vantagepoint200:
Hello everyone, as we all know, CRS scores have been really high lately. As we hopefully wait for the scores to reduce, we should also consider alternative PR options for relocating to Canada. there are a couple of pilots ongoing e.g the Atlantic pilot, rural and northern pilots, and the caregiver. These have more or less requirements than the the express entry program but usually require applicants to have secured a job offer in Canada. If you are interested in any of these pilots but do not know how to go about getting a job in Canada from outside Canada, I could provide information you'll find very useful.

I know no one is being payed to respond, so I'm once again KINDLY ASKING for a response to this question.
Thank you in advance.

Sorry, I thought someone had responded. You'll need to liquidate it and show evidence that you have the money in your account (bank statement).

You can liquidate your investment prior to submitting your application post ITA and use the statement of account, or submit the treasury bill certificate. However, there are several instances where IRCC will raise flags about the certificate during processing of your application. At that point, you'll be required to liquidate and send them your bank statement.
Concerning the time, the longer the treasury bill stays, the better!!! If the treasury bill had been in your name and over 6months old, no issues at all. Just liquidate and submit your statement showing the balance. You don't need to wait another 6 months.

Thanks.

I had 8 in IELTS and spouse had 6.5, so I think we can do better there. We did not evaluate spouse's degree at the time, but we will be doing so now. We will enter the pool with whatever we have now and maybe by some miracle, the scores will drop for a minute and we can get ITA again with those points.

Thanks again.

All hope is not lost at all, at all.

We all make mistakes..
..the koko is to learn from our mistakes and find the way out.

Great suggestion from jjohndoe83, spouse BSc can fetch you extra 8 points...no need to wait for MBA (10 points). Spouse IELTS if maxed, can fetch you 20 points..meaning an extra 8 points if previous result was a CLB7 or 8 (12 points). Then you too maxing out on IELTS to CLB10 if possible and being ready to shoot out your transcripts to IQAS once they reopen, and you could see yourselves in the late 460s or early 470s.

Depending on your NOC, one province might even pluck you up before then. Sask has expanded their OID list significantly, you may want to check there for your NOC or spouse's NOC.

All the best ma'am.

Thank you @SunshineD1 for the response. The second part of my question though: please is there a required timeline, like one has to show that it's been there for 6 months (just like when using SOA), or timeline doesn't apply to tbills (so long as its in the primary applicants name)?

Would really appreciate your response!

No, it is not necessary. Fix it for a long tenure though, say 91 days

I just checked the Sask OID and noticed that my hubby's NOC is on the list. I have just submitted an EOI for him. The point is low though (63), but it was enough to get him in. We will proceed with evaluation of his qualifications. I am so grateful for your assistance and help, thank you. I am choosing to be positive because I really just cannot afford to break down now.

Its PPR guys!!!! Its actually PPR!! God is just too awesome. Details soonest. Still seems like I'm floating in air...
Okay, so I think i’v returned back to earth now.
My Timeline
IELTS : April 6th 2019 L8 R9 W7 S8
WES : August 19th 2019 (Professional degree)
ITA : August 20th 2019 (CRS 465)
AOR : September 21st 2019
MEP/BIL : October 3rd 2019
GU 1 : October 17th 2019
GU 2 : February 13th 2020
Love Letter (PPR) : February 14th 2020
Family of 1

MY EPIC STORY
Always felt deep down that I was going to relocate abroad at some point in my life after my University. But at what stage and to what country? Didn’t have the faintest clue. All I knew was I was sha leaving Buhari land at some point. My elder brother relocating to Canada with his family in 2014 really motivated me to put in more conscious effort into researching which countries would be best for a doctor (Optometrist) planning to relocate. Options were narrowed down to Canada and the USA, but the strict rules, retraining and bridging programmes required for licensure and practise for migrant health care practitioners discouraged me once more.
Graduating from university and moving for NYSC finally made it crystal clear that there was no future for me in naija . But the fear of starting from scratch after 7 years of training, plus 1 year of NYSC simply scared the hell outta me. My brother ( Bless his soul) literally had to force me to register for my IELTS and paid for the exam on Feb 14th 2019. Na so I start to dey find materials online o, reading very slowly in my spare time during and after work and chose a date which I knew I would have enough time to prepare before then( April 6th). NYSC was now over and my IELTS exam getting closer. Decided not to take up any job just yet because the fear of say person 75k just go laidat and coupled with the fact say I know i neva read jack, kept me on my toes.

