I was skeptical about who wins MOTM between Saka, Ozil and Pepe until the later gave the assist for Laca goal. Pepe wins MOTM. Dani stabilize our midfield in the second half, I'm of the opinion we buy him. Pepe tracks back to help out, Ozil contesting for aerial ball, I hope the lads continue like this. COYG |

Swissh:I remember saying if the midfield is properly setup the weakness in our defence won’t be that obvious. We can see this in the number of clean sheets since Arteta took over. |

kokanepyramid:And I added that the way the midfield was been outplayed will have effect on our game especially when that boy was playing. All of a sudden our midfield is now connecting with both attack and defence, thunder fire ebening and his supporters that called us haters. sod09:Where do you think we need to add going into the summer? For me I think we should sell Laca and get a left winger. Matinelli can then deputize for Auba, we should also shop for a replacement for Ozil. Those are the two paramount areas for me every other addition will be a plus. It won’t be a bad idea to keep Ceb. |

kokanepyramid:we need cash, we sell off those loaned players including Dino, part of me want mustafi to stay We sell xhaka, ozil, lacazette, papa and Kola then Arteta can get his players. I'm tired of seeing 2 different halves performance |

Now let's talk about Torreira. Does he still get into the starting 11? I will rather pair Xhaka with a creative player than a Ball winner. Everton and Westham at home next are perfect games to get some momentum going for us before playing Brighton and Southampton away. Champions league is looking like a possibility now. |

For me though, Between Dani and Saka would be my man of the match. I have said it previously that Dani reminds me of Santi. Plays with both feet and can pick a pass. Its a no brainier that when he started making the passes quicker, Newcastle got stretched and with runners like Auba and Pepe, it was only a matter of time before they broke down. Shout out to Newcastle's Saint Maxima.... that guys wing play was on another level. My fear was always the balance in strength in midfield if we played ozil and dani together but it was never in doubt that with two ball retention and distribution players of their quality, we should always have more possession and dominate the game. It was just a question of how they would be setup to function on and off the ball and credit must go to Arteta for doing a good job thus far. Again he passed a silent message with the selection that no player is indispensable...Risky but played out nicely and im sure everyone in the squad will be fighting tooth and nail to impress during training in order to make themselves available for selection on matchday. |

Yesterday was a match to behold. I just can't believe this is the arsenal(of the 2nd half) we've been missing for a long time. Geez!. Credit goes to Arteta and I feel the winter break did wonders. Now to my talking points. 1... Saka deservedly man of the match. He was one of the really stand out players in the first half wen most underwhelmed then he duly capped it with an exceptional 2nd half display. It would have been unfair on him if he wasn't given. 2.. Who notice Pepe made runs behind the defence in the 2nd half of the game? Unlike what we've been seeing of him prior to ystdy game where he wait for ball to the feet. I hope he keeps it up, then more goals and assist will surely come from him. 3... I've always be vocal about ceballos starting and ystdy just proved my point. Our midfield was so in sync and very very fast. Ozil, mehn, I think that was his best game post Wenger. The midfield hardly gave Newcastle midfield any chance to breath at all. 4... Also our organization in defence and midfield was great. The on/off the ball movement was really a great sight. Also I love the way we kept possession and passing the ball around going 2 goals up. It really while away time and the same time tire them off 5... Auba is really great. Stepped up wen you needed him most. His goal really opened up the game. Hope this is a new dawn for us and the beginning of Something new. COYG!!! |

Roland17:He blocked Luiz having direct passes from the midway line during the 1st half with all those his pointing and directing like Sanwoolu. But in the 2nd half, his passes to the wings were so so sweet and attack gingering. Saka will declare for Nigeria. If Ramsey is thinking of a return, then it will be fair to have Iwobi back. 8 assists to Saka and best youngster in the EPL after Martinelli. The break was very helpful.... |

truth be told, I am really happy with the way arteta is demanding absolute discipline and commitment from the players. The likes of AMN has learnt it the hard way, he had the RB position on a lockdown, but his commitment in that position sold him out, look at that young lad saka that is playing as a makeshift left back, no complain from him, same thing with martinelli and Aubuameyang. these guys understand the condition the club is right now, and they are ready to give their all for the team even if it means them playing in an unfavorable position. But for AMN, the reverse is the case, he think that the club is hindering his carrier as a CM eventho he is shīt in that position. now he has forced the club to bring in an injured RB. I hope he finnaly get the message that aterta is trying to pass. I see a very good Phillip Lahm in him, but unfortunately he still sees himself as the next Andres iniesta. 1 Like |

daveP: a forward line of saka, osimhen and chukueze is super deadly! Hopefully England will not enticed him with the upcoming euro20 competition . I heard. that juventus want to add Ramsey to the pogba deal. beside I don't think the club should be looking to bring Ramsey back, because of his age, injury history and obviously his high wages. and don't forget the fact that the club is trying to rebuild the team around youngsters that can serve the club for 5-10 years. just like Sanchez and other flops that thought that the grass is always greener in the other side, I hope he enjoy his fat pay check and hopefully sign for manyoo where he and Sanchez will be paid €1million weekly just to do nothing |

Na that Sanchez own funny pass, First he lied that he wanted to leave cos we ain’t winning the EPL trophy, City came for him in January where it was very obvious they were winning the league dude followed the money to United. Then Flopped badly refused to take a pay cut for ease of shipment somewhere else. Shamelessly receiving over 250k from Man-U just to stay away from England. Yet nothing to show footballwise. This is the bloody mercenary Sod is saying Wenger should regret selling. I puke. |

Jencejyde: Yh. Right. I think there's a new tactics now. In today's match, Xhaka and Ceballos were always close to each other while Ozil link up with them. That is the second tactics. I think the players are not used to it that is y our defense was shaky at times today. Once they fully master this tactics, mehn, I tell you, Ozil, Ceballos, Xhaka, Auba, and Lacazette( if he's part of the tactics as I think Nketiah may be getting the nod ahead of him in this new tactics) will benefit more from this tactics and Pepe? The guy will score goals in this new tactics if he's consistent and convincing. The other tactics is the one we are used to which allows the LB and the RB to attack but Bellerin is struggling to attack these days, don't know why. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by kodded(m): 1:06pm On Feb 17, 2020 |
OLUWABIG:which nkeitah ? once kolasinac and Tieriney are fit, martinelli and saka will be struggling for the LW position, while lacazette and Aubuameyang will fight the CF. and also Pepe and Nelson in the RW. I don't really see where Nkeitah will fit in honestly. because his best chance he might get might be from the bench. |

sod09:Don't tell me you are using stats to defend your mcm. Anyways I also think the guy is decent just that the nuts in his brain easily come off especially at odd times. He would do well by just sticking to defending and leave Luiz to the job of sending long passes. I am becoming sick of his vain attempts to build attack only to send a pass that is either over hit or under hit. |

Swissh:Ceballos was nice because it was Newcastle and we were at home. Against stronger opposition, I think Torriera would be better in the DM position together with either Xhaka or Ceballos, of which I'd prefer Xhaka. 2 Likes |

sod09:The league position really hides the level of achievement this team has made since Arteta. The number of draws says it all. I believe with some more consistency in converting some of those draws to wins we would climb up faster. Let's take it game after game, 6pts in the next two games and see where we will be. COYG |
