The money was returned to the national treasury. These SERAP folks are amateurs. When stolen money is recovered, the govt doesn't say ''Oh we'll use this money to do this or that project''. They simply add the money to the treasury, adding to the other billions there. SERAP's foolishness is like somebody demanding to know how you spent your last paycheck. Must you have spent anything? It goes straight into your bank account. When you withdraw money from your account to pay for something, it's not specifically from your last paycheck, but from the general money in the account. Fcking amateurs. 1 Like |

This is the way to go. The capacity of civil societies need to be built so they can tackle any government of the day on accountability. They should put government on their toes so they can deliver on their mandate. If we have more than one SERAP in the country that holds every local government chairman and state government accountible I believe every one of them will want to keep to the mandate that brought them to power. |

Abacha was an arm robber, thank God he died a miserable death, None of his children should be allow to run for public office because, they will start looting from where the tyrant father stops! Criminality runs in their blood! |

You see that last $321 million from Switzerland; that is what was used to pay the poorest of the poor in Nigeria including the mentally poor... Awon BMC. At the same time we were distributing this money, we were seeking for a loan of over 300million from China. As for the other administrations, we wait to see how they spent the Abacha savings ( our president said he did not steal anything) 1 Like |

kokakola: If the money was spent judiciously, the projects it was used to execute will be gazetted. Meanwhile, I consider SERAP the best think tank in Nigeria. When I read news from them, I see a whistleblower that really wants a better Nigeria. Not all these useless sociopolitical groups that represent one tribal or religious interest or another. |
Re: SERAP Gives FG 7 Days To Disclose Spending Of Recovered Abacha Loot Since 1999 by Rossippi: 4:58am On Feb 17, 2020 |
SoNature: You're talking rubbish. Recovered funds are returned to the national treasury from where they were taken. They don't go into a special account for ''recovered stolen money'', so it is SENSELESS asking ''what was done with the recovered money''. You people should at least show some evidence that you are educated. 1 Like |

Alfredah01: Shut up your nasty lips and go and learn budgeting and finance before accusing people of stealing money. If you have 2 million naira savings in your account and I give you 10,000, which you add to the account, what will you say if I come to you a week later and ask what you did with the 10,000? And if you have no real answer, I will say you frittered the money away since you can't account for it? Would that sound reasonable to you? Especially if in that period you've spent over 500,000 on various needs? Idiots that cannot think beyond their mosquito brains. 1 Like |

Rossippi: Oversabi, keep quiet. Why didn't Buhari return the last Abacha loot to the national treasury where it was stolen from? They made it abundantly clear that the funds were shared among Nigeria's poorest of the poor. Yes, that's what I am talking about - keeping records of what the money was used for. I don't care if it was re-looted, but they know what it was used for. From your contribution: You probably got your degree from Harvard, yet you go about insulting others without using your common sense. https://www.google.com/amp/s/nairametrics.com/2019/10/22/recovered-n31-8-billion-abacha-loot-was-spent-on-the-poor-says-fg/amp/ 1 Like |
