Before the coming of Keke what means was plying the route?

I am sure that those mini buses can ply the routes of KeKe

Then those mini buses a.k.a korope should have been ready before the outright ban.

Meanwhile,

"U mentioned "development". Pls what is "development", what does it entail and how is d ban on okada/keke without d provision of alternatives "development"?

U also said "we sometimes don’t think like developed people yet we shout we want development". Pls how is d Lagos state govt thinking like d govts of "developed people"?
lemme ask u a question Mr Writer, Lagos of today, was it the same as years back? The answer is NO. And without doing it this way things will never change and u will not even live in Lagos till this date. No wonder maybe you're also a Okada rider or Keke napep driver. Well

i can't speak for the governor but I believe they are working on making reliable means of transportation available
The ban was just necessary due to the fact that the security of the state was being threatened.

U can't speak for d governor but u can speak for governors of d following cities:

London
New York
Paris
Tokyo
Moscow
Dubai
Singapore etc?

I didn't ask what u believe. I asked u about what is available and tangible. What is on ground? Pls read d questions again and revert:

"Apart from abuja, has govt of Lagos provided d type of transportation system d govts of d cities u mentioned provided for their people? Whose responsibility is it to provide a robust, efficient, adequate & convenient transportation system? Has d govt of Lagos provided any such in Lagos? What is ur basis of comparing Lagos to d cities u mentioned?"

All these questions don't require u to speak 4d governor. Its u speaking for yourself. It is a test about how much u no about d situation. I believe u no a lot.

Pls how was d security of d state being threatened by okada?

You can challenge the law in court sir

I am yet to see ur response to this enquiry regarding ur article.

According to u:

"there exist a consensus in Lagos that Okada and Keke operators have been constituting themselves into menace in the city? Even when everyone agree that they are very uncoordinated and contribute greatly to the insane traffic situation in the state? Even when everyone know that they pose security risk to the lives and properties of Lagos state residents?"

Pls, how did u arrive at d "consensus"? Did u take a survey? What research did u do to arrive at ur conclusion that "there exist a consensus in Lagos that Okada and Keke operators have been constituting themselves into menace in the city"?

Also what and what have they done that qualifies as "constituting themselves into a menace in the city"?

Again u said "Even when everyone agree that they are very uncoordinated and contribute greatly to the insane traffic situation in the state?"

Pls who is d "everyone"? When did u speak to "everyone" on d subject matter? How do keke and okada "contribute greatly to the insane traffic situation in the state"? Since their ban, has d "insane traffic" in Lagos vanished?

According to u, "Even when everyone know that they pose security risk to the lives and properties of Lagos state residents?"

Once again, u said "everyone". When did u discuss with "everyone" in Lagos to have arrived at ur conclusion? How do keke and okada "pose security risk to the lives and properties of Lagos state residents?"

This ban is long overdue

Do you have okada in big cities like
London
New York
Paris
Tokyo
Moscow
Dubai
Singapore etc?
Even Abuja
Yet people get around and not everyone has a car
So what's the fuss?

There are no justifications to compare Lagos with those places u mentioned

Amazing road network void of pot holes, hills and valley
Efficient transport management system
Functioning train connectivity
Compouterised vehicular recorgnition systems

Which of these exist in Lagos

Even ur Abuja does not have and by d way there are bikes in Abuja

okada is the reason for traffic jam on your route? What kind of road do you guys have that something as tiny as okada causes traffic jam?

Not everyone is water friendly, but once again, you have displayed the common behavior in most humans, particularly prevalent in the black race of, as long as it doesn't hinder me, everyone else can f*ck off.

Okada ban is not even the major concern, it is the keke ban that is the actual problem. You don't ban okada and make at the same time, without putting in alternatives.

But, you people do not have any cognitive reasoning, so, what can we expect from impoverished people of a third world nation, with impoverished mentality. You can't give what you don't have.

Same applies to TonyeBarcanista that started this foolish thread and restricted everything to okada ban. He has never been very smart, hence, his affinity to jump from APC to PDP and be tossed around like a ragdoll

Seconded. grin

Tonyebarcanista and his funny writeups. I personally support the ban on okada but please be informed that the Lagos law banning okada, banned motorcycles with engine capacities less than 200cc hence the reason why the bike hailing companies (opay, max and gokada) came into business in Lagos with the kind of bikes they came with (above that engine capacity). You can't fault them either of not having good records of their riders nor not paying tax to the government so please tell me, how did this new 'enforcement' affect them?

In Abuja people take taxis, uber no okada, keke or what ever nonsense you guys are asking for in Lagos and if you don't know how security is threatened by the high population of undocumented immigrants who use okada, keke as cover

As much as you feel pain due to the implementation of this Okada restriction (which is a law anyway), you have to see the bigger picture; it is for the benefit of the state.

We need leaders that will do what is right for the state irrespective of whether the right thing will bring us temporal inconveniences

BTW the idea of Okada ban was mooted in 2007, temporarily implemented in 2011, and became a law in 2012... Between August 2012 and January 2020 is 9 years+.
Before you write an article about a topic, make sure you are informed about that topic.

There's no law that bans Okada in Lagos State, what the law states is bikes with engine capacity less than 200cc.

The law is the reason why bikes from GoKada, Max and other bike hailing services are above 200cc
