This VGIF is not 8.5%, I subscribed on the 4th and what I have been getting is 4%, I regret putting my money there, I subscribed because another marketer of yours claimed this same 8.5%

I am so annoyed, you guys should stop spreading false information, it's not good for your brand. How do I terminate?

@Richforever123, Kindly note that the guaranteed rate for VGIF is 8.5%. VGIF is bench marked with SDF and currently SDF is 8.5% which is the lower limit of the asymmetric corridor around MPR. MPR is currently 13.5% and the lower limit is -500 basic points these information is in the public domain and are verifiable. You can do well to confirm from your account officer or chat with the customer care on Investment one website to clear your concerns. I am sure you will not have any reason to be annoyed. VGIF still remain one of the best mutual funds to invest in at this current period of low rate regime. Thank you for choosing Investment One.

Pls lets stop speculating fake news, analysts or experts are not in charge of our economy, Emefiele and his CBN teams are in charge, and they have stated it severally that there won't be any need for naira devaluation if our reserve is not below $30b. Lets stop helping those elements who doesn't wish Nigeria well to achieve their greedy aims.

So just last week CBN introduced longer-term naira/USD contracts for up to 5 year settlement. Based on the contract prices published by the FMDQ, the longest dated contract maturing in January 2025 is priced at 379.81, implying a minimal discount of 4.0% to spot rate of 364.85 in the I&E Window. This makes me believe that CBN will continue to defend the naira as they will have to take large losses on currency devaluation. But then again, CBN can sometimes be irrational!

oga am not spreading fake news, this is public forum where info are shared. You either pick or leave the info shared govt that is ready to improve the lots of FPIs at the expense of her citizen, any how it is all i know if they want to devalue there is nothing anyone can do about it. I dont support devaluation as it will make life tough for an ordinary citizen but as much as we rely on crude alone and our fx reserve keeps going down, we can only postpone the evi day. Dangote is relocating his office to US basis currency devaluation and me wt my tashere money should be sleeping?Even with devaluation people will still make more monies so how do i benefit is my own headache now

@aremso, I hail you sir, I have learnt a lot from you posts in this forum. I was not directly referring to you but some foreign elements who wants naira to be devalued for their selfish interest. Nigerians are still counting their losses from the last devaluation. Well, lets wait and see what happens, but I am certain Emefiele and his team definitely knows how to get over this issue of devaluation in due time.

Left for Emefiele the naira would have been devalued since. But Buhari is strongly against devaluing that’s why Emefiele is doing everything possible to save his job. I guess that’s one of the major reasons he was retained. The defending of naira is not sustainable, even if they manage to defend it for the next 4 years, the next govt will be in a huge mess!

The decision to devalue the naira has little to do with rationality....
The major determinant is oil price....if oil price is low CBN will have no option than to devalue the naira

Good day house.

I am a keen follower of this thread but I had to create a new moniker to make this post for security reasons.

I have saved about $1 million. Most of these funds are held in Crypto assets, cash (Naira), very liquid investments (Agro-Tech and treasury bills), and 15% real estate which I want to offload as soon as possible

I made most of these money during the last crypto bull market in 2017. And if my predictions are correct, the next crypto bull market should start end of 2020/2021, after the 2020 Bitcoin halving in May. This might increase the value of my assets to $1.5 - 2 Million.
I am a very practical investor. I know bull markets do not last and crypto is very volatile. Just as I have a made of lot from it, so have I lost a lot.

I want to diversify to more traditional investments and keep my gains. I used to invest treasury bills, but the rates are not favourable currently, Also, I fear a pending currency devaluation. I witnessed how the currency devaluation of 2015 decreased Dangote's wealth from a peak of $25 billion in 2014 to about $10 billion today.

In as much as I would like to preserve my capital in USD, I would also like to take advantage of investments with better returns in Naira.

My goal is to get ROI that can take care of my everyday needs and still grow my capital at least above the US inflation of about 2%.
I have studied the Naira vs dollar chart and notice a tendency. Once in every few years, the Naira gets devalued, after which it remains very stable for a few years. Also, just near the period after the devaluation, there is ample investment opportunities with great ROI to prevent flight capital. (e.g rate for T-bills were 17-20% immediately after the devaluation in 2014/2015).

I am still very young (middle 20s) and not married, so i can take some moderate risks.

Dear house, please advice on how to preserve and grow this capital. Also, are there Asset management companies that could help me out too?

Boss Ahiboil. Boss Emmanuel. Boss Totonarubber and all.
