Good evening everyone, I'd really appreciate enough answers and suggestions to this enquiry. Got HND in Business Administration Management (2.9/4.0). Is it possible to apply for masters directly? What courses are advisable to pursue or which Universities accept HND Certificates so I can enquire on the available courses? do I need exams to apply for assistantship? Lastly, is immigrating to USA via study route still feasible? Lastly I can get my transcripts (ND and HND) in less than a week, but can I use my own transcripts to apply or my school would send to the receiving school. Any other advise or questions would be appreciated. Thanks |

Ifesinachi22: I would recommend DHL. Maximum of 22k will get it sent and it's usually within 5 working days, especially if you are sending from cities like Abuja and Lagos that flights connect directly to US. God bless you too brother. |

The questions you asked could have been answered by yourself if you have done your home work. But let's see. -You can use your HND to get an MS admission, yes. But you might need to evaluate your academic transcript. -It is wrong to ask people to tell you what course you can pursue! It is your call and purpose and you know what is best for you. Sit down and see where you most fit and where life is calling you to serve. Define your long term goals and see through it to determine where you want to spend your work life. Make a list of potential Master's programs that align with your academic, work, and life experience. Pick the best you feel most suitable, and stick to it! -Whether you will write an exam or not will be determined by the program and the school you settle for, and assistantship is not always offered because your write an exam. So, check out with the school you settle for to determine the requirement. -Check the school you are applying to determine if unofficial transcript is used for admission processing. Is it official, evaluated, or unofficial? Check the school MS admission requirements. Always make sure you have done your home work. Go through this thread for more information. Best of luck You have a lot of work to do. Right now, you should begin NairaLuck: 4 Likes |

Ernestamy: What do you need assistance with? I would advice you wait for the admission decision from the rest of the schools you applied to. You have one admission already and more pending decisions, just pray and hope you get accepted into them. The reason why you may have been denied in the other two schools may be that compared to other applicants, your application file may not have measured up including your GRE scores. Keep hope alive. 1 Like |

DBlessedofGod: Since you need the degree at your place of work and your keyword is coming back to Nigeria for a marketing career upgrade and not staying back in the USA, If you don't mind my advice, I will suggest you stay in Nigeria and opt for an online accelerated MBA with concentration in marketing for the follow reasons. 1. With an online degree, you will be able to spend less on schooling (NO living expense, no insurance, no feeding and transportation cost). Your expenses will only be your tuition, Internet data and your time 2. You will be able to keep your job in nigeria while studying at the same time (steady flow of salary and you won't be out of job) 3. No fear of V.O rejection. As long as you are admitted by an American University, you can commence your classes via blackboard and blackboard collaborate which is same experience as face to face classes 4. No visa fee, sevis fee, flight ticket wahala 5. Most of MBA classes are online whether you are on campus or outside USA. for example, 6 out of 10 courses for my masters are completly online while the remaining 4 is a blend of online or face to face classes. So, the experience is almost the same 6. You can always travel to your school in USA for career fair, field trips or conferences, and also, you can travel to USA for your graduation or have your certificate shipped down to you. 7. You get same certificate with people who studied on campus 8. You can accelerate your duration by taking summer classes which will make you graduate and finish earlier. 9. With the aid of your school in collaboration with handshake and other bodies, you can always get an international intenship program outside the country be it europe, America, Australia etc. Just a suggestion 5 Likes |

I had HND in food science and technology too and I am currently admitted to 3 schools in USA. All you need to do is request your ND and HND transcript be evaluated by WES and you will be fine. Avoid schools that doesn't require credentials evaluation. NairaLuck: |

Hilush: Hanty, You need to study more on marketing mix, target market and more of marketing analysis. As good as you advert appears, it's targeted at the wrong people on a wrong thread. You see these people here, they are either in USA or about to "Japa" to study in the US, even the ones who visit here just to get information, what they wanted isn't related to events. Goodluck on your hustle by the way. 5 Likes |

Dprinz45:Good Afternoon all, I really don't know how to go about things here but I'm in a similar situation like his, mine was I actually studied for some years in the university here in Nigeria but didn't get funds to pay up fees, thereby I had to leave school and started running jobs, I could barely save let alone feed, so I got someone in the United States who is will to help me start up schooling there and said he'll be my financial sponsor too, please what do I do and how do I go about the process. Thank you so much |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by sultanfortune(m): 3:44pm On Feb 18, 2020 |
iamkingdaniel: Are you sure this person you are talking about is ready to commit thousands of dollars to pay for your tuition and living expenses? Don’t come to the USA and realize that he is not ready to commit such funds running into millions of naira just to sponsor you through school when he is not your parent or immediate sibling. Or are you trying to use the F1 route to japa from Nigeria? Well, let me advice you, register for a standardized test (SAT) or whichever one will be best and apply to schools that can offer you generous scholarships, attend your interview and come to the USA and school on a scholarship (free). Anything outside that you will find yourself out of status. If you can’t fund your studies in Nigeria, do you think it will be easy for you in the USA? 1 Like |

sultanfortune:Thank you so much for the insight, this isn't a total means of japparing but it's part of it. My uncle living in the US actually came up with this idea. I will also take the SAT exam just as implied. Thank you for your response 1 Like |