IELTS
Arriving back home (Benin) from NYSC, I realised I only had a few weeks more to prepare. I knew id read quite a lot at this point but id heard all the IELTS stories na. ‘These people will not use me to shine’. Kept practicing with my Cambridge 1-12. Didn’t discover youtube speaking videos till a day to my speaking test. Speaking test came and was asked to speak on a topic id practiced from the youtube videos the previous day (a skill that was difficult for you to learn). Ah! Auntie God bless you. How did you know I watched that video last night. Are you an angel?? I talk to the woman with mind joor, maintained eye contact (look into my eyes and gimme my cool. I was just confident during and after the speaking test.
The day of the other tests came. My old man dropped me off by 6:30am (is it not me dat is looking for free ride) so had to wait till 8am to be checked in. I jump enta hall first (nothing dey apun nau, na we dey here) not knowing that that demonic AC will nearly freeze me to death. Too much AC means, no sweating and no sweating means piss go hold you. 10am, just b4 dem share paper, naim I raise hand o “Oga abeg i wantu goan piss". Oga say sidon there. Chai!!! I hold dat piss take do listening. B4 reading i raise hand again “Oga i wantu goan piss" Oga say ‘sidon there, its not time yet’. At this point i started to reflect on how it was a bad idea visiting my villlage the previous december. Well Oga finally agreed to lemme goan piss while the reading had started. Usain Bolt would have been proud of the display of sprinting prowess I showed before returning to continue my reading test. Made it through the rest of the exam without providing more comedic content for Oga invigilator and the other test takers.
Well results were due to be released on good friday and after the anxiety of waiting all day and resigning to the fact that BC had gone to chop easter rice, late in the evening I saw the result had been uploaded. First thing that caught my eye was ‘Writing-7’...See screaming mehn.. I’d passed the almighty Writing, with Listening – 8, Reading – 9 and Speaking – 8. Id made my IELTS at the first attempt, wow!! God is great. Things were actually looking up for me, and God had embarresed the edo winches...lolzz.

ECA
Paid the WES processing fee and proceeded to Uniben to start my transcript processing through ETX ( Had I known...). Those people kept me waiting for weeks and weeks till the Lord ministered to my that this ETX waka was not the way at all. The period of come today, come tomorrow seemed endless, till I met a church member who worked in the exams and records offices. We tracked my transcript to one Yellow Aunties table. Yellow Auntie said she will do her work before weekend that we should just exercise patience ( all she needed to do was to bring out some files which were on a shelf right in front of her). My church member said ‘can I just do it' and Yellow Auntie was like ‘go right ahead', which I later learnt could be translated as ‘your own don finish'. Transcript was moving smoothly o, until e jam anoda rock for 2 weeks. Next I heard was that transcript haff lost. Jeezzzoooossss!!! 100L- 600L results gone missing between offices in exams and records. I thought after my pissing escapade these village pple had been banished. Osalobua laho!!
Well after resubmission of many documents and the help of anoda very kind lady at exams and records( not all of them fly at night) transcript was finally ready for sending to WES. Send it to WES nau, they said Uniben ddnt have light dat week and I’d have to wait till light comes for them to print cover letter. Like seriously?? Nothing surprises anymore with Nigerian universities. Light sha eventually came and that was when my previously missing 100L-600L raw scores danced Zanku and reappeared from where it was previously hiding. On Sunday morning my church member told me that the file was found in, guess where Starts with Ye and ends with ow Aunites Office. Well I sha said a prayer for her.... Ok more like swear...but you get the idea
WES sent the confirmation email to Uniben and Uniben replied (or so they said). WES say dem no get any reply, the Uniben guy say ‘WES too dey lie’. Chai!! See gbege !! Well, it took my appearing in person in the computer room of exams and records and requesting the guy there send it in my presence before that issue was finally resolved. Yayyy!!

REFERENCE LETTER
This one is not suppose to be an issue before o.... I decided to use my NYSC experience to claim points. Felt getting a reference letter would be easy because I was in really good terms with all the staff at the hospital where id served. My direct boss said id have to get it through the head of admin so I called him with confidence based on say I dey see him patients sharp sharp for clinic, even when its not their clinic day. So I called my bosom buddy to ask for a reference letter and as expected he said he’ll give me but was kinda busy at the moment. Kept calling to remind him of his promise and he finally obliged to type it out in the format I’d sent him and even forward it to me in Benin. What an amazing pal!!
Days turned to weeks and id still not heard from my real G. My guy had also stop taking my calls. Ah!! Abi d letter don already dey post? My former colleagues finally convinced my G to take his calls o and my guy told me that as he was typing the letter he suddenly realised that the letter was going to ‘outside country' and that ‘outside country' reference letter might require a small fee and I will have to write through the Overhead Ogakpatakpata Bishop Governor General of the hospital, through anoda Madam Kpatakpata General Overseer Supervisor General before they will consider approving my reference letter request. Well, God saw us through in the end, got the letter I needed and moved on.
It was after my IELTS I discovered the online goldmine that is Nairaland Canada Express Entry page. I simply googled express entry and it came up. Found so much important information just by reading through the first page. I never needed to ask any questions because as I read on, i found that they’d already been asked by someone else with concise and accurate answers given. Met the tread in Part 6 and I used to spend at least 4-5 hours a day (no jokes) going through previous posts as far back as part 4. Was determined to find as much information as I could get. I became obsessed with creating the ‘perfect' hitch free application. Nairaland became my bible and every morning I would read through all the posts till the current page of the thread.
If you can take time to really study this tread even from previous parts, I bet you you’d become a guru in this process.

