I thank God for Stanbic IBTC, they didn't give me stress at all

I appreciate this warning. @house, which Nigerian bank gives letters of reference and non-indebtedness easily. Thank you.

I haven't received any ITA mail but I'm sure I have gotten ITA because my CRS was 478.

Is there any post-ITA group I can join?

I think the bone of contention is whether she could claim points for it. She can. Full or part time, she can.

Yes true
But the question was whether he or she could claim full work experience while schooling.
You can only claim full experience if your lecture days was on a weekend.

We need to be careful with the information we fill on our forms

Received this letter on my profile.

The letter they are requesting for was during my service year. before submitting my profile back in June 2019, I asked my AI

I served as a secondary school teacher in Brass Island, Bayelsa state.

I have 7 days to respond unless my application will be rejected.

AOR: June 8,2019
VO: Montreal

P.S. I submitted my bank statement with the notarized reference letter written by me.
Who is AI? For me, the best thing is to get reference letter from the principal school, resubmit the statement of account highlighting allawee, adding discharge certificate might help

You might have been misinformed about signing reference letter yourself

Attending all lectures isn't a requirement for the award of degrees. During my Master's program, some of us had full-time employment and shared their time between classes and work. It all depends on the arrangement with the employer, in which case the time spent attending lectures is considered time-off which doesn't compromise the full-time status of the job.

I served in Twon Brass island, Bayelsa in 2010. And I left the country in 2016, the AI was the only person who i still had his number.

Right now I don’t even have anybody’s contact. In my initial application, I submitted my account statement highlighting the allawee and my discharge certificate.

Now I don’t know what else to submit, than resubmit the account statement and certificate, and hope for the best.

Since the issue is having written the reference letter yourself, what you can do is to seek the assistance of someone who served in the school with you. Let them sign the reference letter for you and attach other docs of theirs like posting letter and/or discharge certificate, shared picture (if possible), which will confirm that you were both at the school together. Then back it up with a LOE, explaining why your former colleague had to write the letter and not a teacher of the school. That should work. The case officer just need a third party to vouch for you. In fact, that's what a referral implies - one can't write his/her reference letter.

PS: @bolded- I suppose that doesn't include the supposed former colleague I referred to above.

I evaluated mine and it didn’t recognize it as a one year diploma. It just reads Canadian equivalency: completion of study and training in Montessori teaching methods. I couldn’t use it as another certificate.

so does that mean the course cannot add any points to my CRS score?
i thought it would take me one step higher from "Degree" to "two or more certificates one of which must be a 3yrs....." whc wld then automatically boosts CRS score.

Please avoid UBA like a plague on this express entry journey. They've been tossing me around for the past 2days from branch to branch over my request for letter of non-indebtedness. My patience wore off and I had to shout. Dont put your POF in UBA. Be warned!

Why do you need a letter of non indebtedness? Did you take a loan from them and have paid up?

IMO, a reference letter detailing your account activities and POF should suffice for this journey.

@all, please I'd be glad if anyone can provide suggestions on this bank issue. Thanks.

Which bank are you using currently? No bank should deny you statement of account because they generate revenue from the issuance.
For letter of non indebtedness, why do you need it. Is it a requirement for PR journey? I'm here wondering why a bank would issue you letter of non indebtedness if you didn't obtain any loan from them, neither is your salary domiciled with them.

It's IRCC's opinion that you must provide a letter (among others) which lists "outstanding debts such as credit card debts and loans". Now, either you took loans or not, the bank needs to make that clear. See here for more details.

PS: GTBank has been known not to give such a letter (as was my experience). That's still okay as its reference letter (with its wordings) sufficed.

Really?
A letter of non-indebtedness is a letter issued to a customer that has paid off all the debts previously owed to a bank. The letter tells whoever it may concern that the customer has done well to clear all the debts previously recorded that he/she was owing.

In my experience, it is not necessary except you took a loan or had a credit card you had paid up. We didn't provide such in our application. We only provided six months bank reference letters and TB certificates for all our investments.

You can request sha. The process is this,
The bank confirms if you're owing from credit bureau and also bank wide before the letter is issued. It needs to be approved and signed by key officers so timeline for different banks might differ. Some banks have to send to their head office, hence the delay

GTB would not give you a letter of non indebtedness if you didn't obtain a loan or have a salary account with them, because the letter basically says you are not owing them. Why would they issue the letter if you did not have a prior loan or credit card that has been paid up? The IRCC clause would apply to those having loans especially salary account holders and credit card users.

I also left Nigeria after youth service and i experienced difficulty in getting ref letter from the PPA.
This was what i did, i paid someone who travelled to the town (6hrs drive), he met a respected elder in the town who accompanied him to the school and spoke to the principal. they made video call with me asking how i wanted the letter and all.

Letter came out instantly.

Let your money do the job

I think they have delay because my own first degree transcript is in transit but delivery has been delayed by 2 days (from 4th to 6th).
My MSc was delivered to WES in 6 days.
