Good evening and happy new year to you all. After months of ruminating over this idea, I am glad to manage the time to create a tread like this. This tread is to further open Nigerians and foreigners alike who have the same passion of wealth creation via investing in the United States stock markets. As you may know, the market in the US is mirrored by the indices such as the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), The Standard & Purse (S&P) and the NASDAQ. The whole essence is to have a pool of both inexperienced but interested would-be investors, and experienced resource persons who are willing to give back to the society by making informed analysis and opinions on the developments in the world markets and how members of this forum can make informed investment decisions accordingly. I have tasted a bit of this market and can confirm that the world is a global village and that anyone can trade in the US market and make real US dollars from profits made. For instance, I took a good look at the newly listed company called Virgin Galactic with thicker symbol (SPCE) and bought some shares at $8.20 on the 9th of December 2019. After watching it for a while and doing some more due diligence, I bought much more on the 10th of December 2019 at $9.23 as it kept rising. As I type this piece to create this tread today the 4th of February 2020, it is trading at $19.56 per share! And am not a genius. Gentle men and ladies, we can make a lot of money if we pool our wealth of knowledge and turn it into tangible financial cash cow. This is not a get rich quick scheme, never a ponzi scheme, neither is this intended for any sort of internet fraud. Wealth requires hard work (mental and intellectual) mixed with a good dose of patience. I believe we are very many out there looking for legitimate source of building wealth. This is just one more avenue we can utilize to team up together to accelerate our financial freedom. Knowledge they say is power, but until acquired knowledge is applied, there can never be power. Therefore I humbly declare this forum open to all chartists, fundamentalists, and freshers alike. Lets keep it simple, no fighting or bullying , be of matured conduct, engage intelligently, add some humour, have lots of fun and of course make money together in the process. Wow...the Dow has already jumped 500 points today , rebounding from the slide caused by the coronavirus in China! Let me see how this reflects on my portfolio. So 4 days ago on 30th January I bought into this Chinese electric car manufacturer NIO at $4.03/share. I thought it would tank further when it went down to $3.80ish yesterday due to the coronavirus scare in China. It has powered to $4.54 right this moment at an 11.7% gain today. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

gamaliel9: Wow! You bought Tesla?...awesome. Am so happy for you bro. I hesitated a bit thinking the coronavirus scare will depress it like all other US stocks. How wrong I was. Tesla closed today at $963.22, that is a whopping 23.49% ($183.22/share) gain from yesterday's closing price! So excited for you. 9 Likes 1 Share |

OakPearl: How safe are these apps? Are there any form of insurance, like we have NDIC protecting customers funds in Nigeria. Also, will one be paying US tax, trading from Nigeria? 15 Likes |
Re: Us Stocks Pick Alert by OakPearl(m): 10:15pm On Feb 04, 2020 |
ThundrCork: Good question. They are actually company apps verifiable by a visit to their offices in Lagos or via phone. I have spoken to them on phone and via whatsapp and gotten clarifications from them on certain matters. Since US based brokers cant do a proper due diligence on you due to geographical location, these companies do due diligence via certain KYC documents just as is required when opening a bank account with a compulsory demand for your BVN to afford us the opportunity to open trading accounts. The safety is in the fact they are fully registered with US licenced brokers and so save investors in the diaspora the hassles of requiring US residency to be able to invest. 22 Likes 1 Share |

The important thing is to know the custodian of your fund. and investment, just in case any of the apps promoter is bankrupt. Ideally the custodian should ringfence your securities and protect it from the promoter business account. The account should not be used as a collateral to borrow funds nor should it be made accessible for debtors. Before patronising the promoter of TROVE, BAMBOO and chaka, do ask them to give you an evidence of investment protection. Certification by SEC nig and US CAC... Nig Custodian certf. If they cannot offer you dz, then there is a fire on the mountain... Run for cover 30 Likes 5 Shares |

sassysure: Hi, you can trade US stocks and ETFs successfully. The first step, download Yahoo finance app The app will guide you to different market makers in the US The market makers will often tell you what to buy. Yahoo finance app alone can help you in a great way. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yahoo.mobile.client.android.finance 20 Likes 6 Shares |

ThundrCork: I think the tax is deducted from your dividend. Also since one does not use USA government infrastructure and facility... USA non-resident cannot pay tax...i stand to be corrected |
Re: Us Stocks Pick Alert by ScepterWorld: 11:17am On Feb 05, 2020 |
gamaliel9: I am about to earn my first dividend; so I can't confirm tax deductions. My conversation with Trove officials about how to receive dividend payment was encouraging. They dividend is paid to your trading account directly once it is declared. 2 Likes |

Nice tread. I shall give updates as time permits. The US market opens from around 3:30pm-9pm Nigerian time, Monday to Friday, except on week ends and US public holidays. Early signs from pre-market activities indicate the market is set to continue the rally that began on Monday. 17 Likes 1 Share |

ScepterWorld: When i was researching on US stocks,i was so happy seeing monthly and quarterly dividend stocks....i went to check further and found that if you do a proper due diligence...you can be earning weekly dividends based on company stocks you bought and particular week that they pay dividend in a particular month. That is, there are stocks that pay first week in their quarterly dividends, some second week, others third week and so on...in January,May,August and December etc...you have to find particular month and week each stock pays...from there you buy in such a way that each week..there is a stock that will drop something in your account......12 stocks that pay quarterly can get you this. 28 Likes 1 Share |

StellarThesis: I registered with Chaka with full name as in my bank account...know your customer kyc...including your bvn... When you deposit in naira, cash or online...it will hit your account in naira. Then if you want to buy US or other countries stock, they have an exchange option on the site. Just click on it and wait for some minutes...it will become dollar .....then you can buy stocks with it. When you want to withdraw, you hit the exchange option again...your dollar goes to naira...then you withdraw to your bank...savvy? 41 Likes 2 Shares |

Op, what document is required to do KYC with any of the broker |
Re: Us Stocks Pick Alert by ScepterWorld: 5:53am On Feb 06, 2020 |
Asuito7: KYC documents include scanned copies of: 1. Passport photograph 2. Valid means of ID (Int'l Passport or drivers license or national ID) 3. Utility bill as proof of address 4. BVN no. Just the basic docs required by banks during account opening, to avoid multiple or fictitious account duplication. 18 Likes 1 Share |
