Level 5, UEFA Pro Licence (focus on how to manage)

A mandatory qualification for managing in the FA Premier League and UEFA competitions.

Work as a manager/coach in the professional game, or Academy Manager.

Level 3, UEFA B Licence (focus on functions, phases of play and 8v8 games)

Level 2, Certificate in Coaching Football(focus on how we coach, play, support and the future player)

Find work in Football in the Community, local authorities, US soccer camps.
You have 3 years to complete, but it can be achieved in 6 months. PFA members can start their coaching pathway at this tier.

Useful for local community work, and can be completed in a few weeks. Not a mandatory qualification, but a gentle introduction

This is the first level of CAF qualifications by the description : FUFA level One Coaching Course.

That is organized by the local FA, in the case portharcourt FA.. Participants join the coaching association. That's normal.

He has not even started the practise stage. That will take a year before he gets the badge.

It will take a year before he can even apply for CAF C license. CAF C license is offered by CAF, he does not have to join a local fa coaching association for this.

A CAF C licensed coach is only qualified for academy level players.

Yobo just came back from a course. Basically there are three criteria. The first one is your certificate, then the second one is your playing experience, then your work experience. He has two out of the three - playing experience and his certificate

He can enroll for the license, while on the job, just like people enroll for Masters and even First Degrees, while in employment. Maybe he will be promoted to Head Coach, after getting his certificate. Rohr has more than one assistant, does he not?

Some people are harbouring the believe that the NFF have planted Yobo in the team to get Rohr sacked or something...

It's not every assistant coach that would be advising the head coach .. some of them are there to learn.. Arteta was always sitting beside Pep with a notebook in hand and getting advises... I don't see why Yobo and Rohr can't work like that...

Amokachi has coached in nassarawa united and enyimba and he has even coached in hercules (an european team in Finland). He was assistant to Keshi and Amodu. At least he has some coaching experience and should have been considered ahead of Yobo.
However, there are exceptions to the rule. Some people invent things and even contribute to knowledge without going to university but then you cannot do things based on exceptions and that is where the danger lies.
Innate ability is not enough without some kind of training. How competent is Yobo anyway. Has he been tested anywhere? The decision is funny and Yobo really has to work hard to prove a point.
An exception to the rule is Srinivasa Ramanujan who got a phd in Mathematics in Harvard based on research while he was poorly educated and also Vivien Thomas who performed cardiac surgery without a degree but then again, how many people are like that?

you are absolutely right, but looking at it from another angle there are very few ex-players that are presently into coaching, I only know of Amunike who has another job already, Finidi who recently criticized Rhor so he definitely can't be offered the job and Olofinjana who has a better job in England. Maybe the NFF is trying to encourage more ex-players to go into coaching which isn't such a bad idea. Let's see how it goes
