We try all effort to reach our neighbours but they shun us when we visit them to discuss, later they'll like to force their festivities on us, but when we say "NO" they pick offence at us! smiley

After studying with some for years, they concluded they're ready to live by the standards set by our organization as in becoming members of our family. But later they'll say they're no more interested in the rules binding us as one family, yet they want to be treated as family members! smiley

Now meditate on these and tell me where we go wrong! smiley

U don't actually get it wrong... I think u are doing ur thing on a very very wrong premisies. When u bring in the the God factor in a human phenomenon u just can never get it right because the people just pretend to understand u without really understanding u. The fear factor and all the unknown unexplainable brouhaha allows them to remain in ur control unit they are able to relate that what u are telling them is just a fairy tale.

People Will definitely shun u when the reality of what they face is not corresponding with what u are telling them. This makes them Lost in ur whole devine all knowing being story. When they can't relate, which is quite understandable, they push u out.. Unfortunate ur God seem to be lost in this.

That means it's not by force to remain in our midst, they're free to go.

But the irony of the matter is "instead of walking away peacefully, they want to force themselves on us after shunning our rules. So who is now the victim of intolerance? Those who feel like leaving us but want us to forgo our beliefs or we who forgets them and continue dealing with our fellow adherents?" smiley

Believe me, I KNOW. My husband tells me it makes me look more fiesty. And there was a time back in my younger days I had to walk around in public with a stupid smile on my face at all times. Because if I had frowned for any reason, I would have to beat the swarm of men away with a feather duster.

LOL, u want to be winning people over but u don't expect people to want to win u over.

As long as we are humans with different brain capacities, we will all be victims of the act of winning each other over.

You said "all humans love peace" even though that's not 100% correct but can there be peace without concrete agreement on dos and donts?

Well that's why we are going to visit our neighbours IN THEIR HOMES to discuss on how we can deal peaceful with one another.

There is just one group on planet Earth that agree completely with the concept of higher intelligent minds "Jehovah's Witnesses". All other groups be it religious or social are just dribbling themselves, because each of them just want to live by his own personal standard, that's why there is no peace in all their settings.

The more intelligent ones amongst them have discovered that humans are inclined towards worship, so they're seizing the opportunity to hypnotize them and make fortune out of their stupidity. Meanwhile since each of them just want to live by his own standard, it's either they choose the group that suits their liken or organize another one and start calling people having the same mindset to come and join them, that's why there are countless religious groups with contradicting doctrines and conflicting teachings, yet claiming worshipers of the same God today!

Asinine posts over asinine posts.
Insane claims over insane claims. And even more insane claims.

Nairaland "true" Christians are doing a good job of turning even more people away from their religion with their credulous posts and intellectually dishonest so-called "rebuttals."

As usual, I would like to thank them for helping the cause of secularism by acting as first-hand examples of how religion can reduce otherwise sane humans to merely indoctrinated puppets who are victims of their own circumstances.

This would be great for those who are sitting on the fence as regards religion and would read the threads in the near and distant future.

I never said all humans love peace. There are different people from different background... It's impossible to have all people who love peace. Rather most people love peace.
Yes there can be peace even when people don't agree but certainly not when everybody is concorting their own fairy tale and each insisting that other people's fairy tale is wrong while their own fairy tale is wrong.

I really don't know how mind control works but I don't advocate for people to allow themselves to be deceived or for people to be scared to believe in lies. People just really need to use their brain instead of allowing it to waste. If God is real, he should simply prove himself beyond any reasonable doubt.

Not accepting that God exists does not automatically means one wants to live by his own personal standard.
If a group of people must live in harmony, they must learn to create their own rule and decide on how to punish defaulters. Living by one's own personal standard only implies not minding how others feel when u do something u like but affects others. People must learn to sacrifice, obey rules that makes the society sane and learn to show empathy to others.
Believing in a higher intelligent being is just nothing but shifting responsibility.

I'm a bit confused with the first underlined.

The second underlined is exactly what Jehovah's Witnesses believe and we're practicing in our midst.

So you can now ask those who don't want to live by the standard we set within ourselves, what exactly they want from us!

