Was the war between US and the nation Afghanistan. US fought Taliban, a group that housed AlQaeda and binladen in Afghanistan. US fought them to bring in a stable government...mind you no one won any war, Taliban still controls half of Afghanistan'...that's why US is now negotiating with them.
it was mission accomplished in Afghanistan. they opened their country to terrorist and the US dealt with them.

the US is negotiating to pull out

it is not for peace. they are negotiating for a pull out in exchange for the Taliban's not allowing the part of Afghanistan under their control to be used as a base to attack US interest. Trump is negotiating to pull out just as he did in Syria recently

it is mission accomplished! Muslim countries will continue to feel the pain if they allowed themselves to be used as terrorist breeding ground.

US officials once described AQAP as "the most active operational franchise" of al-Qaeda beyond Pakistan and Afghanistan.

How did Taliban gain power in Afghanistan. Sometimes our history is our problem. In the 1980s Russia invaded Afghanistan. The Taliban was created by young youths alongside AlQaeda to fight the Invasion. US directly gave them weapons and support to fight the Russians. In the late 80s during Reagan, the Russians were defeated but a new problem arose. Those group the US supported both directly and indirectly became a problem. Bin laden who was the leader of AlQaeda started having somuch hate for US together with Taliban that wanted to implement harsh sharia laws in Afghanistan. In summary US had a big hand in making AlQaeda and Taliban what they are today. Same way as ISIS, the story goes almost similar way. When people say that US directly and indirectly create these group you might think it is a joke. But if you research you will find out that the US over the years have created groups that ended up becoming militant and fighting them. In the middle east US was arming militias to fight Sadam during the Iraq war. These militias later became what ISIS is today.

Whatever way you see it, US is still negotiating for a peaceful solution in Afghanistan. It is now known to them that the Taliban have to be part of the peaceful solution since they can't do away with them....and US over the years continuously keeps shooting themselves on the foot

the funding they received from US was only a fraction of what they needed. Osama who is very rich was the major source of funding. the other funds came from Muslims faithful around the world

Since Clinton left, The DEMOCRATS have been BUNGLING.

Clinton visited NIGERIA and had good Relationship with Obasanjo. Obama, an African, undiplomatically sent Kerry to Sokoto instead of Abuja.

Which of the Clinton?
