Wretch32: Hmmmmmm, the same Twoods that quoted my old moniker that year and labelled me a failure bacause I had a low Gp from Nigeria?, telling me I'm unserious for graduating with 2.8 while my mates are getting 4.5 and above without knowing my situation and what I passed through in school?, the same twood that openly criticise everyone not applying to havard and MIT as less privileged?, Abi the same twood (anti-migrant) of that time that will openly tell people including me that they will not get visa as if he is the consular General?, I wish he is still active here so that I can show him my 4.0/4.0 cgpa ( all A's) in last semester. Back to the topic. Life doesn't have a perfect manual, every theories and models been used today were some people's trial and error in the past which eventually worked for them before it became a model. Sometimes, you let people figure out circumstances by themselves. If it works, they win. It it doesn't, they learn from it 41 Likes 1 Share |

Brigosa: Many have and rules guiding admission varies from school to school. Take time out and write to the various schools you are interested in. That way, you would be more informed in the entire process of your application. |

iwriterng: You way over estimate the Nigerian contribution to America. America was a world super power since the 1940s, we were still a British colony at the time. Do the math... only a tiny fraction of F1 students get their education fully paid for, the rest pay hundreds of thousands of dollars into the US economy. Just because America chose not to keep you doesn’t mean it turned everyone else away... many stay on EB1A B or EB2 NIW visas. It needs only 1 or 2 Elon Musk’s... We are the economic beneficiaries of the US immigration system, not the other way around. We are not here to “grow” the US and Canadian economies. Their economies were already great, that’s why we came here, not Sudan. Let’s call a spade a spade. If we are that great at growing economies, perhaps we should start with our own. 5 Likes |

NwanyiOkpa: Why the statement -real man? So the other is not? You have to be humble to learn, thereby sifting the grain from the chaff. The US is great, and so are other countries. If you don't plan very well, evaluate your present and future expenses, you will bemoan in this country. If you don't have a full ride, and you are unsure of how your expenses can be met, I will advice you to go to another country. There are top schools in France, and others whose tuition fee per year is less or equal to 300 euros. These are English taught programs. You can always return to the US if you wish to, especially if you've acquired a Phd from these institutions. There are various visa types like the L, J, G and others that can give you this convenience. You have to open your eyes to see. In the prophetic, the US will not be the center of attraction very soon given the abuse of power from political heads in the country. |

TWoods: Nigerians are equally; if not overly qualified for EB1, Eb2 NIW, check the stats of Nigerians earning Ph.D. (even if it's to maintain status, they still get the degree regardless) And you don't get to find 1 or 2 Elon Musk by "shopping" for 1 or 2 1 Elon Musk. You open doors for people you consider prospects, and then you might be lucky to have 1 Elon from a thousand "wannabe Elon". And when you say they need just one Elon musk, you made it sound like Elon musk discovered Physics or Fluid Mechanics and he conducts all of the research in that field. His business relies on hundreds of thousands of Ph.D. hours, slaving away in labs, people who will forever remain nameless, to you and several other people. But then Elon and the American Government know this as well, so no point arguing on the massive contribution of immigrants to American economy. Africa is equally important in the discussion because we have the most incentive for migrating. China and India? They're growing, and most people will not consider leaving from those countries in 20-30 years from now. You're wrong when you say we're not here to "grow" their economy, you almost contradicted yourself, if you know there are several people paying millions to get the American education, then it's safe to say they contribute significantly to the economy of the country? right? Also, take note that most of us are cheap labor to the American economy, we work 20hours, in remission of our tuition and a small stipend, without benefit and all the risk that comes from hiring a full-time employee; free up resources to do something else; again, we help grow this economy. Yes, WE should grow our economy. 27 Likes |

TWoods:The point is, people here should not let someone who felt they are the best in the world, who felt they are the most qualified, who felt they are better than the consular at the embassy, who felt they are the most honest Nigerian while the rest are fraud, who felt you are a failure if you don't good GPA, who felt you must be admitted to top schools, who felt they have the best model for f1 visa, who felt they can decide who gets visa or not at the embassy to decide Thier lives and future for them. If I'm to live by your harsh judgement and model on me in 2018, I won't even apply to schools let alone nearing the embassy and getting visa and studying in a TIER 2, GOOD RANKED university in the USA. You were literally good at writing people off, demoralised people and make people think it's either they are like you are they Bleep off. Now that I have your attention, I will send you a dm, reply it and I will forward shots of my last cgpa to you. The same person you tagged a failure two years ago cos I made 2.8/5.0 is here making all A's in arkansas. Personal statement to every applicant here. Don't ever!!!, I repeat, don't ever let anyone write you off or tag you a failure because of your circumstances. There is room for everyone to study in the USA even with your third class, yes you heard me right. There are schools in USA offering conditional admission to 2.0/4.0 GPA if your have good profile in other admission parameters aside the cgpa. one day, I will post an exclusive writeups on how to achieve and get good school admission with your circumstances 38 Likes 3 Shares |

Muleriders: Waoh, you need to see the way I dropped my phone and I'm clapping for you here. The bolded really touched me. Like the popular saying, " you aren't a failure because people tagged you as one, you are failure when you accept their tag and see yourself as one". I truly remember the 2018 period. I think the part 12 of this thread to be precise, the dude was busy lording over the thread, deciding who qualifies for the visa and who weren't. I'm glad you built something from the stones thrown at you. I celebrate you bro. 16 Likes |

lasthero: I have some time sitting at an airport to respond to a few of you so why not... Hmm lording over the thread? Precisely what does that mean? You mean making an opinion you had all the freedom in the world to ignore? Here’s the problem... you’re simply a bunch of superstitious zealots. A post on a forum is not a stone thrown at you... they are merely empty words, get over yourself. 1 Like |

Oddy16: If a faceless forum member who you’ve never met and who has zero access to you, is able to “kill your dreams” (whatever that means), then you are the problem. Yeah sure... you should get a hold of a bible and read it first before claiming “testimonies”... you all make Nigerian “Christians” look like the hypocrites they are. 3 Likes |

All being said, I think the likes of TWoods & co are part of those painting the country bad. Yes, he contributed to the present predicament that we are facing now. I'm very sure he told the VO that he would be returning to Nigeria after his studies but instead to stay true to his promise, he decided to follow the fastest lane...funny enough he's still same person agitating for a ban to prevent others from getting in... Talk of kettle calling pot black? That's a hypocrisy of the highest order 18 Likes |

TWoods: I just did that, I looked at my self in the mirror and I'm proud of myself oga Ade. Take just 5mins of your time to look through my old posts on this thread. I never wrote off anyone like you did, I never labelled anyone a failure like you did, I never told anyone they were visa fraud like you did, I never told anyone they won't make it like you did, I never told anyone they won't get visa like you did. I was never bittered about anyone like you did. instead, I have helped a lot of people with low undergraduate cgpa like me to believed in themselves that they can always get a better second chance if they are dedicated to make it happen. instead, I have coached, guided and had series of motivation and mocks with folks here to help them achieve Thier American dreams. I'm much different from you. P.s, this is the last mention you will get from me. peace out 19 Likes |