As for God whether he exist or not is no more an interesting topic between us since you and i have agreed that people can decide to set standards within themselves, agree to live by it and set penalties for defaulters WITHIN!

Regarding what i said about Jehovah's Witnesses, well think of what will happen if everyone on planet earth vowed and stick to their vows,

Never to ~

JW are not the only group that preach about living in harmony, but like all other groups that preach this, they have not achieved any feat. Pls stop parading ur ignorance like a juvenile. U cannot acheieve peacr by preaching fairy tales, distancing ur selves from politics and not celebrating occasions that brings people together in happyness.

Ur standard is not the ideal standard. Those who live by it are not even a model to be envied.

And like I told u u are not the only group that advocate that people stick to such vows. The question is, how possible is that? In a world of scarce means of survival, I doubt if any group can acheieve such feat. Climb down from ur high fairy tale horse and face the reality of the world u live in.

(1) I served several years with the military intelligence agencies, and i've not noticed any other group, organization or society that live in peace except JWs. The fact is that people find it difficult to submit to rules set by someone else, they strongly believe that such rules must have been arranged in favour of the one who set it!

(2) People practicing politics and festivities are everywhere on this planet, but what i've observed in the midst of Jehovah's Witnesses is found nowhere else! Despite the fact that JWs don't practice politics nor celebrate any of the so call festivities as people the world over does, yet a JW from Nigeria is welcomed as a family member in any other country on this planet, they'll treat him as if they've known this total stranger for long.
WHY? Just because he is one of their fellow JWs from somewhere else!
My friend, that is IMPOSSIBLE even in the midst of ATHEISTS!

(3) Perhaps you can find an ideal standard, please don't forget me bey that's what i want NOT Jehovah's Witnesses!

(4)As i said earlier, i was born and bread a Muslim, worked as military intelligence officer and the one and only organization i have noticed so far is Jehovah's Witnesses. You can ask soldiers that have been to battle as in real war front, just ask them if they've ever noticed someone or group of persons who will prefer to surrender their lives instead of killing others even if it's the last option. My friend, what you will hear about Jehovah's Witnesses may surprise you!

Certainly achieving PEACE is possible if people truly humble themselves to learn how to go about it. The problem is pride and ego. Jehovah's Witnesses are preaching, teaching and practicing PEACE everywhere they live! smiley

When you are exposing a scam; the nastiest responses you get are not from the people perpetrating the scam. The perpetrators just want you to go away quietly. Ironically, the nastiest responses come from the current victims of the scam.

Unfortunately we are born ignorant with a willingness to believe anything and learn from those who come before us. When those before us believe in magic woo woo, then we grow to believe in the same bullshit.

Because religion is anti intellectual, anti science and anti reason, it helps keeps people ignorant , dogmatic, closed minded ,bigoted and hateful. It is no coincidence that religiosity is highest in places with high levels of poverty and ignorance (as in lack of eduction). You don't HAVE to be poor, ignorant and stupid to be a believer, but it's certainly an advantage.

Atheists don't get much sympathy here in Nigeria, I've observed.....except that this is changing, as I believe that the Internet has acted to make places a lot less insular and, perhaps, more open-minded.

There is a sense that Atheists are--somehow--this enemy of religion, and that we have no morality or ethics.

Funny, but you'd likely not consider the above a description of what was done to Christ. He too "exposed a scam" that "was anti intellectual, anti science and anti reason, it kept people ignorant, dogmatic, closed minded, bigoted and hateful", and the "perpetrators just wanted him to go away quietly", but when he didn't, "ironically, the nastiest responses came from the current victims of the scam" who called for his crucification on a cross!

You would not see Christ as the education (the Word) that frees the "ignorant with a willingness to believe anything and learn from those who come before us", because, you are focusing on the "magic woo woo", and have "grown to believe in the same bullshit" instead of endeavouring to understand and comprehend it.

Thankfully, "this is changing". "The Internet has ensured the Logos, Word, Education, Christ etc, has definitely acted to make places a lot less insular and, perhaps, more open-minded".

I'd be surprised if you see it that way though, because, like most, religion might have blinded your understanding. But do correct me if im wrong about you.

Quite correct at bolded. I do not see Christians as educators (far less as educated). What we see is your actions. Isn't there a quote about "judging by their actions" ...... ?

