my bother if the oppurnties arises especially canada or Australia legally no dull your self ..especaill in stem courses plus America ( your future is more certain ) ireland ( if attending computer related course.) Then if u dey local na to do traditional bizz ....like i got a contract to move 180k litres of deseal for construction firm at 2.7m this week it will cost me over 1m in deseal only but is very stressful , and fearful cos the goods is wort 40m while the carrier is around 44m so 88m on the road ....my bp will be high untill delivery....if am runing same biz in canada may be less profit but good road and excellent insurance

That is a known fact.
A way out is for a strong monetary union in Africa and reduced dependence on the dollar/other major currencies
Lets look inward and develop what we have. We should reduce commodity export and increase the export of finished products
It will take time , but it is doable

Boss you are right concerning leaving the country legally but sadly treasury bill rate is not encouraging simply because I am building it to pay for my msc school fees abroad...hopefully if I could raise it I will need your help on something for back up during visa application...

Run the calculations and compound the difference.

It’s obvious that foreign currency investments trump whatever investments/profit one is making in Nigeria, in the long term.

Nigeria’s economy has no base, clarity, consistency and strategy.

Not to create any panic, it’s better to diversify one’s portfolio to foreign currency.

I have studied the Naira vs dollar chart and notice a tendency. Once in every few years, the Naira gets devalued, after which it remains very stable for a few years. Also, just near the period after the devaluation, there is ample investment opportunities with great ROI to prevent flight capital. (e.g rate for T-bills were 17-20% immediately after the devaluation in 2014/2015).

. Microfinace banks are classified as 'Other financial institutions' and as such have a regulatory duty to Give out funds and also mobilize deposits. MFB's are only restricted from trading in foreign currencies and Operating directly in Clearing house.

The tenor is stacked against different rates..The tenor/duration determines the rate you get. If u fixing 100k for say a month, u get 6% PER ANNUM. If you fixing for 1 year you get 7% per annum.

Agreed. Barring a large shock in oil prices, I don't think CBN will willingly devalue the naira. It seems this government is obsessed with defending the naira at great expense of our foreign reserves.

Unfortunately I have an issue with all these you guys are saying, as at 2016/2017 we had oil prices at $25-35 a barrel, naira was devalued in the name of floating foreign exchange...

In my opinion CBN is not being sincere in having different exchange rates for the naira...

I believe if both interbank/blackmarket have a single exchange rate (apparently nothing to defend by CBN), our reserves would not suffer as BDCs and importers would have no reason to look to government for forex, afterall you wont get any special value or rebate per dollar...well the down side is BDC business may end up crumbling...

i laff in spanish！i should buy a stock at let say N19 and a dividend of let say N2 then after marking down the price goes to N16 does that make investment sense？If i cant buy lower into any stock before dividend payment i will never buy into such stock cos after mark down it will go down so what is the usefuness of the dividend, u gets N2 dividend and the stock went down by N4 doe that increase your wealth？ but if i can buy lower like N14 and the price rose to N22 i can still wait for dividend then bail out after marking down. Pls note i cant buy stock and go to sleep, i monitor my investment and ensure my wealth increase every yr.
