[quote author=JMAN05 post=86654318] I don't think you read my comment well. Let me post it again. I did say to you that Jesus did observe the law. The law was out of the way after his death. Of course, he pointed out the principles in the law while alive cos this will replace the strict law observance. Notice in that Matthew 5, that Jesus did not isolate the ten commandments as the commandments he mentioned in verse 19. See verses 23,24 still encouraged animal sacrifice. Verses 33, 38 is also not among the ten. These are among the commandments Jesus mentioned in verse 19. I have said before, if you take only the ten commandment, you are rejecting the most important commandments which are: love God with all your heart, soul and strength, and loving your neighbor as yourself. (Deut 6:5; Lev 19:18) these are not part of the ten. So all the commands, including the ten commandments emanated from these two. Yet these two is not part of the ten. I give advise: when considering the law, consider it as a whole. Do not detatch some from the rest. The law is a body of rules. They are together.. Romans 8:6-8 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. A carnal mind is not subjected to the law of God. Which law is this? Romans 8:6-7 For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, |

JMAN05: Since the law was abolished as you claim, which law is been reffered to here? please answer straight do not use another bible verse you don't understand to confuse your answer. Just tell me which law is been referred to. 1 John 3:4 Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness. Matthew 13:41 "The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who commit lawlessness, 2 Corinthians 6:14 Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? Matthew 24:12 "Because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will grow cold. 2 Peter 2:8 (for by what he saw and heard that righteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds), Acts 2:22 "Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know-- 2 Thessalonians 2:7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. Matthew 23:27-28 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness. "So you, too, outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. 1 Timothy 1:9 realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers Romans 4:7 "BLESSED ARE THOSE WHOSE LAWLESS DEEDS HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN, AND WHOSE SINS HAVE BEEN COVERED. Titus 2:14 Verse Concepts who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds. Hebrews 8:12 Verse Concepts "FOR I WILL BE MERCIFUL TO THEIR INIQUITIES, AND I WILL REMEMBER THEIR SINS NO MORE." Hebrews 10:17 Verse Concepts "AND THEIR SINS AND THEIR LAWLESS DEEDS I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE." |

blueAgent: I did say that sin is anything not in harmony with, hence contrary to, God's personality, standards, ways, and will; anything marring one's relationship with God. It may be in word, in deed or failing to do what should be done. (Jas 3:17), or in mind and heart. Any such thing is sin and thus lawlessness. That fits into any use of lawlessness above. |

If Men and Nations still have laws that stipulate or regulate Human conduct, then is it God 's government that will now abolish its own laws? What would happen if in Nigeria and US the government decides to abolish laws against killing, fraud stealing e.t.c and saying we will be living by the principles?(I wonder what that means) |

JMAN05: Where you expecting to see it stated by names? There is more than enough evidence to show that each of the law was different and served different purposes. while there where areas that overlapped in the laws, each served its purpose. the 10commandments were written by God himself and placed inside the Ark That of Moses was written by Moses through inspiration from God and placed by the side of the Ark. Nothing stop God ROM writing all the laws rather than only ten, and nothing stops both laws from been put inside the Ark. Stop looking for excuse where there is none. |

JMAN05: Where it reads( my sabbath) is the lords day the weekly 7th day, where it reads (your sabbath ) the lords Sabbath looks back to creation all other Sabbaths look forward to Christ.only they were a Shadow of things to come, the7th day sabbath is the lords, its the lords day, all the other sabbath are referred to as your Sabbath. Leviticus 23 contains all the appointed times starting with the most frequent, the weekly Sabbath. Then there are annual days primarily set by the day of the month. The two exceptions are first fruits and weeks. Each of these follow a weekly Sabbath. The first follows the first Sabbath after Passover; the second follows the seventh Sabbath. Many of the annual days are also days of no work and could be considered like a Sabbath. Some are actually called a Sabbath: Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. (Leviticus 23:24 KJV) Day of Atonement is also a Sabbath: It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath. (Leviticus 23:32 KJV) The seventh month begins with a 10-day period which will include at least one weekly Sabbath. Therefore in that week there will be Sabbaths (one weekly and one annual). The pattern of plural and singular use of Sabbath continues in the New Testament. The Englishman's Concordance lists 68 occurrences of Sabbath - 25 are plural and 43 singular. Many of the plural uses make sense when considered as speaking to the weekly Sabbath. For example: And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath(s) day, and stood up for to read. (Luke 4:16 KJV) Some plural uses cannot mean weekly Sabbaths: Now upon the first day of the week (sabbaton), very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. (Luke 24:1 KJV) The plural form of Sabbath is translated as "the first day of the week". The actual language is "They came to the tomb very early morning Sabbaths..." Since the resurrection took place following a period of 3-days and 3-nights, only one Sabbath could be weekly. The translations are not wrong in that the correct day of the week is rendered (Sunday, the day after the Sabbath). What has happened is that the calendar before the resurrection has become obscured. The only way to get more than one Sabbath into a 3-day period of time is to include an annual day. Luke understood the first day of Unleavened Bread as a "Sabbath" since it was a day of no work. In other words, the resurrection occurred on Sunday after the Sabbaths of the first day of Unleavened Bread and the weekly Sabbath. Luke is not alone in using the plural form of Sabbath when describing the resurrection. It is one of those aspects of the Gospel which is found in all four accounts: Mark 16:2, Matthew 28:1 (twice), Luke 24:1, and John 20:1 and 20:19. Since the plural was used in all four accounts and since the weekly Sabbaths are 7 days apart and since Jesus was in the tomb 3 days, the second Sabbath must be the first day of Unleavened Bread. |