Well ..... lets see shall we.....

AD 354 ..... First burning of libraries in various cities of the empire.

AD 364 ..... Emperor Jovian orders the burning of the Library of Antioch.

AD 370 ..... Antioch, the philosopher Simonides is burned alive and the philosopher Maximus is decapitated. Tons of books are burnt in the squares of the cities of the Eastern Empire.

AD 372 ..... Valens orders the governor of Minor Asia to exterminate all the Hellenes and all documents of their wisdom.

AD 375 ..... The temple of Asclepius in Epidaurus, Greece, (possibly the greatest shool of medicine in the ancient world , is closed down by the Christians.

AD 381 ..... Throughout the Eastern Empire pagan temples and libraries are looted or burned down.

AD 388 ..... Public talks on religious subjects are outlawed by Theodosius.

AD 391 ..... In Alexandria, Egypt, pagans, led by the philosopher Olympius, revolt and after some street fights they lock themselves inside the fortified temple of the god Serapis (the Serapeion). After a violent siege, the Christians take over the building, demolish it, burn its famous library and profane the cult images.

AD 415 ..... Hypatia, Alexandrian Neoplatonist philosopher ,scholar ,astronomer and mathematician. Brutally murdered by a mob of monks agitated by Bishop Cyril and led by Cyril's right-hand man, Peter the Reader. Dragged from her chariot and into a church, she was stabbed repeatedly and skinned with oyster shells. Her naked body was burned to disguise the crime. Hypatia was not made a saint, nor honoured as a martyr.

'Saint' Cyril, however, made the grade. A 'Pillar of the Faith' he was declared a doctor of the Universal Church in 1882. Cyril remains a luminary of the Coptic Christian Church to this day.

Nice one, Cyril...

I shall stop here as I could go on all night, but I'm sure you get the point....

I'll finish with a quote from that great educator Augustine of Hippo:

"Since God has spoken to us it is no longer necessary for us to think." – St Augustine

And that ,I think ,says it all....

budaatum:

Thankfully, "this is changing". "The Internet has ensured the Logos, Word, Education, Christ etc, has definitely acted to make places a lot less insular and, perhaps, more open-minded".

I'd be surprised if you see it that way though, because, like most, religion might have blinded your understanding. But do correct me if im wrong about you.
You are wrong.

But you have done a nice job in defining many theists as "ignorant with a willingness to believe anything". Personally, I prefer to check out the goods before I sign any cheques.

Corporate sponsorship for the Jesus logo is praised by Christian consumers who hide their chocolate bunny eggs under their L.E.D. trees during the festive Pagan holidays they hijacked from days of yore to better promote and profit from the childhood indoctrinations in the never-ending quest to dutifully support their all-knowing, all-powerful, financially-irresponsible, lovingly-sadistic, compassionately-narcissistic, confidently-insecure, warmongering-pacifistic creator of the universe. Furthermore, purple pillow puppies bravely bark before biting bright blue birdies singing sweet soothing songs waking weary wayward wanderers from fallows fenced for fame.

Just a little history lesson budaatum. After christ got nailed and promoted to heaven, it took a few hundred years for all the supposed "christian" sects to get their shit together and organized. Rome declined, and after it's fall, christianity took over. Under the control of christianity, intellectual darkness ruled, until the Renaissance. I suggest you examine christianity for what it is, a hindrance to human advancement and the sciences.

How can he even just think that JW are the only group that take care of their own and advocate for peace. What kind of adult thinks like this?

The type that has been to so many places in the mission for war and have observed that there is just one group that truthfully care for their members whenever disaster strikes be it natural or man-made! smiley

Those who know buda will laugh at the above.

I'll just state that I will not bother with the selectivity with which you've chosen your evidence because the mere fact that you have shown an awareness of your selections is sufficient for me to know you can provide counters for each one yourself.

I do appreciate the effort all the same, Tamara.

Lol

I apologize if I come off as "sheer lazy" this minute because I'm sincerely occupied and typing on my smart phone is stress.

When I get home to my PC, we'll find out what your problem really is.
You'll do well to spare yourself the stress of engaging Budaatum. It's like chasing the wind. The person behind that moniker is neither here nor there.
