You are an adult obviously. Try to get enlightened about how things work, outside the education you received within the walls of a tertiary institution. You are educated but not enlightened, there's a thin line.

I'm glad i found someone that said my mind exactly, those joints you mentioned has got me thinking, I miss them die most especially BUSH inside secretariat. I'm new in the UK so it's boring, still finding my bearing and I'm missing home. That being said, I do not regret leaving. I'll just make sure I go home every year.

Hello bro, i saw your previous post about Tier 2 Dependancy Visa for the UK. I seriously need some info in that regard for my Spouse. My email is sbamidele25@gmail.com.
Thanks in anticipation

No need explaining to someone that contradicts himself. One minute he says this, the next minute he says another thing
DexterousOne:

Let me reel out two statistic for you

1) According to NDIC, less than 5% of Nigerians have anything above 500k in their accounts.
That is why the insurance claim is capped at 500k (this is verifiable stats, check it out)

2)most Nigerians, both the ones in business and in paid employment make less than 150k per month (I think the figure was up to 90% sef) This is according to research done by NOI polls.

So from the two facts above
Your talk of "many ballers" is negated

We may be living in our bubbles as "upper middle class"

But Nigerja is largely a poverty stricken country
Just like most of Africa

You are right bros, UK is boring especially to those of us that has spent most part of our lives in naija before migrating or relatively new here. But the ones born here or those that has been here for long have a way of widening out to enjoy themselves. For new and older people, it's difficult making new friends unless you are fortunate to be around those you have known from naija. Everybody is busy here and it seems the system only encourage you to go to work, come home to sleep and go back to work . The system is not 'naija compliant' at all but it allows one to be focussed and develop yourself gradually. The system is stable and working unlike naija wey be say common man no get life.

Exactly.... Boring

I believe the statement earlier depicted "a health insurance scheme that works". I've lost someone earlier in life because of the so called "working health insurance scheme", hence my opinion on the case. On whose part does ignorance fall now?
Mizwisdom:

Agreed. But the information being given out here is completely false. The person I quoted was saying we didn't have health insurance. I think many people are simply ignorant, that's why they are complaining in the first place

I was talking to someone recently and he told me that ''people in the village eat better food than people in the city.'' I asked him why, and he replied that they eat fresh food. I was taken aback and ever since I've been wondering whether this's actually true.

That's true

Swedish don't like Nigeria as such. A friend of mine came to Nigeria with one of their babe to marry several years ago. He was denied visa to go with the lady. After several years, the lady went back to Sweden alone. The guy has since located to the USA. They hate black people and they don't hide it.

As for the topic, tell me what you are going to miss in Nigeria. Most European countries has all African food. Come to Peck ham in London here you will think you are in former Oshodi. They speak Yoruba like mad here. It is second Lagos. Talk of ladies it is buy one get 10 free. It is very difficult to miss Nigeria especially if you are London. That is the reason why it is difficult to to live in Nigeria if you had live in abroad before.

Turkey and Kosovo aren't exactly rich nations. Kosovo is quite poor..

If these 2 countries were allowed to join the EU, they'd flood Germany and France and other rich member states.
.
If you went to a better country, your assessment could be taken seriously

sowilli read this PremiumTrends post very well. It seems like you are not familiar with how terrible the Nigeria system is. You based your judgement on money, but do you know that SARS do harass young legit hustlers going about their normal lives on a daily basis simply because they are driving clean cars? They term every fresh guy a Yahoo boy. Are you aware of that?

Can you comfortably flaunt your wealth if you won't be kidnapped within a week? Can you move freely or drive freely in the night if you won't get robbed on the way in Nigeria?

I have always said it: I don't know why most of you always focus on money while neglecting quality standard of living. What's the life expentancy of those in Nigeria? Can you boldly quote the life expectancy of people in Nigeria and compare it with those in the western world?

Let's not always base our judgements on money. Even if you have the money, you can't live freely here in Nigeria without watching over your shoulder any time you are out. The system is very life threatening here. Once you have money, police will harass you on a daily basis to collect their own share, arm robbers will ambush and rob you on a daily basis. What of kidnappers? They will open a bank on your head every six months.

Do you know how many times Mikel Obi's father got kidnapped? Simply because his son is a footballer. They kept kidnapping the old man every year. Why do you think they are doing that? Bro believe it or not, it is a crime to have money in Nigeria cuz you can't spend it freely. Everyone will like to take their share. But that's not the case in the western world.

