What Are Your Regrets For Leaving Nigeria? by Lawalemi(m): 6:59am On Feb 20, 2020 |
This question is largely for Nigerians in diaspora. I wish to share their experiences on disappointments and regrets that they have for leaving Nigeria to live abroad. Situations such as severance from extended family members, issues of cold and the rest were what some persons have mentioned in the past. Please share your experiences and views. Thanks 16 Likes 7 Shares |

Mine was out of frustration. I was working back then in a private company owned by one man, I worked diligently and contributed to the progress of the company, but when some money under my custody was stolen, the company mandated me to pay it back, it wasn't easy cause they were deducting 80% of my salary as a means to recover back the money, so I gathered money and paid the rest, resigned from the company and out of annoyance, I decided to travel to Sweden....but I still come back to this shithole after one year. The worst decision ever! 337 Likes 12 Shares |

If you migrated from Nigeria to most first world countries legally, your only regret will be not leaving Nigeria earlier, l doubt this country is going to develop with these type of visionless leaders, sometimes you get mad for finding yourself in this part of the world but there is little or nothing you can do about it, we have accepted our faiths. This country is so bad that you can be killed by anything the security of our country has never been this worst. This country is only built for the super rich even as at that, their security is not even guaranteed. Some people will never know the definition of peace and absolute tranquility, till they travel to a sane country which they can go out and shop at 1am in the morning without fear of being killed or kidnapped. 339 Likes 24 Shares |

Dulles25: Same here. I'm going for my driving test soon and the whole thing makes me miss Naija's lawlessness. In Nigeria we get used to getting around things by paying for it. 91 Likes 3 Shares |

ENG0701: I know, and the affordable services from tailors, to salon( In one salon at the East Coast, I was told plaiting fee is 250 USD, what I do for 10 dollars, I almost turned back except for the fact that I needed to). This is weird but I just got tired of speaking fluent English without a mix of Swahili as I had no East African around. The little things! 28 Likes 1 Share |

Dulles25: Yes I also miss those affordable services. Tailor, cobblers etc. I have some shirts to adjust, and I'm weary of going to tailors around here. 20 Likes |
