Mercy2006: I did not say every one. You can infer from what I wrote based on your level of intelligence. When one makes a general statement it does not mean it applies to everyone. When one says Nigerians are corrupt it does not mean EVERY Nigerian is corrupt, it just means there is a predominant trait or preponderance for corruption in Nigerians...it does not mean every Nigerian is corrupt!! I really dont think I need to explain this concept to an educated person. All women are capable of deceit, like money etc etc but Ive noticed Yoruba women are wicked and callous even when they exhibit empathy or kindness its often because it's in their interest...i.e deceit. Thats a general statement and yes even members of my family exhibit this trait. BTW I am married to a yoruba woman. As for defending yorubas, Im not going to defend you simply because you are a yoruba. Ibo women also have other negative traits. I dont know how i can know somebody is a thief and then say he is not because he is my tribesman. bad behaviour is bad behaviour, if you dont like to be called negative names, then desist from negative behaviour! the point I was trying to make anyway to the guy i responded to, is that saints and devils exists in all tribes. Yoruba women in general do not or no longer have a conscience...I think thats the best way i can put my observations and I take no pride in saying so but it's what I have observed!! 1 Like 1 Share |

isthatso: I won't argue with this because scheming especially is something Nigerians are known for. I'm not sure it's only found among Yoruba women however. Levels of wickedness could vary depending on exposure, or place. Wickedness tends to be an African trait, so the concept of human rights would be expected to be more prevalent among those who are exposed, compared to those who are not. You are more likely to find a "good wife" amongst the ibo women than the yoruba. That's possible. If you're looking for a good wife, perhaps check outside of Yoruba then let us know for sure. |

isthatso:Well, different strokes for different folks. It's funny what you said about a Yoruba woman neglecting her sick child because all my life,I have only known selfless Yoruba women Women who would rather die than see their kids go without, my own mother,an example and by the grace of God,I'm emulating her now in my own marriage. I didn't mean that you should defend the yoruba ladies just because they are yorubas, but it won't hurt at least to let some tribalists on this forum know they can't generalize when it comes to Yoruba women. Whatever bad thing they are saying about the Yoruba women abound also among their women, trust me I know. I want to believe your wife is not dirty, though i don't know you or your wife But why not put the record straight Unless it's true for you. Ok, let's not drag the matter,I only quoted you because to me,you came out in defense of the igbo women, but you never did for your own women, not even once(at least not that I know of) and the way you painted them rubbed me the wrong way. |

Mercy2006: I am only relaying a doctors experience practicing when we shared our experiences of yoruba women. You must understand that what people say and what they do are 2 different things. I am sure the women who told the doctor they dont have money for their child's medicine did not tell their friends they did not have money for the childs medicine because they know they will be chastised! . If you really want to know someone, watch what they do, their life patterns, not what they say or said they did. I am not saying Ibo women dont have their own issues, the man who posted complained about his Ibo women, that simply tells you they have their own issues. I simply told him the grass is not greener. As for my wife, Shes not perfect but neither am I, she will always be a woman but she has that rare quality that seems to be lacking more and more in yoruba women these days...sincerity, truthfulness and a conscience. That in a marraige means more than anything else. 1 Like |

Women I watched while growing up and are still like role models to me.so I know what I was talking about. Sorry if you don't have women like that around you. Well, this has been enlightening for me Bye and God bless. 1 Like |

Ask most of those Yoruba guys that go after South East and South South girls they will tell you the same thing even Davido agrees . My own personal issues are with Yoruba women, when black people start their gender wars its most likely due to insecurity. 1 Like |

Farki: I don't have davido as a role model, he's a public figure and most of what he does is probably for reasons unreleased to his fans. Not saying people should not look up to him and admire him, I'm not in the age demographics, I believe he's for younger folks although any older folk is free to be his fan. Yoruba guys dating and marrying non Yoruba women is not really news to me, it's not unusual since the men can marry from wherever they like. The Nigerian trait is to boast about "conquering" women from other places, which for some weird reason is seen as taking over or getting a foothold there. And, technically, you are not Yoruba since your dad isn't? Is your dad partly Yoruba as in one definitely Yoruba parent or he has some Yoruba ancestry. |

Mercy2006: There are outliers to every generalisation, This is not about me or you, this is about the larger population, it does not nullify the generalisation. You can take pot shots at me but the fact that you dont like what you are hearing does not mean it is not true. Deflecting the issue is the reason why problems persist in our society. To solve a problem one must must acknowledge the existence of the problem. i am a yoruba man, I take no delight is saying what i said, but it is my observation especially as i have gotten older and more conscious and observant. Go to a market, price something with a yoruba woman and then decide you are not buying, she is likely to abuse you in your presence or after you have left, it will never happen with an Ibo market woman. abuses and curse are meaningless but sometime you gain an insight intio the soul of a person in subtle ways. I have come to realise, the heart of the yoruba woman is quite dark, maybe it is the influence of Africa magic, maybe it is poverty and it will not change until they first accept there is a problem. The typical Africa magic watching yoruba woman, I run away from Trying to make this personal, talking about me or you is neither here nor there is not acknowledging a problem. Ofcourse you do not have to accept my view. BTW the Doctor's experience I related was about market women in Ibadan. Secondly my wife was the one who vowed never to employ a yoruba in our household again and she is yoruba. 2 Likes |