No wealthy man moves freely here in Nigeria without carrying gazallion of security men along. Think of all of that and you will realise that your motion holds no point.

People are suffering in Nigeria. We pay for what we are not using. No light but NEPA still bring bills every month for people to pay. In the west, you enjoy what you pay for in hundred folds do you know that? The system is designed in a way that there is no dichotomy between the rich and the common man. They all enjoy the same basic amentinities. Can we say of that in Nigeria?

My point? Don't base your judgement on money cuz you won't live to tell the story if you have the money in Nigeria. We advocate for quality standard of living. A system where life is valued. A system that gives the common man the opportunity to enjoy world class infrastructures and boost life expentancy.

Believe it or not, Nigeria is not a safe place to stay.

who says Nigeria is a safe place, again Na person wey no get money dey come. Online they rant say Nigeria is shit hole. Who doesn’t know Nigeria isn’t working. Must you come online every time and complain. Who doesn’t know SARS harrass. Read my post I said if you make that money you can comfortably relocate or visit those country with no problems. You won’t have any regrets. Why should you have regrets leaving or living in a country? You mentioned system? Who makes up and makes the system. They are people. Why should you have regrets about people you didn’t create. Please stop the complaints about Nigeria. I know Nigeria isn’t working... the question now is what do we do about it. Create a thread on how can we make Nigeria work and you will see how people will avoid it. Create a thread to bash Nigeria and you will see how people go full. You are all hypocrites!

None o. I think at this point in time, it is a sign of intelligence to find money somehow and flee the shithole.

Don’t listen to anybody saying we can’t all go. Yes. We can’t all make heaven too. But as for me and my house, we’re not coming back.

I've told my siblings and parents the same things.

You will come to me. I cannot come to you.

Finish

Nice...I'm Inspired.

Nigeria's problem is not just the leaders alone.

The citizens are even worse.

A society in which people eschew science for superstition, rpromote umours for logic and fact, trade insults for compromise, rate money greater than pride can never grow.

As a young man, nay teenager, I found myself and my siblings feeling like outcasts when dealing with our contemporaries.

Our ideas were often laughed at by our mates and even adults who should know better.

Fast forward to adulthood, and we've all found a place on the international circuit looking at the way the same set of Nigerians continue in their ridiculous trajectory and focus.

Nigeria is what it is because that is what Nigerians are like.

Exactly....Aptly.

Like many people have said, my regret is not leaving immediately I rounded up my youth service. I was so keen on living and making it in Nigeria that I started my business during NYSC in 2015, you can check my profile to verify. It was not until I got scammed and the Police demanded huge sums of bribes and 10 percent of my money if recovered that I realised that Nigeria was not for me. I eventually worked as a bank teller and I faced all kinds of discrimination because of my HND certificate, despite graduating with distinction. I took the bold decision to relocate to Germany in 2018 as a student and so far it is the best decision I have ever taken. The things I have achieved in 1 year living here and doing student jobs is more than what I achieved in 5 years living in Nigeria. My advice is if you can, migrate legally to developed western countries else you will be going in circles in Nigeria. Nigeria is favourable only to the rich not the middle class.

You just spoke my mind....Congratulations!!! I'm so happy for you. I wish you more lucks in your endeavors.

The lack of education is a purposeful thing. Incase you dont know.

Theres a reason why education is bleeped up here. Education builds character and power with this you can challenge anything.

So keep them illiterate and they cannot challenge us

Only certified educated and deep thinkers would understand this master piece. illiteracy and poverty are the greatest tools the oppressors always employ to subdue the masses...

Another View. You are totally right. We have too many educated illiterate selfish and wicked people in this nation as well. They are even the major problem of the nation with their blind uneducated illiterate brainwashed followers.

But dont forget from that 300 Million naira revenue this business man makes per annum.

In current Nigerian situation, at least 30 million will cost him keeping his kids out of naija for education and medicals and also for security cost (employ meguard, military escort, bullet proof vehicles ) that's not even guaranteed when the family are in Nigeria.

Even thou in the last four years ive been having serious thought and making provision and plans for future naija relocation.

But hey its very sad to say its not looking good in nigeria. It doesn't matter if you are in nigeria with 1 billion dollars in your account. as long as there is no peace in the land Noone is guaranteed peace including the rich..... shocked
