Contrary to popular belief OBJ
Did a great job as president
Compare Nigeria before and after OBJ

Before OBJ militancy, sharia, a judicial system that acted as an appendage of the executive were not part of the system. Nigeria witnessed the most high profile political assassinations under Abacha and Obasanjo.

He has a lot in common with his colleagues, Abacha and IBB.

Help me ask him o! Small-minded leaders who pervert power and kill their country for personal gains rather than build it.

Boko Haram overpowered the mobile police, they ran them off their training base at Gwoza like a flock of chickens. Same thing would have happened to his beloved national guard...

IBB is out of touch with the amount of decay and rot that has spread through the nation's armed services in its entirety; a decay he himself introduced & nurtured all through his presidency via his deliberate emasculation of basic law enforcement i.e. the nigeria police force

External debt non existent , Foreign reserves grew geometrically , GDP doubled and a better standard of living.

You want to compare the security situation now to 99-2007?

99-2007 laid the foundation to the current mess. Obasanjo was one of those who brought Buhari. If anything is wrong with Buhari he takes a greater part of the blame because he should know Buhari much better than most Nigerians do.

OBJ had the opportunity to set the template for a world class democracy....

Most of of the politicians we have now belong to his school of thoughts...

This is junk journalism !!.
Lalasticlala, Seun,is there nothing good to sell on this Platform again. Babangida has lost relevancy.Could it be that some of you have no sense of history? What this man did to Nigeria and Nigerians? How he wasted Nigeria destiny under a bogus June 12 Election adjust the best in Nigeria, yet dubiously annulled it which eventually brought Nigeria to its knees?.Which ideas does he have now that some of you are padding in order to deceive Nigerians again?
Is this how Nigeria can be great?.Fake leadership tufiaka!!.
I remember that for a whole year Nigeria was boiling and many lost their lives, Naira lost its value, the different protests in virtually all the States of Nigeria, including Abuja! and eventually he abandoned Nigeria to Abacha with their interim nonsense govt.Thunder of God Almighty will Fire all those who placed Nigeria in this unfortunate situation!!!!!!!!!!!So is he better than Buhari,NO!!. Don't re-write history for us please. Nigeria will be great again!.

If he did such a great job, why would "popular belief" think otherwise?

Anyway, popular belief is not necessarily factual.

The fact is that OBJ did a poor job.

Then the bar has been set abysmally low.

He's been just one of several unsuitable leaders who failed when it mattered most.

GDP doubled?!!

You can't reduce 8 years of an administration into a couple of sentences. Getting debt relief from multilateral creditors was that administration's signature achievement - I'll give them that. But what else? Remember the monetization policy of that administration and how senior government officials used that policy to illegally buy up their official residences? Remember how that administration raised the price of petroleum products a whopping 5 or 6 times? Was the "subsidy" that large to begin with? Remember the resources poured into the failed 3rd term bid which he denies to this very day? Remember the ugly crony capitalism of that administration which manifested in actions such as the sale of ASC to unsuitable hands?

We can go on and on.
