Despite Thriving Businesses, Aba Remains A Pigsty - Premium Times by Noerection: 11:40am On Feb 06, 2020 |
At the entrance of Ngwa Road Market in the heart of Aba in Abia State, an unperturbed Chika Mba sat gently in the midst of broken bottles, used plastic, dirty nylons, and rags. As the stench of waste and rubbish engulfed the atmosphere, Chika, a 34-year-old trader, moved around to call on passers-by for patronage. Beside him stood other traders and customers, all haggling prices among themselves. If they found the offensive smell oozing out of their surrounding unpalatable, they did not show it in their countenances. As seconds turned into minutes and hours, rather slowly, Chika and other customers and traders alike laughed, ate, drank and haggled prices of different clothing materials amidst the offensive odour. He would soon dance around the dirt with reckless abandon, to the delight of passers-by and fellow traders. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/features-and-interviews/375805-despite-thriving-businesses-aba-remains-a-pigsty.html?fbclid=IwAR2dZhoDicxl0KwlwTivQS29zcbl4egYseCSIb1SUxiomqYlthrswPo11Pw 14 Likes 2 Shares

What an eyesore! We posted one of these pictures yesterday on a related thread and a child of hate quoted us saying his elders should shut up, that he lives in Aba and it is a photoshop! Pigsty living in self denial! And you will still find people eating and drinking in such dirty environment (dirty is an understatement here!) This alone can cause an epidemic and several deaths. May God save us in this nation as a whole! We will get there someday! 120 Likes 12 Shares |

We have the worse governor in Africa. He will join Orji Uzor in kirikiri sooner or later. TK Orji is in the senate sleeping always without any contribution, if Nigeria does not punish him, Devil himself will do that for us. Stupid illiterates with fake degrees. 22 Likes 1 Share |

Nairaland mods with their agenda. This made it to front page 6 times last year. Each time the thread made the it, it was always barely any comment on it. It’s not even rainy season yet. The real State of Aba road as of February 2020. 16 Likes 3 Shares

Aba and Onitsha used to be in the same category of dirtiness because of commercial activities in both cities. But the way Onitsha became cleaner over the years is why I said Abia is cursed with bad leaders. Mbadinuju still remain the worst Governor in the South East Hall Of Shame. My advice to my Aba brothers is Stop voting PDP or APC because your little resources is being attacked by politicians from the whole federation. In Anambra, Apga is condemned to perform or they will their only state. Its not mathematics, its logic Local wisdom if you doubt ask mimiko. 27 Likes 2 Shares |

Very bad I'm sure these traders has association, can't they meet local & state government to assist them put things in shape? Even if the road is bad they could at least stop the habit of dumping refuse in open space It's not difficult for market traders to contimribute money, buy waste bin and pay private waste management company a certain amount of money on weekly basis for proper disposal of their waste 7 Likes 1 Share |