JMAN05: ARE THEY STILL BINDING? How many commandments are contained in the Ten Commandments? Does that sound like a foolish question? Then consider the fact that thousands of religious people would give an answer like “94” or “110.” You see, there is a strange belief on the part of many that the great God-written law of the Ten Commandments was actually a part of the ceremonial law of Moses which contained scores of specific regulations. They do not see the decalogue as being distinct and totally unique because of its divine authorship. Neither do they see the clear limitation which the Bible sets for this moral code by calling it the TEN Commandments. It seems quite obvious that one would effectively do away with the “Ten Commandments” by mingling them with ninety or a hundred others and calling them “ordinances” instead of commandments. Such a radical effort has been made to dilute the force of the only words of the Bible which God wrote with His own hand. Furthermore, the claim has been advanced that since the Ten Commandments were a part of the mosaic law of ordinances which ended at the cross, we are no more obligated to obey the decalogue than we are to offer lambs in sacrifice. Is there proof positive in the Scriptures that there was no such blending of the ceremonial and moral law into one? Can it be shown that the Ten Commandments were of a permanent, perpetual nature while the ceremonial law of statutes and ordinances came to an end when Jesus died? Indeed there is abundance of evidence to answer these questions with a resounding yes! God made known this distinction to His servant Moses, and Moses explained it to the people at Mt. Horeb. “And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone. And the Lord commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go over to possess it” (Deuteronomy 4:13, 14). Please notice how Moses clearly separated the Ten Commandments, which “he commanded you,” from the statutes which “he commanded me” to give the people. The big question now is whether those statutes and judgments, which Moses passed on to the people, were designated as a separate and distinct “law.” God answers that important question in such a way that no doubt can remain. “Neither will I make the feet of Israel move any more out of the land which I gave their fathers; only if they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them” (2 Kings 21:. Here we are assured that the statutes which Moses gave the people were called a “law.” Any child can discern that two different laws are being described. God speaks of the law “I commanded” and also the “law ... Moses commanded.” Unless this truth is understood properly, limitless confusion will result. Daniel was inspired to make the same careful distinction when he prayed for the desolated sanctuary of his scattered nation. “Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him” (Daniel 9:11). Once more we see “thy law” and “the law of Moses,” and this time the two are recognized as different in content. There are no curses recorded in the Ten Commandments that God wrote, but the law which Moses wrote contained an abundance of such curses and judgments. The major point of difference between the law of God and the law of Moses, though, lies in the way they were recorded and preserved. We have already cited Moses’ statement that God “wrote them (the Ten Commandments) upon two tables of stone” (Deuteronomy 4:13). Compare that with Exodus 31:18, “two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.” No one can confuse this writing with the way the mosaic law was produced. “And Moses wrote this law ... And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished, That Moses commanded the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord, saying, Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee” (Deuteronomy 31:9, 24-26). This book of statutes and judgments which Moses wrote in a book was placed in a pocket on the side of the ark. In contrast, the law written by God on tables of stone was placed inside the ark of the covenant. “And thou shalt put into the ark the testimony which I shall give thee” (Exodus 25:16). At this point we can note several distinctions in the two laws. They had different authors, were written on different material, were placed in different locations and had totally different content. |

JMAN05: The law of God (10commandments) is quite different from the law of Moses which I have demonstrated to you. What I want to do now is to highlight or draw your attention to the eternal nature of God's law. After God gave Moses the 10commandments which were written by the finger of God himself. God instructed Moses to put the 2tables of stone on which the 10commandments were written into the Ark of covenant. Remember God has told Moses that the Ark and the temple were replica or were patterned after the ones in Heaven. While the law of Moses was put by the side of the Ark the 10commandments were put inside the Ark. Over 2000yrs later God's servant John was given a revelation of God's temple in Heaven and he saw the Ark of Convanent of God in the temple with the testament or 10commandments still there. Revelation 11:19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail. Note The Ark stands for God's presences. The 10commandments are the foundation of God's government they show us how to love God and our neighbors, it is a reflection of who God is. Abolishing the 10commandments is like God abolishing himself and government. No wonder Jesus said that till Heaven and Earth pass away one T or dot will not pass away from the law till all is fulfilled. |
