Please what is the full meaning of LOE, I see it being used alot here. I was also refused last year for January 2020 intake and would like to re-apply for September 2020 intake. When I requested for my GCMS note, it was stated that my reason for traveling to study abroad is vague, not properly documented and not convincing enough that I will return after study. I did Agricultural Science as an undergraduate and have been working with Telecoms company for about 10 years. The course I applied for is PGCert in wireless networking which is related to my current field. Please I need a guide on how to write an SOP that will convince the Visa officer. Thanks and God bless. nochyks87: |

chybabie: LOE = Letter of explanation It is a letter you use in addressing some concerns or grey areas In your application. People that got delayed use the letter when reapplying in addressing concerns raised by the VO in the GCMS notes. 1 Like |

Do you mean doing the second post graduate program immediately before apply for PGWP, or get the 1st year PGWP and work for a year, then apply for another PGWP? JustMellow: |

Hello everyone, please I need help. Is anyone admitted to university of Ottawa for 2020? Has anyone processed university of Ottawa before? I'm having issues paying schools fees. I don't know whether to pay school fees or not. My Dept aren't sure how to advice me. Please I need help if anyone has processed university of Ottawa before. Please. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Naijaforeigner: 2:42pm On Feb 18, 2020 |
samoji84: PGWP is only issued once, you can’t apply for it twice. So if you apply for PGWP on the completion of your first program, you are not getting another one. The best thing to do is complete both programs at a go or you are allowed to complete the first one, take 4 months break, do the second program and then apply for PGWP. If you do two PGC programs or 1 PGD ( 2 years duration), you will get 3 years work permit. |

I think you should wait a bit but it doesn't hurt to send them a mail asking about the status of admission. They'll definitely reply. sisikemi23: 1 Like |

Hello everyone, I am a very big fan of Nairaland and it feels so good to finally join. Big Ups to those who help/contribute in anyway to the success of any kind of visa. My case; I have once applied for a visitor visa to Canada in October 2018 and was refused. My questions are as follows; 1. Is it okay to switch to a study permit visa? will this raise a red flag? 2. I am single, 33yrs of age and have a 10yrs gap from the last educational certificate acquired 3. Is it okay for me to sponsor myself? 4. I have a GP of 2.99, for sure it won't get me a masters but hopefully will get me a PG Diploma with the years of experience i have. This bring me to the question - will my GP possibly affect the officer's decision because i heard your transcript is part of the documents to be submitted. 5. What are the documents required from an applicant who wants to sponsor herself. I know no one here is a visa officer, I only want to know if I even have chances at all. Please the GURU in the house, i will need your input on my case. Thank you in advance. |

Thanks for the response. But if one is reapplying, can't SOP also take care of the concerns raised in the initial application or all those reapplying must write SOP as well as LOE?. Thanks.. Naijaforeigner: |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Naijaforeigner: 6:55pm On Feb 18, 2020 |
cdaniel: If your documents are straightforward and you are a first time applicant, you may not need a LOE. The same SOP used during admission will be enough. If you are reapplying for visa, you can decide to submit your initial SOP and a separate Letter (LOE) addressing concerns raised by the Visa officer. This means you will submit 2 documents. Alternatively, you can decide to submit just 1 letter by expanding on the initial SOP to address issues raised by the visa officer. This means you will submit just 1 document. Personally, I recommend an expanded SOP (just 1 document) with subtopics addressing visa officer concerns and not more than 3 pages. I prefer 2 pages though. |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by victorychapel: 10:13pm On Feb 18, 2020 |
I will not advice that you use your parents' property documents except you are under 18 years of age. If you need to you a land document for the purpose of visa, it needs to be in your own name. In my own case in 2016, my mum gave my sister and I a piece of land and we divided it in 2 and had separate documents in our individual names.... I hope this helps Please, how does one justify home ties, using parent's land property? Please.[/quote] 1 Like |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Obehi44: 10:59pm On Feb 18, 2020 |
sarmamotors:If you have been following up, you would have read that BVL without medical request means refusal. But one can never tell when it comes to IRCC. One thing that is sure is that a decision has been reached on your application. Now you have to be hopeful that the decision should be in your favour. I wish you luck |
