hi fam, long time no see. So, I got my visa renewed this morning and here is the transcript: V.O: Good morning, passports pls DH and I passed the passport and greeted her V.O: when was the last time you went to the US and for how long? Me: June 2019, 12 days DH: Nov 2018, 3 weeks V.O: Have you both travelled together before? Both: No, this will be our first V.O: what do you do ma’am? Me: I’m a ****** and I work with ***** company DH: I work for ******* V.O: your position? D.H: ***** for Africa and middleeast V.O: How long are you staying for? D.H: 3-4 weeks Me: 2 weeks V.O: How many children do you have? Both: one V.O: I see you had your baby in the U.S, Do you intend to use this visa for medical? Both: No, at least not on this visit V.O: please pay the reciprocity fee and come back for passport submission No receipts or anything was asked. After carrying plenty past receipts, I’m grateful to God. However, I have a question, we are not yet pregnant but as it is, after having 3 miscarriages back to back, I already classify as high risk. So, in the nearest future, If we get a sticky bean, can this visa be used for childbirth? 7 Likes |

Dhollargurl: The VO already ask you this same question and you said "NO AT LEAST NOT THIS VISIT" so I guess you already have an answer to your question. He was aware of your friend baby so he asked if you had plans of getting another if issued. English language is complicated if you ask me Sha but this is just what I can say from all these oo 1 Like |

Dhollargurl: You know for a fact, that based on the new rules, if you had answered “yes” to the childbirth question you would have been promptly denied a visa. That should answer your “question”. |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Dhollargurl(f): 4:55pm On Feb 03, 2020 |
TWoods: I’m not pregnant, so I wouldn’t answer yes because how would I justify the yes. 2ndly, She didn’t ask for my receipts or anything which they did for the rest for some reason, maybe my position or my husband’s or they’ve seen the records of hotels we stayed at, so, she probably assumed we could afford it and above all, God’s grace. Hopefully, my PR would have come through by then so it is a futuristic question. Mr Twoods, before you come and start that your ITK on my thread, I am not pregnant yet and there’s no point stirring an intent when I don’t even know when it’s going to stick. For now, I’m just going to cool off in one of the best 4-star hotels in your country. 4 Likes |

Dhollargurl: You’re being deliberately dishonest, as usual. The question the VO put to you wasn’t whether you were pregnant at that moment, but whether you ever intend to use that visa to birth at any point within the two year validity. As someone else noted, you could have said “sure, if I get pregnant at some point I’d like to know if I can still use this visa”. You didn’t, because you know he would have denied your visa... so you deliberately lied by omission and now come here to get validation for your plan. And what’s with the vacuous boasting about spending money at a 4-star hotel? The average American can do that too. 11 Likes 2 Shares |

TWoods: She didn’t ask if I would use it for pregnancy, she said for medicals, but then you have a point, I wasn’t even thinking along that line because I am not pregnant at the moment and don’t know when I’ll be cos I am not even trying. All this is just an afterthought. I was with my husband and we just blurted the No, cos it’s only for 3 weeks. |

I think he mean no harm!!! Cos I remembered 2019 when my brother and family renewed their visa the VO asked if the will use it to give birth if she ever gets pregnant and the both said yes if the resources is available the would love to!!!! But in your case ,your answer means totally no my dear now and in future!!! I know you did not want to stretch the interview!!! But that’s the bitter truth!!! Thank GOD you have alternative so not to bother!!!! Just go and have fun dear!!! Nigeria is stressful Dhollargurl: |

Dhollargurl: They are not permitted to directly ask if you are pregnant. But considering she asked that question right after acknowledging that you had your prior child in the US, it’s easy to speculate she was indirectly asking if you wanted to use the visa to have your next baby. 4 Likes |

Good Day Everyone. We got our visa last year. Is it still advisable, considering the latest policy, to write to the embassy about our intent to give birth in the US? Thanks. |

Dhollargurl: You see @the bolded clause? Quite cunning though, and worthy of criticism on this thread! Na very bad one before oh, those days, I mean if that was really the VO's question and your response to same, and if it got documented word for word, you would have been able to draw on it in the future. But it won't fly now in this age and time with them, not even with the restrictions. Just wait sha, till you reach that bridge, the tide may have changed by then. Take advantage of your post journey and pre-pregnancy time to secure a Canadian visa sha, they may also have become this bad by the time you are due too. You see? All the best! 3 Likes |

Hello everyone, please I will like your suggestions. I submitted my application sometimes last month to have my interview this week. While filling my application I applied for the B2 visa (childbirth)... I tried getting a doctor in the US to write a letter on my behalf but couldn’t get one after the B1/B2 restriction for childbirth. Do you think I should go ahead with the interview? Also, is there anyone that has a similar story like mine and went ahead with the interview? |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Beautyaddy: 3:28pm On Feb 05, 2020 |
Ttosyn12: Hmmm...good luck on that. And why can't you have your baby in Nigeria? |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Vlesparza: 4:50pm On Feb 05, 2020 |
Ttosyn12: The letter must be from the doctor in Nigeria who is treating you and knows your medical condition, so he can recommend treatment in the US. It is unlawful for a doctor in the US to give any medical advice or suggestion without physically seeing the patient first. Once you receive a letter from your doctor (in your country), then you contact a doctor in the US that will "accept" you. 1 Like |
