There is something called the Peak period of a player. Most players peak at 23 and upwards. Moses is 24 going on 25 and seems to have finally matured. The problem is we do not seem to be patient with young players under 23 and think they are not good. Moses has fully developed his potential and he will go places. A lot of people on this forum think that once a player is not impressive at 21, he will not make any progress but that is necessarily not true. In fact, nwakaeme (in turkey) seems to be peaking between 28 to 35. That is why i am against young players (like Osimhen) under 24 going to big clubs. Big clubs don't allow players to develop and even confuse them by changing their position and/or expecting too much too soon. Most good nigerian players actually go through the normal developmental process. Players that mature early are rare (messi, ronaldo) and you cannot judge young players by these parameters. Again i am happy Moses Simon has finally matured to a great player TheSuperNerd: 8 Likes |

jihday: I think one of the problems with football is that there are too many stakeholders. Too many people are interested, from the federal government level to local governments. Nigeria basketball players are made up mainly of US born stars on merit. You can not do that with football without backlash. Aigbogun was given a limit to the number of foreign born talents, he can add to his team for instance. Even Imama was given a foreign based player limit. Most football coaches can not just invite the best players and select from the best. There are just so many things at play. It would be difficult to get the NFF up to the level of the NBBF. 4 Likes |

Im very happy reading about Moses Simon's exploits this season, very impressive stats...we rarely hype him here so this is an opportunity to hype person wey deserve hype abeg... We have so many good players that I fear for favourites who are not having a good season... 25 apps, 8 goals, 8 assist as a LW, hopefully he can do double figures for Goals and assist this season... I'm predicting 14 goals and 12 assist this season for him, or 15 self, we don't mind... Make ighalo self score upandan, iheanacho tear net, dessers do him own, onuachu, even if I no too gbadun am, make him self no stop scoring, onyekuru And ademola, make una comot for bench so we can hype una, hmmm, kalu matter wan dey tire me, no score no assist and na number 10, when omeruo don dey score, ok... I did not mention osihmen, no be say I forget, but "garri nor need hype" 5 Likes 1 Share |

Odion Ighalo has revealed how he had sleepness night in Shanghai China while trying to finalise his loan transfer to Manchester United from Shanghai Shenhua on the January tranfer deadline day. Ighalo sealed his loan move to United on deadline day – Friday January 31, after turning down offers from Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur. And speaking in his first interview published on the Manchester United’s official website on Wednesday, the 2019 AFCON golden boot winner said: “Yeah, it was very dramatic. My agent called me the day before and said Man United. I would love to go. A few other clubs had shown interest, I said please, just pick United, if it’s going to be possible. “At 11pm in Shanghai, my agent called me [to say] that United want to do the deal, so I woke up that night and started looking for a translator to go to the directors’ room and hit his door and all that. My agent wants to speak to you, United are coming for me, you have to make this happen and all that you know. “So they started talking and discussing. I didn’t sleep throughout that night, because it was going to end at 7am, Shanghai time, and the transfer [window] is going to close there. So, from 11pm, there was paperwork, negotiating and all that, for the loan deal and all that, so we are talking and other teams are calling them, wanting me, but I told my agent that this is what I want. I want to come here. He said you’re going to get a pay-cut to go to United. I said I don’t care. Make this deal happen. I want to go to United. I don’t care how much is the pay-cut, I know that, make it happen. “So the director and everybody didn’t know what to say anymore, because I had already made up my mind, so my agent started putting it in order, and, at 5am, we finished. My agent said he’d forwarded all the papers to United, they will confirm for me if everything is okay. I think, around 5am-6am, he said everything is okay, it’s done. I was excited. I called my mum and she was happy, crying and all that. This is your dream and all that and I’m happy for you. It was dramatic, I didn’t sleep through, I was very happy that finally we got the deal done.” 2 Likes |

BascoVanVeli: look at him, he still hasn't gotten over the fact that he's a United player, still smiling sheepishly. He's excited and i'm happy for him. Particularly impressed by the fact that he had to go and bang at the door of the Director with his translator at 11pm. That's a very huge one. He saw the opportunity coming, and ran as fast as he could towards the opportunity. Congrats Jude. SoarHigher 3 Likes |
