President Trump the Great will deliver his 4th State of the Union SOTU speech on Tuesday 4th February 2020. He is truly a great man, mentioned by name in the Bible centuries before he was born, in the order of god-kings and world rulers like Cyrus, the King of Persia. Cyrus built the temple of God in Jerusalem (2 Chronicles 36:23), something that President Trump has imitated.

Under the great President Trump, many great unprecedented achievements have been recorded, the President will trumpet these trumps on 4th February. Evil people tried to removed this great man via impeachment proceedings, but his impeachment turned out to be a massive triumph, rather than being brought down by this evil plans and works of the children of the devil, the impeachment actually elevated him, strengthened and rejuvenated him, and made him stronger and unbeatable! A new study comparing the genomes of 405 West African people to Neanderthal and Denisovan sequences has revealed the “ghost” of a mysterious and previously unknown hominin that once lived alongside our ancestors.

The study, by Arun Durvasula and Sriram Sankararaman of the University of California, Los Angeles, published this week in the journal Science Advance, sequenced the genomes of people from four modern West African populations.

After feeding the detailed data into very powerful computers, and then cross-examining and comparing them to Neanderthal and Denisovan sequences (as well as other modern African genomes) a spectral presence faintly revealed itself. Hidden deep in the DNA code of present-day humans is evidence of an extinct human species, detectable only by a few tell-tale genetic markers lingering in their ancestors. 

Human, but not Homo sapiens

The study’s authors say that these genetic differences are best explained by hybridisation with an unknown humanoid. This suggests that ancestors of modern West Africans interbred with a yet-undiscovered species of archaic human – similar to how ancient Europeans mated with Neanderthals. 

Once, many species of humans roamed the Earth, of which Homo sapiens was just one. In 2014 a landmark genetic study revealed that human beings of European and Asian descent are not entirely human, as we had previously understood the term. That is, they are partial hybrids of at least three human species: Homo sapiens, Neanderthals and Denisovans. Denisovan DNA seems to be mostly found in Oceanian and some East-Asian populations, but basically everyone except sub-Saharan Africans has some Neanderthal DNA lingering in their cells, around 4 percent on average.

The researchers believe that the ancestors of this unknown archaic"ghost" hominin branched off from the modern human family tree before Neanderthals did. They even seem to have left their mark in modern populations to an even greater extent than Neanderthals: the amount of ‘ghost’ DNA in modern West African people ranged from 2 to 19 percent.

With the help of mathematical models and computer-aided number crunching, the team estimates that this archaic hominin split off from the ancestor of Neanderthals and modern humans between 360,000 and 1 million years ago. Then, from about 124,000 years ago, that break-off hominin reunited with the ancestors of modern West Africans and interbred with them, for an unknown period of time. They believe that the population of this introgressing hominin group was about 25,000 strong.

Although this is a simplified version of events – the separating and admixture of different populations and sub-species can be extremely muddled and complex – this is the most likely scenario that can be pieced together from the limited evidence. 

Out of Africa
One of the most remarkable things about the 2014 bombshell was that it proved that the only people on the planet who did not have any Neanderthal DNA were sub-Saharan Africans. This is because most of the interbreeding between different human species happened outside of the African continent, after the first humans had ventured out and began spreading to the rest of the world. Sub-Saharan African people’s ancestors have, as best we know, never left sub-Saharan Africa. But far from making them a uniform or an inbred population, they are in fact by far the most genetically diverse peoples on Earth. Just compare a Maasai warrior to a Congolese pygmy to a Ghanaian sprinter – there is more variation here than anywhere else on the planet.

European and Asian populations, although displaying a tremendous amount of morphological (physical) differences, from body size to facial shapes, are surprisingly inbred. But as the ancestors of European and Asian people migrated out of Africa, most would have died off in so-called ‘bottleneck’ events. Any number of new threats, from plague, to new predators or environmental catastrophes could have killed off swathes of the migrants, leaving only a few alive to reproduce and spawn the next generation.

It appears Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has mastered the fine art of flattery. He was certainly not short of praise for US President Donald Trump during their recent meeting in the White House.

In his perhaps overly-complimentary remarks on Monday, Netanyahu said Trump will be remembered “through the ages”for making a decision that “others talked about” but never followed through on.

Referencing Trump’s decision to move the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem — and to formally recognize the Holy City as Israel’s capital —  Netanyahu compared Trump to some of the most notable figures in Israel’s history: King Cyrus of Persia, Lord Arthur James Balfour and former President Harry Truman.

King Cyrus freed the Jews from exile in Babylon 2,500 years ago. Balfour, the former British foreign secretary, declared a"national home for the Jewish people" in 1917, and Truman was the first world leader to recognize the Jewish state — 11 minutes after it was declared in 1948.


The comments will surely please Trump, who has made headlines for his tendency to exaggerate, as well as his hyperbolic statements about his own significance. Last year, for example, Trump claimed that during his visit to China he was treated“better than anybody's ever been treated in the history of China.”

After lavishing praise on Trump, Netanyahu swiftly moved on to more important matters: Iran. Netanyahu is expected to use his visit to Washington to push Trump to renegotiate the deal made by former President Barack Obama’s administration to limit Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

Echoing comments Trump previously made about the Iran deal, Netanyahu said Tehran came out of that deal“emboldened” and “enriched.”

“Iran must be stopped. That is our common challenge,” he told Trump.

Netanyahu only made a passing mention of finding peace with the Palestinians — something Trump mentioned more than once.

“If we could do peace between Israel and the Palestinians, that would be a great thing for the world,” Trump said. “It would be a great thing for this country and for everybody.”

The White House has said it is finalizing a peace plan for the Middle East, but while Trump himself believes there is a “very good chance” of achieving peace, the decision to move the US embassy to Jerusalem has already prompted the  Palestinians to write Trump off as a fair broker in negotiations.

