However, in the latest twist to the matter as discovered by SaharaReporters, out of the military personnel arrest over the incident, all those from the Northern part of the country have been released by the authorities, leaving only one ACM Chike Mba, an Easterner, in detention.

The South are now scape goat. The Hausa/Fulani has now turn the southerners to scape goat or let me say discrimination.

First question to ask in this news report is that why would the northerners be released after conducting the investigation and the Easterner is not release in which they were all arrested for together?

SaharaReporters should have let us know or investigated the reason behind leaving out only ACM Chike Mba. The insinuation that he was left out because he was a Southerner is nothing short of conflagratory. If this were the real scenario then Nigeria is in deeper shit than we know it. Sooner than later, there may be serious issues.

What else do u want Saharareporter to tell

It said, commander Abdullah asked the soldiers to closed all investigation and everybody involved in detention was set free except one ACM Mba....

Next news u will hear is that ACM Mba Chika is the one behind the weaponised droned caught at the airport...

Same way Samuel Nath was roped as a bomber with normal lightening decoration design...

weaponised drone as how, is the drone carrying hell fire missiles? what kind of weapons?

It happen to be similar to what USA use to kill the head of Military in Iran, so without sending the soldier, from Lagos the military can attack sambisa forest bandit or militant

It work like the same drone use in shooting films but this one has capability of attaching bomb or any other military weapon on to it

There are combat drones and intelligence gathering drones.

Combat drones are used to carry bombs and deploy bombs to targets. That’s why they’re called weaponized drones.

Intelligence gathering drones only carry high capacity cameras and other sophisticated equipments to survey areas for intelligence gathering.

So, you don't believe that an easterner has probably been sacrificed to cover up for Fulani boys?

If this is true we are in serious trouble. Is there no prior briefing from the NSA office to the officers on duty. Custom/Immigration/DMI. Are the officers compromised to the extent that secret weapon is being brought in without any form of intel. What exactly is going on.??

i saw what this people are calling weaponised drone...i laiuhh///go watch eyes in the skies...drones that deliver misiles are larger in size than a small chopper..cost over 35 million dollars..am sleepy already would have shown you what millitary drones look like,,,not something you put in cargo..

is this what you fools put in a cargo box...i dont blame you..when dino melaye flaunts your billions and you keep mute and still burn a kid that stole generator...

when you the whoe army buy a third generation firefighting helicopter and it is on state news..commision pencil factory..they have robbed people of their sanity....commisoning a 100 mter road and they say governor is working.

the last picture of drone are smaller in size because they are for short range attack and can carry 4 millies also...the type used on alqemani or so...from uae on bahrain yes no p..the biigger ones can stay in the could for longer day monitoring buhari and his jihadist pepole...

how do you put this ones in a cargo boy that can be carried by hand?

We southerners are keeping quiet and the northerners are fully arming themselves and when the time comes I hope we don't cry foul. Issues like these should be brought to the fore so that we can shed more light on it. A few weeks ago the attorney general was quick to announce that amotekun is illegal but issue like the case of this weaponised drone he simply lost his voice what an irony.

I hope u remember that it was an Ibo man named Kelechi that imported the drone! Obviously, the importation was vetted but someone leaked the info to 'SR' (which may be the guy in detention) to raise unnecessary suspicion and give the whole scenario a 'red colour' .

Nigerian Army Arrests, Detains Officers Over Intercepted Weaponised Drones Discovered At Lagos Airport After SaharaReporters’ Story

SaharaReporters had on February 5, 2020 exclusively reported how the items were discovered in a carton at the cargo section of the local wing of the Lagos airport and military officers arrested a man named Kelechi for being in possession of the two highly weaponised drones.

The Military Intelligence has arrested and detained personnel on duty on January 28, 2020 when two weaponised drones were intercepted at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos.

SaharaReporters had on February 5, 2020 exclusively reported how the items were discovered in a carton at the cargo section of the local wing of the Lagos airport and military officers arrested a man named Kelechi for being in possession of the two highly weaponised drones.

Investigation revealed that the following day the man was asked to write a statement after which he was detained.

Upon interrogation at the National Air Defense Corps, Ikeja, the suspect claimed to be working for the Kaduna State Government.

Further investigation revealed that, Commander of NADC, Air commodore U.K Abdullah, later received a call from some unknown persons, who ordered him to release the man and drones.

Abdullah, it was gathered, later released the suspect and drones on January 30, 2020.

The commander, who only assumed duties in December 2019 at the NADC, was said to have instructed his officers to drop further investigation on the matter.

However, in the latest twist to the matter as discovered by SaharaReporters, out of the military personnel arrest over the incident, all those from the Northern part of the country have been released by the authorities, leaving only one ACM Chike Mba, an Easterner, in detention.

The soldiers were all held for three days during, which period they are interrogated over the incident before the others except Mba were released.

SaharaReporters gathered that authorities of the NADC are currently conducting an internal investigation to identify those responsible for leaking photos of the weaponised drone.

The officers could face a court martial and be sentenced to time in prison if found guilty of any offence by military authorities.

Recall that in May 2016, the Nigerian Government placed a ban on launching Remotely Piloted Aircraft or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (drones) in its airspace without a permit from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority as well as the Office of the National Security Adviser.

According to the rule, drones weighing more than 250 grams (.55 pounds) must be registered with the NCAA.

Though the Kaduna State Government has denied having anything to do with the intercepted drones, findings by SaharaReporters indicated that it is among states that had made moves to deploy drones to tackle bandits, kidnappers, and killer herdsmen within its territory in recent times.

Why would any law enforcement person of Igbo ethnicity get involved with the arrest of the anybody who wants to destroy the shithole called Nigeria? The Nigerian air force can keep the dumbass Chike Mba in cell forever.

The dots are starting to connect.

1 - Do you all remember that Ooni went twice to see Buhari in Abuja over security in SW? On his last visit, Buhari promised to deploy drones and cctv to fight insecurity in SW. He never said in Nigeria....he said in SW!

That same day, in Lagos, Aare Ona Kakanfo spoke publicly and said thats not what we need in SW. He questioned why Buhari had not see fit to use drone and cctv to fight insecurity in NW, which is the breeding ground for bandits.

After Ooni got back home and delivered Buhari's message. Yoruba Elders met in Ibadan and denounced the idea. About two weeks after that they met again in Akure. It was in the Akure meeting the go ahead was given for Amotekun.

2 - Here now we hear that someone, a scapegoat hungry for money, has been given contract by Kaduna State Government to sneak shipment of weaponised drones into the country. If this equipment is truly to fight insecurity why is it being smuggled in? Which sky are they going to fly these weaponized drones?

3 - After the opening of Kaduna Dry Port, El Rufai had said to his people any shipment destined for North will no longer have checks or inspection at Lagos. They will be shipped with their seal to Custom posts in the dry port where they are inspected.

My people, wake up! Northerners are amassing weapons of war already.

Sorry for that Iboman. He is helping Fulani bring in weapons they will use to destroy South.

Commander Abdullah gave order for investigations to b dropped but Mba is d scape goat.. Issorait

If after preliminary investigation all those released were not found culpable; does Sahara Reporters expect them to be detained (despite their innocence) simply because they are northerners?
Interestingly; only two names were clearly identified in the report and directly associated with the incidence: Kelechi for being in possession with the drones and Mba for being implicated with the smuggling - seemingly both names resonate with a particular region known for separatist its (terrorist) agitation.
