HopeSpencer:You might not have a suitable one. They do work. |
Re: . by HopeSpencer: 12:17am On Feb 22, 2020 |
budaatum: This seems to be the reason. That NGO that distributed it gave all of us the same type without any testing. It only increases volume, sounds not clear in my ear. 2 Likes 1 Share |

HopeSpencer:Everyone's hearing loss differs so one hearing aid does not fit all, like one glasses will not cure everyone's lack of sight. Go reseaech and shop around and test before committing. And if anyone says pay upfront, it is most likely a scam! 5 Likes 1 Share |

How about visiting an ENT specialist? |
Re: . by SporaD8: 7:12am On Feb 22, 2020 |
Ishilove:Him visiting ENT specialist is a waste . I would rather OP visit an Audiologist. They will recommend the perfect hearing aid for him after the proper test that determine the level of his hearing loss. |
Re: . by sacx: 9:15am On Feb 22, 2020 |
HopeSpencer: Stop using that hearing aid for now so you don't develop tinnitus. You may have sensorineural hearing loss and may require specialist intervention. You should find specialized care at LUTH. 1 Like |

Go find out from his Excellency, former Governor of Nasarawa state, Tanko Almakura, where he got his hearing aid from. If you can't afford it, ask if you can pay in installments. A job of 80k is not much. |

HopeSpencer: unfortunately a sensorineural hearing loss is permanent as the hair cell in the inner ear cannot be repaired or replaced. And the hearing does not recover fully or partly over time or by itself. The hearing that is lost is lost permanently. An age-related hearing loss, for example, typically worsens over time. Certain types of sudden sensorineural hearing losses can in some cases be cured but here it is important to seek medical help immediately. Treatment of sensorineural hearing loss People with sensorineural hearing loss cannot regain their hearing, but most people can benefit from hearing aids. A more severe or profound sensorineural hearing loss can be treated with hearing implants. A few cases of sensorineural hearing loss can be (partly) treated by means of an operation. A hearing test carried out by a hearing professional will detect if you have a sensorineural hearing loss |
