The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has appealed to the United Kingdom to extradite ex-Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, to Nigeria to account for the missing public money linked to her.

Speaking to reporters in Kaduna on Monday, the acting chairman of the anti-corruption body, Ibrahim Magu, claimed Alison-Madueke stole “not less than $2.5bn.”

He said Nigeria needed the money to boost its economy.

Magu said it was “unfortunate she has a generation of looters supporting her.”

The EFCC chief added, “I was in London this year, we did an investigation together with the UK team, and anywhere I go I always call for the extradition of corrupt Nigerians to return (stolen) money.

“This woman (Alison-Madueke) has stolen so much, not less than $2.5bn, but unfortunately she has a generation of looters who are supporting her. This is not good.

“We are in touch with the international community, she is under protective custody, otherwise, we would have arrested her and bring her to Nigeria.”

Magu said corruption was surmountable, noting that in 2019, a total of 1,218 convictions were secured by the commission.

He said, “We will not allow corruption to work here in Nigeria because it is destructive and disastrous. We blocked several accounts.”

These thieves and criminals looted our national treasury from left, right and center,
burying millions of dollars underground/pit latrines, farms and buying MILLIONS OF DOLLARS worth of jewelries and you still see some swines wanting them back in power.
People that have looted their destiny and brains to the last.

This is just one of the multitude evil vices over 15 million Nigerians voted against.

The EFCChas been able to chase down the sums of N23.4 billion, $5 million and another N9.08 billion out of the $153.3m.

On August 9, a Federal High Court in Lagos state ordered the interim forfeiture of the sum of N7,646,700,000 that's also part of the loot stashed away in Sterling Bank.

$1.7 billion - Between 2011 and 2015, Chief Jide Omokore and Kola Aluko allegedlypaid bribes to Alison-Madueke in exchange for billion dollar contracts, to lift Nigeria's oil, getting awarded to shell companies owned by both of them.


According to the EFCC, at least N47.2 billion and $487.5 million in cash and properties have been traced to the former minister.

According to the agency, she has at least 12 luxury buildings scattered across the country. One of such, a Banana Island estate valued at $37.5M, was recently permanently forfeited to the Federal Government

May it never be well with all the people that are supporting and clamoring for these thieves.

A PBS NewsHour segment quoted American and British officials saying that former Petroleum Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke might personally have organized a diversion of $6 billion (N1. 2 trillion) from the Nigerian treasury. She has been charged with responsibility for $20 billion missing from the Petroleum agency.

Imagine if the thief had won the election, this frog-eyed fellow thief would have flown back to the country claiming she has been miraculously healed from the imaginary cancer eating her opolo eyes out...

I personally don’t have a problem with bringing looters and corrupt public officers to book. But when the forearm of the law is being wheeled politically then there is a problem.

It is now surprising that only some part of this country are looters known to come from.

Efcc and other government agencies are now controlled by few people for personal aggrandizing moments and to show political powers.

She should be extradited and the funds returned to help Nigerian’s economy, that’s the $2.8b.

I wonder the miracle her looted money will do that our ever loving and not corrupt past president Abacha loots couldn’t do.

They have OUK and now Alison Madueke.

Who knows buhari, should please tell him to do something about the country, If he can be strict with people of this country then I see no reason why he can't be strict on cutting down money these senators earn at least to get the country running abi he's not saying the truth ni..all we need is a good governance