The man in charge of the White House’s peace plan effort, Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law and senior adviser, recently had his security clearance downgraded — which may complicate matters further.

During the meeting with Netanyahu, Trump also floated the possibility that he would travel to Jerusalem for the opening of the new American embassy in May.

However, it has now been revealed that what was seen as the UK’s bid to defy its main ally may have been short-lived. A mere three days later, UK Middle East Minister Alistair Burt reportedly told members of the British Palestinian Policy Council that the UK is not ready to go as far as to refuse visits to the US embassy altogether.

“When we asked him to confirm [that] UK officials would not attend meetings at the embassy going forward, as the UK does not recognize it, he was very clear that they would attend,” a source who was present at the meeting with Burt told the Middle East Eye.

Apart from the US, only two other countries, Guatemala and Paraguay, followed the US' lead and moved their embassies to Jerusalem, which Israel considers to be its “united and undivided” capital, a notion that has found no support from the international community. As with the majority of the countries, the UK backs the two-state solution in which Jerusalem is envisaged as a shared capital of the states of Israel and Palestine.

Controversy over the UK's plans to allow its diplomats to visit the US Embassy in Jerusalem is another ambiguous signal from London over the recent developments in the Palestinian-Israeli standoff. On Friday, the UK abstained from a UN Human Rights Council vote to launch a war crimes probe into the brutal crackdown on Palestinian protesters by Israel. Only two countries, the US and Australia, voted against the resolution. The decision was slammed by shadow foreign secretary Emily Thornberry,  Labour Party, who said she was “disgusted” that the UK government did not support the independent investigation.

The way Britain went from standing up to the US to pandering to US President Donald Trump in just a few days screams of hypocrisy, Peter Ford, former UK ambassador to Syria, said. He rejected the argument that by maintaining contacts with the US Embassy in Jerusalem, the UK can have better leverage with Washington.

“I would personally totally reject that. I think it’s laughable, the idea that British diplomats in Tel Aviv by trotting up to meet American diplomats in Jerusalem can have any influence over that embassy which is in the stewardship of the American ambassador, who is very extreme, is laughable,” Ford said.

The former diplomat argued that things would be very different had it not been the US that moved its embassy, but Russia.

“Would the British position be to continue doing business with it? No way. There would have been horrified exclamations, legal arguments would have been found to justify Britain’s position of having nothing to do with this Russian embassy. It’s double standards.”

The UK's inability to back up its words with deeds further emboldens Trump and sets a dangerous precedent in light of the US exit from the Iran nuclear deal, he noted.

“It’s a missed opportunity. It makes it look like Trump is able to bully his way past the Europeans and that’s a very bad precedent in the context with Iran.”

The American embassy in Jerusalem is nothing short of a “new shrine” for the Jewish nation, the US ambassador said on the anniversary of the embassy move that has sparked violent protests and clashes ever since.

“We have done something that has not been in quite some time: We have created a new shrine in the ancient city of Jerusalem,” US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman said Tuesday, celebrating the one-year anniversary of the US embassy’s opening in Jerusalem, observing that people often get off the buses and recite a prayer at the diplomatic site.

“Israel has one secret weapon that not too many countries have: Israel is on the side of God. And we don’t underestimate that,” Friedman claimed.

President Donald Trump shocked the world with his decision to move the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Despite US claims that the move will rejuvenate peace negotiations between two longtime foes, the development only intensified the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and angered the Arab world after effectively decimating hope for the two-state solution which envisioned East Jerusalem as a capital for the Palestinian people. Violence and weekly clashes have been raging in the region for over a year.

The inauguration ceremony last May 14 fell on one of the deadliest days of the Great March of Return protests, in which Israeli soldiers killed over 60 Palestinians. Despite that, Friedman stressed that “the violence in Gaza had nothing to do with the opening of the embassy.”

Concerned with possible repetition of last year’s violence, the US embassy issued an alert warning that “security incidents can occur well beyond Gaza and its periphery and at any time.” While major confrontations were averted on Tuesday, massive Nakba Day rallies are scheduled for Wednesday, which will coincide with the Eurovision song contest being held in Israel. 

Protests are expected to take place along Gaza border and in the West Bank. The IDF and border police units have been placed on high alert ahead of the marches commemorating the displacement of Palestinians following the creation of the State of Israel in 1948.

Africa’s largest oil producer could see oil production fall by 35 percent as low oil prices and regulatory uncertainty threaten to prompt oil majors to postpone final investment decisions.

OPEC member Nigeria is the largest oil producer in Africa and it pumped 1.776 million barrels of oil per day (bpd) in January 2020, according to OPEC’s secondary sources in its monthly report published this week. Adding condensate production, Nigeria’s total oil output exceeds 2 million bpd.

However, three deepwater projects offshore Nigeria, operated by oil majors Exxon, Shell, and Total, could see their start-up dates delayed by two to four years to the late 2020s, according to the research WoodMac shared with Reuters ahead of publishing it on Friday.
The regulatory changes in Nigeria’s oil industry and the still pending final approval of a petroleum bill - after two decades of delays and wrangling - act as deterrents to the oil majors’ investment decisions, according to Wood Mackenzie.

Moreover, the three deepwater projects - which could add a combined 300,000 bpd to Nigeria’s production - are not profitable at current oil prices with Brent Crude below $60 a barrel, the consultancy noted.

Just this week, Nigeria assured foreign oil investors that the country is open to business and can guarantee high returns on investment, the country’s President Muhammadu Buhari told an energy conference on Monday.

Nigeria is set to finally pass a new bill regulating johnw47 the petroleum industry by the middle of this year, after nearly two decades of delays, the country’s Minister of Petroleum Timipre Sylva said at the same event.
