I heard Enugu state government has revoked the C of O for Enugu Centenary city. If this true, then Ugwuanyi and his entire cabinet members are mad.

What does this mean in essence? I'm from Amechi Awkunanaw where the centenary city is located and i know my people have been fighting for the land to be restored to the original owners.

This is reason why investors rarely invest in South East. Now, after many years of putting in money to deliver a world class city, the government wakes up one day and destroys a 500 million dollars investment.

Whilewe supporting the building of a world class mega city, it should be done with due diligence. We should not just take people's lands just because what we're going to do is is deemed commendable.

While I don't support forceful takeover of people's ancentral land, we should bear in mind that no development can take place without sacrifices. All the developed part of Enugu include the cherished independent layout are all people's land, imagine if they had all resisted government and private developers from developing them.

Tomorrow, we start blaming FG for abandoning South east meanwhile, we were the people chasing investors away.

Like i aid, they should follow due process. Compensate people they need to compensate. Don't just take people's land by force and when they fight back, it's interpreted as them not wanting development. It's nothing but blackmail.

No, Mr Kingsley Eze acquired the land in 1986, and intended on building the Enugu State University of Science and Technology. Private Estates International West Africa Ltd is his company. This has nothing to do with the Enugu Centenary city which is being built someplace else, on different land.

Those Centenary City developers are not serious! 2 years now will make it a decade that business initiative was first launched, and there’s hardly anything on ground to match up with what was depicted in the snazzy 3D rendering....certainly nothing near the $500 million purported cost!