ITA
After the long wait for the credential evaluation report, it was finally ready on Monday 19th of September 2019. Immediately I created my profile, no issues or questions asked (Oshey Nairaland Express entry guru) sitting on 465 and expecting a draw on Wednesday. Tuesday I woke up from my ‘beauty sleep' to find out that a draw had taken place with cut off of 457. God has done it o!! A day earlier than expected....was now fully convinced that my pissing villagers had been banished completely.

MEDICALS
Medicals was booked for Q-life on Friday 13th September and I arrived Lagos on the 12th. Got PCC from Inspector Moshood 6k (easy breezy) but didn’t get to my uncles place where i was suppose to stay till 11:30pm. 4:00am I was up and ready but the Uber couldn’t get into the estate cos of road construction( But y today of all days, tot these my ‘pple' had finally died na). So had to trek out of the estate and take anoda bike (20mins ride) to goan meet Uber guy who was already waiting. God bless that guy for me sha.
We reached Q-life at about 6:30am for me to write name as number 2 on the list. Things were looking up. Staff were owk, had no issues with them, just followed instructions till I saw the doctor who asked why my BP was high. ‘I dinnor reach house till 11:30pm last night becos of ur Lagos traffic and was up again by 4am. How wee my BP no be high'. She sha said it was already going down as per her subsequent readings.
Was done with medicals before 9am and took the time to visit some of my guys in Lagos then went to have ice cream later (at least dat one should lower the BP even more nau)

AOR
Finally decided my application was ready for submission after going through it the 479th time. Had just one letter of explanation for gift deed and uploaded payslips and highlighted salary deposits. For proof of PR and proof of status of sibling, I submitted the exact same documents ( citizenship document and Canadian passport). Paid RPRF and received AOR same day (21st September) . God bless you big bro!!!

MEP/ BIL
Got my biometrics request 12 days post AOR. It was going on very nicely. Got to VFS , did my biometrics, no fuss at all and I felt PPR was on the way ( Maybe in 6weeks...lol)

THE WAIT
I would read people say here that the wait is the most difficult part of the whole journey, but I thought to myself, ‘how hard could it possibly be?? Me that haff pass IELTS finish, survived Uniben wahala, scaled through all the obstacles....surely this should be a piece of cake’...Mumu me!! Just 2 weeks post BIL I don dey second guess my application o. Caught ghost update on the 17th of October (background check changed to ‘Your application is in progress....” and held on to this for hope, happiness and frankly, sanity. Was still hopeful I could get my PR before the year runs out and decided to join a Naija only AOR Aug/Sep/Oct WhatsApp group to monitor the status of applications with similar AOR's.
You really do go through the complete circle of emotions - hope, anxiety, frustration, anger, tiredness, momentary madness....during your wait on this journey. I also told myself I wasn’t gonna bother checking for visa office (Lemme not disturb them as they are processing it before dey wee make mistake...lol) Days became weeks and by late December when August AORs began getting PPR I felt January latest i go dance for my own. January came, still no show. ‘But people with AORs after me have started getting na!!’ This was my breaking point. Finally decided to give IRCC a call.
Found out my application was being processed at Ottawa VO, eligibility passed and background check in progress. Felt like telling that agent ‘send me ur acct details lemme give you small tin for malt'. This was exactly what I needed to reignite my optimism. I was now eating well again... Quite a number of September AORs had gotten PR and some October AORs were now getting theirs too. At this point I just told myself ‘the same God that took control of this process till this extent will see it through. I cant keep worrying like this’.
I felt it was coming but this time was determined not to worry about it. On valentines morning, I caught a ghost update and background check changed to ‘We are processing....”. Knew it was super close now. At exactly 10:59am got the most beautiful valentines love letter via email “Ready for visa...”. To say I went crazy after this is a mild way of putting it, but was just filled with so much thanks to God for everything he had done during the journey.
Its been an incredible experience filled with plenty of ups and downs but in all honesty, I wouldn’t have had it any other way. To everyone at one stage or the other in this process, please do your research (Its very necessary), hang in there no matter the obstacles or how senseless what you’re doing seems at the moment. Remember nothing good comes easy. If to say na so e easy, no body for still dey naija.
A new journey begins...God is indeed awesome!!!

