maoolakanm: My friend look at the above links, Government is a continuum, Jonathan started the work on that bridge under a PPP, and disbursed a huge chunk of Government part of the required funds before leaving office... Don't attempt to rewrite history. If Buhari dies today, that bridge would still be completed and tolled, because it is a PPP. |

Don't mind that guy. He doesn't know what he is saying. The PPP arrangement being considered by GEJ was cancelled and that's why there are no toll gates around the bridge. CoolAmbience: 1 Like |

Carlmax:So it took you two days to dig this thrash out? Is it that you cant read or you can't comprehend? In the first link, there was no where it said Jonathan has paid anything for the project not to talk of paying 50% of the project. These are the relevant quotes from the first link;
These are the relevant quotes from the second link; The project is being constructed under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) scheme. A Consortium JB-NSIA, is working on the project on the basis of Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT), at a total cost of N108 billion. The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) reviewed the concessionaire’s cost of N138 billion down to N108 billion. The project phases will be constructed under Engineering, Procurement and Construction contracts awarded by the Federal Ministry of Works (FMW). Now this is the stage of Works as at April 28 2018;
To some people even if Buhari build their fathers house from start to finish, they would complain and say Jonathan thought of it first, and built it in his dreams. |

Awol1: Since you remember so well, can you tell us the other party ti the contract that is funding the project other than FG? While at it, can you tell us how much GEJ paid to the contractor as FG share of the counterpart fund? |
Re: Fashola Inspects 2nd Niger Bridge Project, Asaba Section (Photos) by Carlmax(m): 12:30pm On Feb 12, 2020 |
wirinet: You are full of nothing but shit, first you said "Show us evidence president jonathan paid counterpart funds for the project and how much?" I simply provided links that showed " The Federal Government has so far committed N18.31billion. Out of this, N10.4 billion has been disbursed leaving a balance of N7.94 billion..." During GEJ's tenure. You are now spewing thrash. I did not write those articles and I am not against development by any Government if it benefits the common citizens. Jonathan is not my Father neither is Buhari yours so stop typing like a paid hand. Have a nice life. |

teepain: I acknowledge that but Fashola always gives excuses, thats the reality. Amaechi could have found excuses, afterall he is facing the same issues. If you look at Fashols's history, he takes glory but when things dont work it's always someone elses fault, even when he chop, he say he didnt sign cheques. Fashola Is overated, end of and I knew he would be found out when he gets to federal level!!!! |
Re: Fashola Inspects 2nd Niger Bridge Project, Asaba Section (Photos) by seunmsg(m): 12:56pm On Feb 12, 2020 |
Carlmax: Jonathan paid for the design and preparatory works. The actual contract for the construction was signed in 2018 after Jonathan left office. The PPP arrangement that Jonathan wanted to put in place didn’t work out. The Buhari administration is paying fully for the bridge without any private participation. |

Re: Fashola Inspects 2nd Niger Bridge Project, Asaba Section (Photos) by seunmsg(m): 1:06pm On Feb 12, 2020 |
isthatso: Road construction is not the same as railway construction. Government is fully funding road construction through annual budgets while railway construction is majorly funded by the Chinese with Nigeria paying about 20% counterpart fund. As part of the railway loan agreement with the Chinese, FG must pay its counterpart fund fully before commencement of construction. So you see, railway projects doesn’t encounter budgetary allocation and release problem. Amaechi is no Superman, he’s just fortunate that all he has to do is supervise and not worry about money. Two years ago, Saraki publicly boasted that he cut N30billion away from the proposed budget of Lagos-Ibadan expressway and second Niger Bridge. That’s the kind of problem that ministry of works is facing. Even when budget are approved, to get ministry of finance to release the money is another problem entirely. Some years, they may not even get up to 50% of approved budget. So, why will Fashola not come up with excuses? Will he use his personal money to construct the roads and bridges? |
