An infraction by a party candidate is viewed as the party's shortcoming. Thus, the party as a whole suffers the consequence. The party is sacked, not the individual.

well I think the deputy's 'error' as you call it is a legal ground because this case isn't na impeachment, it's more like saying they both weren't qualified for running in the first place hence nullifying their entire election and vote counts.

What happened to APC in Bayelsa is very synonymous to what befall PDP in Bayelsa. Yet, nobody will WAIL. At least, Supreme Court's declaration did not favour APC this time.

In a way, this tells us that APC did not influence Imo's winning at the Supreme Court.

The supreme court should have allowed Lyon to be sworn in and disqualified his deputy. Lyon would then pick another deputy. The people of Bayelsa voted for Lyon, not his deputy.

I don't see INEC issuing a certificate of return to the PDP candidate as he probably won't meet the Constitutional spread to be sworn in as governor. I need Brass LGA election results to confirm my thoughts.

Based on the Supreme Court judgment, INEC will probably announce a fresh election in Bayelsa.
