pope191: no reasonable questions have been thrown at me except how do you know uber drivers? i find the question hilarious because it makes no sense everyday, uber drivers cars are been impounded by different agencies in lagos state, so how did the respective agencies get these drivers and their cars? Mr, nobody cares if Uber drivers have complete particulars or not, the main issue is uber deceit not to have a license to operate in the state. Uber has no intention of doing the right thing, even though they knoww the law, they keep selling stories instead of doing the right thing. as i have written, we can argue from now till next year, the law is the law, before you can operate a taxis service, you must have permit and license to operate, even in NYC city, Uber has a license to operate and uber drivers get special license from the TLC (Taxi and Limousine Commission) to drive with Uber. as someone wrote that i am part of the banana republic, why is uber obeying the law in NYc but cant obey the law in lagos state Lasly, when you get your hackney permit be ready to change your plate to red. |

PLANS FOR TOMORROW'S MASSIVE LOGOUT...... It is true that there are so many of our colleagues that don't belong to any groups... Right in the comfort of your home, use the rider app to request as many drivers as possible. Don't insult them. They might not have heard anything sincerely. Try explaining to them what is on ground and prove the reason to them , why they are needed to join the cause. Until VIO spokesperson puts out a statement confirming their retreat on this callous and biased manhunt, we will not relent either. May God keep us beyond tomorrow..... 6 Likes 1 Share |

sexylassie: Young lady again, am sorry to say that you are a reflection of the Banana Republic of Lagos...I don't mean it as an insult.. Try to objective with me .. To start with it is not fully effective they way Lagos State is going about it . Using Vio to clamp down on Uber drivers will not bring in the revenue that Lagos government wants to extort.. Most of the fines that Vio are collecting will end up in their own pockets.. These VIO's are hungry and will just collect bribe from drivers instead of giving it to the state. That been said, uber didnt just enter naija open shop and started their operations . They had to make some sort of agreement before starting their operation.. So the same government that gave them the green light to operate, should be able to revoke them directly without sorting to blackmail via harassing drivers up and down . Dont u think that Lagos government should just give court order and close down uber office until the issue is resolve? And why now , things should have been put in place before uber started operating their business in Lagos.... This is the reason why I think this whole issue is a hoax to begin with. And if it is not a hoax ,than we have a bunch of monkeys controlling the zoo called Lagos State.. My Point is again .. If their is an issue at all, Lagos government should close down uber company . Instead of running wild using VIO to enforce their meaningless law.... 4 Likes 1 Share |

dru23: i am not a reflection of any banana republic. you and uber are the reflection of crony capitalism. Lagos do not want to exhort any money from Uber, Lagos want uber to get a license to operate their business and also want drivers to get permit too, it is world wide practise. in NYC city, Uber has a license to operate and uber drivers get special license from the TLC (Taxi and Limousine Commission) to drive with Uber. So what is stopping Uber from getting the necessary permit, if the company came with good intentions to pay the right tax for taxi operators, they would have gotten a license. Uber didnt have any agreement with any govt official, they came as a business who want to scale and make money in Lagos state just like gokada and the rest platform, they also came because they know the market is unregulated, they know it will give them the license to do as they like, in the developed world where uber is, can they behave like they seem fit without consequences, NO. because they know the market is regulated. Another stuff is this, when a new business goes to an unregulated market to make money, they do as they like, as other players comes into the market, the government will start regulating the market, it happens all over the world, facebook came to an unregulated market but now you can see that the market is now being regulated, it is normal. 3 Likes |

Its either you don't know what you r saying or the vio officers you recruited do not know dia duties. You have failed to answer why ask hackney permit from a blue plate number, but keep saying b ready to change to red, please will heaven fall if a plate number is change to red or the car will consume more fuel? dru23: you are the misinformed one who said uber drivers in the US need hackney permit, different states in the US have different laws that uber follows, in california for instance, there is the AB 5 that requires uber and others to treat drivers as employees Now back to your misinformation and ignorance, in New york city, uber drivers get special license from the TLC (New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission) to drive with Uber. pls check this info before you start spreading false news https://www.uber.com/us/en/drive/new-york/get-a-license/ 2 Likes |

pope191: Sick and tired of how men talk to women on this thread whether they are right or wrong. You would NEVER talk to each other in such derogatory terms. The fact that no one has said anything about it is appalling. And it's not just here, it's everywhere on this forum. Y'all can have this thread and maybe even this forum. Even when talking to each other y'all are quick to say things like "it must have been a woman". Frankly I'm tired of it. I couldn't give a hoot about sexy whatever he/she calls herself. It's the TYPE of insults that get to me. Y'all don't call each other gigolos, prostitutes or sons of bitches. The minute there is an argument with a "female", insults turn sexual, or they are in their period or they are simply naggy/irrational. 3 Likes |

sexylassie: Well in my own state you don't need any form of permit to be an uber driver.. So each state might be different and am sure only a handful of state requires any form of permit to be an uber driver.. Back to the naija issue .. If Lagos has an issue with uber, they should take it with uber directly and not use gorilla style tactics. Since you are comparing New York form of operations to Lagos , meaning that in New York you need special permit.. Now if uber does not comply to the New York State laws, does that mean that New York road safety board will starting asking police officers to clamp down on drivers and ask if they do uber or have permit to operate uber ....ask yourself that.... Is that possible.. Imaging New York finest chasing down uber drivers and asking for their permit on 5th avenue... lol... Still Lagos is operating like a Banana Republic ,if any issues at all with uber, they need to take it up with uber directly via court or proper channels.. Anything short of that is a extortion and shake down 5 Likes 1 Share |

sexylassie: Are you saying Dru, who lives in Boston, USA is misinforming us Well, I suggest your government should write Uber/Taxify, asking them to comply with your laws regards transportation in Lagos state. If that has been done without a positive response from the e-hailing coys, you proceed to seal off their business and shut them down until they comply. Sneaking around, and extorting un-informed Uber partners is criminal. Remind me again why the VIS was restricted from the roads during Ambode’s tenure. 4 Likes |