Good day guys. I saw my IELTS result 8.7.7.7 LRSW and my crs is 462. Please what do u advise I do to increase my score.. note I used two or more cert. Will appreciate ur candid advise.. someone said I should hang on with the score that crs will definitely come down to that by mid year.

You can enter the pool with that result, however if you rewrite IELTS and score LRWS 8.5, 8, 7.5, 7.5, your CRS will become 474

A new journey begins...God is indeed awesome!!!

forgive my ignorance, I'm happy for your success. I'm envious of such and I know one day I'll get there.. does getting a visa automatically translate to getting a job there too.. or it just means I'm legally permitted to live there.

Oh dear, I am so so sorry to read this. Stay strong as you already have. All the suggestions are on point. Please do as advised.

In addition, you can also try to write WES to request or argue a change. Please see picture attached featuring advice on Canada visa, especially the second paragraph. No harm in trying this too.

Apologies for not responding to your pm, but then NL is bigger than an individual, it’s what makes this forum so special. I wish you the best in your application.

Hi everyone. I need help. I have been a guest reader on Nairaland but just joined a few minutes ago. I started the EE process in 2018 with my family. Got ITA Feb 2019 and AOR May 2019. We just got a refusal notification and we are just devastated. I am a lawyer qualified to practice in Nigeria and was advised by my friend who got her PPR last year (also a lawyer) that my qualification entitles me to claim that my education qualification is equivalent to a professional degree. I did this and then evaluated both my LLB and law school result with WES. However, the refusal states that WES had not evaluated my qualification as a professional degree and as such I was ineligible to receive the ITA I received on the basis that my points dropped by 7 points. Right now I am just confused and I need guidance on so many things.

Please help anyone.

Please I need some clarification on creating EE profile. For foreign work experience, when they say 'the job in d last ten years should be in only one occupation (NOC skill type O, A or B), does that mean the same NOC code for all.the jobs e.g. 1224 or the jobs can be in different NOC codes as long as they are all A or O.

Secondly, if one has a job offer in Canada but no LMIA, can they select yes for job offer in Canada?

Thanks a lot

Also how does IRCC confirm someone's job duties from their employer? by calling or by email?

Hello all, please I would like to find out if there are some specific set of relations that can provide you with funds for gift deed, or anybody whether related or not, can do this.

My advice is to appeal the decision with screenshots from CIC website highlighting Law as a professional degree...In addition, if you can get a copy of IQAS evaluation of law degree from your school, attach it and state that you didn't see the need to evaluate with IQAS who awards professional degrees to same Law degree from your school, given that it's already stated on CIC website as a professional degree... raise CSE and mail MPs whose emails you can get from your AOR group..

Even if you wanted to claim professional degree, you should have backed it up with LOE seeing that your degree wasn't evaluated as that.

I like how positive you're but I feel you should appeal, it doesn't cost anything.. CRS cutoff points are on the high side now and it makes sense to atleast appeal..

All the best

You need before you apply, not before an EOI, which is not an application. He will need it before an application can be made.

Not sure about how Saskatchewan works but I thought you needed ECA before you can submit an EOI?

I will do this. However, do you know if this will stall my re-entry into the pool? Also, will it be at a cost?

The thing with the pilot program is that you must get a job offer to apply.

Anyone can provide you with funds but let it all be paid into the account of either of your parents or sibling. It is easier to explain and defend the relationship

The person means is November 2010 to December 2011 within the last 10 years of claimable work experience?

Are you more interested in knowing whether the decision can be reversed or reentering the pool with CRS that may not get ITA? I advised this seeing that even if you add your spouse's ECA, you won't get to 470. Many people have appealed their rejections and gotten favorable responses.. Well, I don't know if it will stall your re-registration and it doesn't cost anything, it's just emails.

Again, all the best.

Simulate your CRS score with a maxed out IELTS and see what you get.

Just putting all the options on the table really. We will definitely be appealing, just wanted to go into it fully informed. I have tried to raise CSE, but there is no option for appealing a rejection. Can you please assist (if you know how) on the exact process. Thank you.
