A word of advice to those getting PPR and ITA, when u get to Canada don't be like your predecessors. Help as many people as possible to get more points and don't switch off your phones when your siblings want to claim you as a relative or friend to get more points. One of the reasons the Indians are the number one immigrants in Canada is because of their communal nature and not because they can pass IELTS better. A single Indian immigrant in Canada can bring in as many as 20 people in a year by claiming relatives or giving them menial job offers, a friend even told me his company in Canada has been taken over by Indians from Mumbai because the manager is from Mumbai but here; I don't know if it's the Naija mentality of I want to be the only one in Canada in my family. I have been declined by two of my own cousins in Canada and I'm beginning to wonder if the average Nigerian is mentally imbalanced. I've even seen instances of single applicants decline to sponsor their bf/gf even when they have nothing to lose the moment they get ITA.

I think this should go straight to page 1

COPR:

On the Transfer form, there is a space for PURPOSE OF FUND.

She should write what the fund is meant for there.

This has got to be the best thing I am seeing today...Plz even if you leave for Canada, don't blank out on this page, become a pathfinder, lend a hand, drop comments, even if you can help someone pay his Wes fee or even IELTS(Plz I am just suggesting)..We all know the reason we are embarking on this journey is to give ourselves and our next generation a better Life/Platform..Indians understand this concept well and that is why they Flourish in Canada..A friend of mine got nominated by Manitoba and he needed a Sponsorship letter from someone in that Province, connected with a Nigerian there and the dude was asking for 3million(He lost the nomination)..Almost 90% of people here use gift deed for POF, it can only mean one thing WE CAN'T AFFORD THE POF ON OUR OWN..Plz let our Mindset change..The enemy is POVERTY not your fellow Brother/Sister..

ITA at last but with a mixed feeling for me and my wife.

Our profile as a couple was 468 since October last year so she wrote ielts last month and added 2 points to the score making it 470. My profile was expiring on the 21st of this month so this was the last draw before expiration.

Initially we had agreed to see what this score was then if it didn’t get to 470 today then I will go alone unaccompanied(crs of 475). But because of the anxiety and tension and uncertainties we had to change our mind yesterday and agreed that I go unaccompanied. Now draw comes out and it’s 470.

I was happy to see ITA and was angry that we didn’t wait.

My source of consolation now is accepting it as the will of God

Please I need a link to the WhatsApp group for married people going without their spouse

Thanks to all the gurus that helped me make an informed decision about this yesterday. I have included or I am including my wife in the application.

But I have one more question,

My profile is supposed to expire tomorrow 21st February 2020 like. The question is,

Am I already safe or is there anything or a stage I have to get with the application to be safe from the expiration of the profile?

Note: i have filled all the forms about family, spouse , eca, ielts, work experience etc and it has re-evaluate our joint score and passed us as still eligible. I am at the stage of uploading all documents and payment of fees

making sense till you got to nomination part hahahahahaha. nothing is always hidden with these guys. it is not advisable to sponsor someone who is not your family as it cant cast both parties one day. manitoba has kuku not done draw for that stream since july 2019 maybe they noticed the fraud going on. it is well with Nigerians no matter how you talk or advice we will still be selfish, hoard info or not help one another . it's in the DNA no solution. igbo man no fit trn suya seller cheesy

you need a job offer and the family must be able to pay you minimum wage. The indians and Philippines have collobi the scheme

Wow thanks for it insight.

Even with the Indians and the Filipinos taking over it, can I still apply?

Reason being that I have just an OND and that’s about the requirement I meet? Also do you know anything about the language proficiency requirement? Like do I have to write IELTS like every one else?

I'ld advise that you start putting your documents together for the OINP just in case the next ITA does not favour you.
The OINP process is largely the same with the normal ITA except that OINP does not require PCC and Medicals.
All other documents such as POF, ielts result, scanned passport, relative's birth certificate and other required documents (if you claim to have a relative in canada) etc. are the same.

alanpozar:
Hello house,

So I got an invitation to apply for provincial nomination in the OINP draw that took place last Thursday. Now my dilemma is based on today's draw of 470, is it advisable to go ahead to apply for the provincial nomination or just wait for the EE draw to come down further.

PS- CRS Score is 469

Also I have 45 days to apply for the nomination which started counting last week.

Thanks

@Uchboggy
I think you should submit an application and had an AOR before the ITA expiration date, IELTS expiration or profile expiration date (whichever comes first) before your details are finally locked in. Except you have all your details available, submit an application and receive an AOR, you may not meet up with you profile expiration date and subsequently you profile will be ineligible i.e. you may not be able to submit and would have to open a new profile. I believe this is right. Let someone who knows better advise.

@ednut1....... Are you sure getting an ITA excludes someone from becoming ineligible without getting to the stage of AOR? Please confirm once again.

it says:

''You can only stay in the Express Entry pool for one year from the date you were accepted into it. You can see this date in your MyCIC account.

Your Express Entry profile will expire if you are not invited to apply in those 12 months. If it expires, your profile will be removed from the system and you will get a message in your MyCIC telling you so'

Just to encourage someone here. I finished writing my CIMA exams in December and started evaluating immediately. My WES report just came out today and it's the equivalent of 1 year college degree.

Congratulations! Time to dive into the pool. I wish you a smooth journey from here on out!

Few questions about CIMA if you don’t mind. This would help others make an informed decision

How did you find CIMA in general?
Do you have a background in accounting?
What was your prep like?
How long did you study?
Any tips/tricks?

Thanks!

I don't have any background in accounting but it took a lot of back to back studying. It took me 2 months. CIMA is not so bad if you're determined. Materials for study are available in the CIMA thread.
